    Mirroring to monitor issue. It is connected from the thunderbolt to the HDMI but the apps and other things don’t want to show up. I can only use the top bar. Help please.

    Is the camera on the newest air supposed to be worse than the 2015 air? I just got a 2020 air and the camera has a lower quality, at least in photo booth. I looked it up and I'm pretty sure they're supposed to have the same camera. Is there something in the settings I have to change or is mine just defective?

    Monitor advice for MBP 13" 2017

    Hi, I'm currently looking for a monitor to use with MBP 13" 2017. My current choice is Dell U2414H (https://www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/d7d174). It has DisplayPort 1.2 but its max resolution is 1920 x 1080 pixels. Can this monitor display a sharp text like my MBP does? (Not expecting that it's going to be on par but at least it looks sharp enough that I can't see the pixels)

    Never owned a Macbook but I soon will, do I buy now or wait for the "2021 new one"

    It's just purely for browsing and netflix, I know, expensive "not worth it" but I never treat myself, never buy something nice so today I am. I'm wondering do I wait? or now?

    I follow PC tech heavily and with ryzen chips are forcing massive intel competition, apple are making their own chips now for the 2021 version it will have 15+ battery life and might be even cheaper but not sure obviously, just hearsay.

    I just don't want to splash out and regret it. Also side note, a good case for it would be lovely, I hate scratches

    Force closing sidecar?

    I use Photoshop on my Mac book, and often sidecar it to my IPad. However, using my iPad keyboard (with the case), whenever I press command minus to zoom out, it force closes sidecar, I also notice command i causes this. Is there any way to change key strokes so this doesn't happen?

    13” MacBook Pro a1502 mid 2014 NOT TURNING ON

    A couple days ago, my MacBook Pro died during a software update (poor battery life and I accidentally unplugged it during the update) and now it will not turn on. The screen and keyboard lights do not turn on. The only thing that shows any signs of life is the fan which I noticed when I took the backplate off. The fan runs when I try to boot it up.

    I've tried: - SMC reset - pvram reset - recovery mode - Safe mode

    None of those worked (at least not yet)

    I contacted Rossman group and they said it is "Most likely an EFI firmware corruption issue while updating the OS." They also said it would cost about $200-250 to repair this issue if that's the case.

    Does anyone have any recommendations or experience on how I can fix this myself? $250 is a bit much considering my 2014 MacBook is probably worth around that price.

    Super Ultrawide Monitor Compatibility

    Hey guys, I have an early 2015 Macbook Pro and I'm looking to get a super ultrawide monitor. Anyone know which super ultra wide monitors are compatible with early 2015 macbook pro regarding resolution? I've been researching tons about super ultrawides from LG, Samsung, Dell and Asus but haven't come across anything concrete. From what I've read there are certain resolutions 2015 macbook won't scale to. Also heard of people using 'switchrex' software to match the resolution of a super ultrawide monitor with earlier macbook pros. Anyone have any experience with this?

    Hi, I have a chance to buy a Macbook Pro 2017 2.5 GHz i7 for $800, or buy a 2020 base model Macbook Air. I'm not that knowledgeable on the core speed and threads with single core and multicore. Any idea which one is the better deal to get?

    MacBook Pro 15" Late 2016 (w/ TouchBar) - Your thoughts on repair costs

    On my MacBook Pro (15" Late 2016 w/ TouchBar) one of the USB-C ports has a loose contact.

    During an iPhone repair at a certified Apple reseller, I spoke briefly with a technician about this and was offered to replace the entire lower case of my MacBook Pro. That means new battery, new keyboard, new trackpad and also new USB ports.

    They would charge 120 USD for this. (iPhone Repair not included)

    What do you think - is this a good offer or just a trick to make even more money, because I am already having the iPhone repaired?

    PS: According to CoconutBattery my MacBook battery has 85% design capacity.

    I haven't used zoom yet on my 16 inch (just on my old 2012 and on my ipad. It defs causes overheating on my old laptop, but not on my iPad Air 3. Is it safe to use on my 16 inch, or will it overheat?

    Macbook air: 2019 vs 2020?

    So I'm on the lookout to replace my 2016 Macbook 12" and I see refurbished versions of the 2019 Air on the store. The one with 16gb of RAM is approximately the same price as the base model of the 2020. I'm not sure if I should get 8gb of LPDDR4X or 16gb of LPDDR3.

    I currently run dozens of tabs, slack, vscode, textmate, a few terminals.
