    iPhone XS Max not recognizing Siri or Text Dictation

    I have a ~1 year old XS Max and it has stopped responding when I use the "hey Siri" function (yes it is turned on in settings). So I wanted to test if it was my audio receiving and my text dictation isn't typing anything either. My audio records just fine on videos so I'm really not sure what's going on. I tried resetting my phone and that didn't work. I am fully updated on the software. If anyone has any troubleshooting tips, I'd really appreciate it! TIA

    There is a 110v charge on every European Macbook case. I'm tired of being pricked by my notebook and want to get a new one without this defect. Do such Macbook models exist and how to exchange mine for the normal one?

    Can't for the life of me get Airplay and HDMI audio to play at the same time!

    Hello!

    I am trying to output audio from my MacBook Pro 2013 (10.13.6) to:

    • HDMI –> Optoma HD27 Projector, connected to two Dell computer speakers.

    • Airplay –> Sonos speakers.

    The HDMI output volume isn't controllable by the Mac, the Airplay of course is.

    No matter how I tinker with Multi-output/Aggregate Devices, I can only ever get either/or to play. Specifically, as soon as I add Airplay to the Audio MIDI Setup window, it takes over, but if I select the multi-device that would use it under the sound icon on the top menu, it immediately disappear from the Audio MIDI setup window. Any suggestions?

    My friends MacBook Pro 15 inch 2016 suddenly stopped working

    My friends was watching Netflix and out of nowhere the screen flashed and went black, the laptop was still on and playing audio but screen remained black .

    He got a quote on it and the guy was like either screen is broken ($thousands) or main board ($500). The laptop doesn't have AppleCare and he bought it in Dec 2017 so the limited warranty would have run out but I was thinking surely this was faulty system parts/ manufacturing error.

    We live in New Zealand so I was wondering would he be covered under consumers guarantee act . I'm reading the NZ consumer law book for Apple and they state the claim period for product faults is "a reasonable period from date of delivery until the failure becomes apparent."

    Considering it's slightly over two years would that be under a "reasonable period" or do you guys think it's time has passed?

    ipad mini 1 won't turn on. Help?

    Hey guys. My dad got a brand new ipad mini 1 shortly after it was released and only owned it for a few months before he said it turned off one day and never turned back on. I just discovered about this today and got my hands on it after digging around the closet. ipad is in phenomenal physical condition and barely has a single nick on it.

    I've done:

    1) kept it plugged into the outlet for a few hours (using a two different official apple USB lightning cable and wall adapter)

    2) connected the tablet to the computer, and had no success having either the laptop or iTunes recognize the device.

    3) attempted a hard reset on the device multiple times

    4) gently cleaned the port to make sure it wasn't a dust issue

    5) connected the tablet to the PC and then held down the home button to attempt a restoration

    None of these tricks worked and I dunno what else I can try to do. My dad really liked this device and he's been rather unhappy using the amazon fire tablet that was gifted as a replacement. Really wanna cheer him up, especially with everything that's been going on.

    Any advice on what I can do?

    Experience with time-lapse video recording on the iPhone 11 Pro or iPad Pro

    Looking for advice and direction on recording time-lapse videos using either my iPhone 11 Pro or iPad Pro. Additionally, I would be using either the iPad or my MacBook Pro to do editing.

    Does anyone have advice for recording or editing? Software they've found useful? Any other tips or tricks? Thank you in advance!!

    What to upgrade on my iMac to improve performance

    I'm a tech noob but I hope someone can inform me of what is causing my issue. I watch a lot of livestreams and videos off YouTube and sometimes have more than one open at a time, if I am trying studying etc... The problem is none of the videos seem to run smoothly even on 720p. Sometimes when more than one video are open I have to go to 480p definition.

    What is it from my hardware that I need to change to be able to stream more videos at higher qualities?

    have a 2011 model imac that I bought second hand.

    It has a 3.4ghz i7 processor 8gb ddr3 ram AMD Radeon HD 6970M graphics

    I hope that's all the information needed.

    Mac wont let me partition more than 25gb.

    I recently made a 25 gb partition on my mac. Turns out that Catalina is only able to be installed on a 25.06GB space, so I deleted the partition. When I go into disk utility to partition a larger size, like 30gb, it wont let me. It wont let me partition more than 23.3GB, where before I could make a much larger partition. Here's what it looks like. It says that the minimum size for Macintosh HD is 476.61GB. Does anyone know why this is happening and what I can do to fix it?

    Computer specs:

    Macbook pro mid-2012

    Catalina OS

    120GB free hard drive space

    Just switched to the 11 pro max after years of android. Liking it a lot so far.

    The only problem is that I can't figure out how to use google photos and Apple photos / iCloud correctly.

    On android I would have google photos back everything up and I would manually delete the pictures that I didn't like. That's basically what I'm doing now and it works.

    But I'm not sure what to do with the photos app. Right now The only reason I open the app is once a week I go in and delete everything to clear up space.

    It just seems like such a waste of a beautiful app (and time)to do this though.

    Any ideas on how to better utilize both apps? How do you use them?

    Does SMS text messages show up on my Macbook if I'm logged into my Apple account?

    If someone texts me from an Android, does that text pop up on my Macbook?

    So I'm able to use iMessage on my Macbook to message other people on iMessage. It is also synced to my iPhone so if a message goes to my phone, it pops up in iMessage on the Macbook.

    However what happens if someone who is on android, sends me a normal green text to my phone? Does that pop up on my Macbook as well or is it only for iMessages?

    Hi,

    I've got a good working Macbook pro i7 16gb with 2 x Thunderbolt 2 connector.

    I need a high grade Thunderbolt Hub for music production.

    Should I buy a Thunderbolt 2 Hub pre-owned of Ebay ?

    Or could I buy a Thunderbolt 3 (usb-c) hub and an adapter Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter ?

    It seems like the adapters are used the other way around, If you have a new Thunderbolt 3 laptop and want to re-use your Thunderbolt 2 Hub.

    Any advice ?

    Also looking for a 15ft Thunderbolt 2 cable but it seems like the max is 10ft, any idea ?

    Airdrop won't send video anymore (photos work)

    Transferring from iMac (Late 2015; Catalina) to iPhone X. So I don't remember when it happened but at some point, airdrop will not send videos anymore. Though photos still work as usual. I get "Failed to save an item. Save to iCloud Drive instead" The video file is only 14.7MB. Any suggestions? Thanks
