Just got my S5 44mm Nike Edition today! But I wanted to give a send off to my $12 Casio watch I’ve had for the last 3 years. I wore it everyday and it helped me discover the utility in watches. What was your watch prior to your Apple Watch?

My first month completed with apple watch. Lost about 11 pounds

    Posted: 02 May 2020 01:39 AM PDT

Just barely got this achievement. I had to lift dumbbells at 10:30pm to cross the finish line on this one. Pretty psyched though.

Can I use the apple watch as a phone without an iphone

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:38 AM PDT

My mom currently has a Samsung phone. She wants to not carry a phone at all anymore and only wear a smartwatch as a phone. Can the apple watch series 4 do this? If the 5 can but 4 can't, she's willing to go up to 5.

    Thanks.

My brother has lost all of his activity data on S5 AW

    Posted: 02 May 2020 05:32 AM PDT

Hello, My brother has seemed to have lost all of his activity data on his Apple Watch S5. He's done a hard reset and has setup from iCloud backup. Any suggestions? I can see his activity data on my phone since we share activity with each other.

Wrist bands for extremely small wrists?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 05:18 AM PDT

I'm thinking of buying an Apple Watch but my wrist is 4.5 inches in circumference. Are there any wrist bands that will fit a small wrist size like that? Also, will an Apple Watch look way too big on my wrist and should I just skip it altogether?

    Thanks!

Wahoo heart rate monitor interferes with the Apple Watch Heart rate sensor

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:56 AM PDT

I use a Wahoo TICKR monitor for running. A chest strap is best when running in the winter since the apple watch sensor does not like cold and dry wrists.

The sensor works flawlewssly. It connects directly to the apple watch as a bluetooth device (not associated to the iPhone, just to the watch) and heartbeats are perfectly recorded in my activity.

The problem I have is after removing the strap after the run. The Wahoo goes idle, I can see that it is "not connected" in the Watch's bluetooth settings. But when I check my heartbeat using the wrist sensor from the watch, it shows a totally wrong heart beat (e.g. varying between 125 and 150 when I am actually at around 70).

Furthermore, while HR app shows the wrong BPM, the ECG app shows the correct BPM.

So I realized today that if I turn off bluetooth, or remove the Wahoo TICKR from the list, then the Heartbeat app reports the correct BPM.

That is annoying, since I like the Wahoo and it would be a pain to add/remove it before/after each run.

I made a support call but since this is related to a 3rd party device, it is unclear who's problem it is. But to me, a device that appears as "not connected" should not interfere with the watch.

Anyone noticed anything like that ? Or another workaround?

I’ve recently tied with my friend on an Apple Watch Competition, and I still haven’t received my award. Does anyone know the cause of this issue?

    Couldn’t get distance and speed

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:18 AM PDT

Hi! I had a little training with my bike and I started a session on my S3. I also had my iPhone with me. The problem is that it hasn't caught the distance and the speed, but the map worked fine. Any suggestions?
