| Unable to reset my password to unlock my apple id account Posted: 26 May 2020 10:32 PM PDT I recently tried to open up iMessage to check in on a group chat I have with my friends and a pop-up showed up saying I needed to type in my apple id password, so I do that and it tells me I need to go to settings to unlock my account. I have to use the email link because when I made the account I put in a fake birthday because I didn't think anything would happen. Kinda stupid in hindsight. When I enter a new password and hit the reset button it shows me a little blue loading symbol and nothing happens. I have tried on a PC and my iPod, and have talked to apple support twice only for the chat to fail after talking to three people including a senior advisor. If anyone can help that would be great. Also, because all three people at the apple support chat said to try this, I can't access my passwords and security tab in my settings. I have had password attempts on two other social media sites including instagram and reddit. [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 26 May 2020 07:24 PM PDT I was running a 2018 13 in MacBook for a class using zoom, an external monitor through a pluggable dock, and working in tableau . I bought a new MacBook 16 in , tonight in the same setup but on the new MacBook the computer ran hot as hell, and the CPI temps were at 100 after the first 20 min of class , so I unplugged it and just ran it laptop only . What is happening and why did the same setup work on the 13 in but not in this one . I see people with more than one extra monitor , why can't mine do one without crapping itself . | Unable to drag and drop icons to specific areas on desktop Posted: 26 May 2020 10:37 PM PDT Like the title says, I'm unable to drop and drop desktop icons in specific areas on my Macbook Pro (2016). It's like the computer thinks there's something there and when I try to drop it, it shoots it away to next available spot - therefore I have these big random gaps on my desktop where I can't place icons. I've had this issue in the past and I can't remember how I fixed it. I've tried restarting both my Macbook and Finder but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [link] [comments]  |

I didn't think of it much then. I usually store my contacts as "name + company" for easy identification. A few days ago, however, to my utter dismay, the contacts of an entire company had disappeared. I tried following several how-tos for recovering my contacts. Every time my phone is set to back up I'm prompt with this message on my iTunes "iTunes could not backup the iPhone because an error occurred while reading from or writing to the iPhone." I'm left stuck and can't find a solution. Everywhere is telling me it's a storage issue but I have 300GB on my computer. I've had this issue for about a year and it's a really strange one and I've never found solutions or anyone else with this same problem. At 9:00 P.M. starting in May and ending in December, my connection to any wifi will cut out and not start back up until I've already woken up. It's done this 2 years now, same time interval and same months. I do not have any setting that would suggest I allow my Mac to do this and it doesn't do this to any other devices in my family. | Don't laugh but I've got 4th gen problems Posted: 26 May 2020 09:18 PM PDT I've got a iPad 4th gen and no real reason to replace it, it usually works great and I've kept it in great condition. Recently though, a lot of my apps have been crashing. I get a few crashes here and there but it's to the point that some apps aren't usable anymore. One of my most used apps, hulu, crashes every 1-3 minutes, like how am I gonna watch any kind of show like that. I thought it was just with that app but it's nearly all of them: twitch, mixer, pandora, sometimes YouTube but not as much, anything classified as a game excluding minesweeper, etc. Prelate help it only started a week or so ago, the only thing I think I changed was my apple payment info [link] [comments]  |

| Changing number on iMessage and FaceTime. Posted: 26 May 2020 08:11 PM PDT Hey guys, so I recently got an iPhone. When I first got it, I used my secondary sim on it. Now that I changed to my main sim, I check and the number that appears in "Send & Receive" is my other phone number despite I changed the sim as well as the number on my Apple ID. It appeared gray yesterday with a circle loading, today it was white but couldn't be checked. How can I change this to my main number? | Why Apple Book Reading Time is not synced across devices? Posted: 26 May 2020 08:00 PM PDT I have my icloud account signed in both in my iphone and on mac. When I read on my iphone, my reading time is counted and I am able to keep my reading streak alive. But, when I read on mac, my books are synced but reading time does not. I have to pick my iphone and read there to complete daily reading challenge. Any idea how to fix this issue? I would really appreciate help as this streak really keeps me motivated to read more. I tried restoring my MacBook Pro from my WD Passport Backup (The WD Passport uses a password, and the WD app to work), but I was not able to do so, and Apple Support indicated that it might be because of the WD app or the password. I had an older Seagate hard drive (without a password or app), and I was able to restore from that easily. | Posted: 26 May 2020 07:19 PM PDT so heres the story, my grandma gets a new ipad pro, asks my little cousins to set it up, and they then proceeded to put in a totally different email and password than hers, answered the security questions with random answers and to top it all off, none of them know what the password to the apple id is so basically, we cant do anything with it unless we have the password which we dont. we cant even switch the email. how can i get this fixed?
