    Hello r/iOS,

    We've been working behind the scenes with developers of your favourite apps to see if any would like to do an AMA with us! We've reached out to both Halide, and Apollo's Developers. Both of which have expressed interest in doing an AMA.

    On Sunday @ 1PM EST we will be hosting our first AMA with the Developers of Halide.

    What is the problem with Apple Mail? Almost everyone uses gmail and there are many complaints about Apple Mail. I don't quite understand why and would like to know what the advantages of gmail or other mail apps are. I haven't found a real problem with Apple mail yet, so I'm interested.

    Is back navigation supposed to be so inconsistent?

    By far my biggest issue with iOS since I switched to my new XS is back navigation. Many apps let you swipe from the left on some screens which is great when it works, but sometimes it scrolls up or down instead. And the biggest problem is many screens don't let you swipe from the left to clear/back, so I'm regularly reaching for the very top left of the screen to press back or X to go back.

    The biggest examples are most search or settings screens. You also have to reach the top of the screen just to pull down notifications. Never once did I have to reach the top of the screen for anything on android, could always swipe around or press back.

    Am I crazy or is this borderline unusable? It's like it's intentionally designed to be inconvenient. How do people with iphones bigger than the XS even do anything? I frequently close an app and reopen it instead of reaching up to press back cause it's more comfortable.

    I already feel like it's very difficult to reach the back/X buttons with my thumb unless I bring in my left hand every time. It would be like having to use a computer mouse with two hands or something.

    Am I doing something wrong?

    Screen time is glitching?

    Something's wrong with screen time on my iPhone X. It shows that the last two days, I didn't use my phone at all, which is incorrect. In the Most Used list, it's also showing apps I don't even have downloaded on my phone! And it's listing every app and website as exactly 1h 1m. Why is this happening? I have my own iCloud account, but my app store is synced with my family on a different iCloud.

    I wish Apple Music would show the metadata for the songs it is playing via the Radio/TuneIn integration; that info is in the stream most of the time.

    I keep getting these ads from calendar and I don’t k ow how to remove them or make them stop. They started out of the blue and just didn’t stop. My guess is that this is some sort of spam but I don’t really know. Could anyone help me?

    Hi, I'm looking for a good app that takes quality scans of old photos. I don't want a subscription, but I don't mind spending a few bucks to get unlimited scanning. I don't need cloud storage or anything. Just something that takes quality scans of old photos. Thanks!

    My 2 best friends spent the past year making this skimboarding arcade game for iOS/Google Play. It got one of them into the UX design program in Washington. They aren’t big on self promotion but I’m extremely proud of them and I think this deserves attention!

    Hello Everyone! my name is Kevin Gannets, i've been a long time Android user who just recently got an iPhone 11 Pro

    Loving the phone so far but there's one thing that I can't get used to and it's the way to play music, i'm very used to downloading an MP3 and it going straight into my music app which just doesn't happen on iPhone

    So my question is, can I play the files app stored music that i've downloaded with an App? I don't wanna keep opening iTunes to put a song on my iPhone (I don't wanna just listen to one song, I want a bunch of music files like 500 of them in a folder and than press shuffle and be able to skip to the next track or go back to previous track etc)

    Managing multiple bluetooth speakers without going to settings

    I connect different speakers for different occasions all the time. AirPods for longer calls, headphones for music when alone, a speaker for music when together

    While Apple is really good at connecting your devices as you start using them, I still found myself messing with the bluetooth menu more than I want.

    With the SHORTCUTS app you get a much faster way to (de)connect the device that you need at the time.

    Once you setup the shortcuts, you can long press on the SHORTCUTS app to connect the speaker, or you can say "Siri, Headphones".
    It's much faster than doing it via settings.

    To setup the shortcut, you open the SHORTCUTS apps, hit create shortcut, hit add action, search for "airplay", select "set playback destination to", select the device, hit next, name the shortcut, hit done.

    That is all. Hope it helps.

    Searching for an app which show you the last musics release relative to your Apple Music library

    I'm looking for an iPhone app that shows the latest music releases from artists in my Apple Music library in a time line. Do you think it exists?

    I'm already using Bandsintown which scans my library to show concerts around me. I would have liked to know if an app on the latest releases exists

    Been trying some of them but I don't see an option to enable notifications for new tweets from choosen accounts. Or am I missing something?

    So far I've tried: Tweetbot 5, Twitterific and Neptune.

    How to delete old passes in Apple wallet?

    I keep reading about opening the wallet and scrolling down to see 'Edit Passes' button but I don't see it. I'm on iPhone 8+ and software version 13.4.1. Pictures or a screen recording would be helpful.

    iPhone 8+ charging question

    My iphone 8+ stops charging after 80% percent during mornings and afternoons but at night it charges up to 100%.

    Few notes:

    *optimized charging is already off. *done with the hard reset/reboot.

    “Hey Siri” Hierarchy: I know everything uses Bluetooth and usage patterns to decide which device should answer when you say it; but I was positive there was a hierarchical list of devices with AirPods at the top. I can’t find it and my curiosity is killing me.

    if youre looking for a step by step for removing or updating your apple pay card then all you need to do is first check that your billing address is right then add your security pin (3 numbers) to the appropriate box.
