Does anyone know if Netflix Choose Your Own Adventure will work on Apple TV in time for the new Kimmy Schmidt movie?

If not, how do people with Apple TV plan to watch it?

Can I use Apple TV for audio airplay only?

    Posted: 02 May 2020 09:46 PM PDT

So I'm hoping there is an easy answer to my question. I'm looking for an inexpensive way to bring airplay to a home theater receiver and noticed that older Apple TV's are cheaper than airport expresses in general on eBay. They're also black like the rest of my audio components.

Anyway, I have an Ethernet cable that I can connect to the Apple TV near the receiver and the (older) receiver has an optical in. So in my head it should work but since I don't really know for sure, I'm here to ask.

If this would work, then which generation would be best? Does 1st gen work? Second? Are any capable of airplay 2? Is the Apple tv always on so when I switched to the receiver input it would work without needing to wake up the tv with a remote? If so then I shouldn't need the remote at all (cheaper that way). Finally, some hardware is so old that one can't even set them up any more. Want to make sure that doesn't happen.

    Thanks.

    Posted: 02 May 2020 11:48 PM PDT

Crossposting from r/logitechharmony since I am done with that remote.

    I am currently own a,

    - LG OLED77C9PUB

    - Samsung HW-R650 Soundbar

    - AppleTV 4K

I'm looking for something that will simply control everything at once, whether through CEC, IR learning or both. Only requirements are,

    - Turn on/off TV, soundbar, ATV at once

    - Control volume on the soundbar only while being able to use a D-Pad to move around the ATV, select, RR/FF in streaming apps, Plex, etc at the SAME time

    - Anything else is such as voice search/control is extra and simply a bonus

What's been working best for everyone?

    Sorting and organisation

    Posted: 02 May 2020 05:54 PM PDT

Recently bought the Harry Potter series. For some reason all the movies except the first one have matching artwork (numbered), the first one is just the plain old original poster.

Additionally, they're sorted alphabetically, this means they're out of order. (Hello OCD)

Also bought the matrix trilogy and one of them is stored i none category while the other two are in another (drama & adventure ones)

For some reason, DRM I expect, I'm unable to sort them the way I think they should be.

Is there any way to enable this?

Apple TV 2nd Gen stuck at Computers/ Settings screen.

    Posted: 02 May 2020 05:34 PM PDT

Hello Apple TV community. I have a quick question regarding Apple TV 2nd Gen. I gave my Apple TV to my sister when she connected it to her TV via HDMI cable it restarted from an Apple logo then spinning wheel as usual and bringing her back to the screen where it says Computers and Settings screen. She's trying to go to the settings tab from computers tab using the remote control the Apple TV box light blinks to tell us that the remote is actually communicating with each other but nothing changes on the screen. She tried up down left right button it just does t want to move from the Computers yellow tab. Please help. Thanks

    MUBI Subscription vs Login

    Posted: 02 May 2020 02:14 PM PDT

I signed up to MUBI on my Apple TV. Can I sign into the MUBI website or app? I've tried the "restore purchases" button. It doesn't appear to do anything.

So, if I borrow a Mac from a friend and enable developer mode to check resolution ... does the developer mode disappear once I detach the Mac from the network

    Live streaming overseas

    Posted: 02 May 2020 09:09 AM PDT

    Dear all,

I'm currently outside the US and streaming Sling/Netflix/Hulu over VPN on my MacBook Pro. Everything runs smoothly that way, that's all good.

However, I also brought my ATV with me on the trip... and without any way to use my VPN service with it, I haven't been really able to use it all that much besides YouTube and Vimeo. I know that I can actually use Netflix here, but there are some licensed contents that won't play here, so I've kept it on my laptop over VPN since the beginning.

That being said, does anyone know of any ATV live streaming apps (any from whatever language or any type) that can be used anywhere in the world?? I don't know how to explain it, but I imagine you guys get what I mean. At this point, I just want to watch anything LIVE on the big tv and give my laptop a much needed break.

On the same note, any other useful interesting apps suggestions (or maybe any workarounds) are welcome too!

    Thanks! (currently in South America)

    Poor picture quality on Netflix

    Posted: 02 May 2020 08:20 AM PDT

    Anyone else notice this?

I have high speed broadband and my Apple TV is wired, so it's not my broadband. Also when I watch Amazon prime for example it's always a really good picture, especially the 4k content.

I have set playback settings to high, it makes no difference.
