Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:25 PM PDT I've tried the shortcut 'water eject' multiple times but it doesn't seem to work. I can't hear anything at all from the speakers unless the phone is attached to earbuds. [link] [comments] |
Can I start a different plan with an old iPhone? Posted: 28 Apr 2020 11:57 PM PDT Hi, sorry if this is really stupid or doesn't fit the sub. I couldn't figure out where to post it. The person paying my cellphone plan right now is also my abuser. I'm trying to leave, and want to know if I can start a new plan under my name with my current physical iPhone after they cancel it? Like, they cancel the plan and then I get a new plan that I pay for without buying a new phone. How does that work? And can anyone explain how I go about doing it if it's possible? I don't understand any of this stuff. The phone is an iPhone 8, iOS 13.3. Again, sorry if this is the wrong place. If anyone could let me know an appropriate place I could ask this question, I would be so grateful. Thank you for your help! [link] [comments] |

I really need help (possible virus) Posted: 28 Apr 2020 09:15 PM PDT (CONFLICT RECTIFIED) So I got a pop up and it was impossible to close out of it, I kept pressing cancel over and over but the only way to move on was to press subscribe so I pressed it and I was able to press the home button and get in control center. So my problem is, I'm currently subscribed to a calendar from a possible virus and I've tried everything to cancel and remove it. I have screen shots I can send you if you send me a DM since I can't include pictures in this sub. [link] [comments] |
Is it possible to extract data from a disabled iPhone? Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:41 PM PDT My friend disabled an iPhone after 10 incorrect password attempts and desperately needs to retrieve the data. I know Cellebrite has a solution but they only work with law enforcement or businesses. Anyone know of any solutions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:33 PM PDT How do I switch my old iCloud account to a new iCloud account while keeping the data & conversation I had in Whatsapp and other apps. Same device but just switching to a new iCloud account. [link] [comments] |
Questions regarding using voicemail/receiving missed calls when cellular data is turned off... Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:44 PM PDT I have a UK SIM card but am currently in the US. Two questions: 1) While I am abroad, if my cellular data is turned ON, (roaming charges aside) will I still receive calls or notifications of missed calls, and will callers still be able to leave voicemails for me? 2) If my cellular data is turned OFF and someone calls me or leaves a voicemail, when I turn cellular data back ON will I get a notification of the missed call/will the voicemail be in my inbox? Thank you in advance if anyone can help with these! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:33 PM PDT So I've had multiple iPhones before that had no SIM card but I was still able to use iMessage and FaceTime as long as I was connected to internet. Today, i just bought an iPhone off of someone and they factory reset it. I had no trouble signing in to my regular iCloud and whatnot but when I went to message someone on iMessage, the bubble turned green and said not delivered. This phone does not have a SIM but it is connected to my internet and I was trying to text another apple device which is how it's supposed to work. I asked the girl I bought it off of and she said it needs a SIM but I never needed a SIM before. So im thinking, if I put someone else's SIM in my phone just long enough to activate iMessage and then take the SIM out to give back to them, will that like kickstart my messages. I know i can't send SMS but I should still be able to use my iCloud. Why won't it let me ?? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Apr 2020 01:30 PM PDT I got my iPhone XS Max replaced at the beginning of February and it was new. With this new phone till now my battery health is at 86% and it's only been barely 4 months. On my original XS I had it till launch and until needing replacement it was at 92% which is more than a year. Is it a issue with the phone or is it just normal [link] [comments] |
Help! Daughter "Bricked" Her iPhone (Activation Lock) Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:58 PM PDT Big sister was annoyed little sister was using her phone, an 8plus. Big sister changed her passcode--then forgot what it was. Entered the wrong one 18x, and got the "plug in to itunes" screen. She never backed the phone up to itunes. I tried icloud.com but it didn't see the phone (she had it in airplane mode or something?). So I hard reset the phone and let itunes restore it back to factory defaults. When we get to the part where you register the new phone, she gets a screen that asks her for her icloud user name and password or passcode. Since the passcode is a mystery, we use her icloud ID and password--but the phone responds with "This icloud account can not unlock this iphone". So we are kind of stuck. Any ideas? Do I need to wait for the Apple Store to re-open, and wait in hellish lines to get it fixed? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 04:32 PM PDT So I misplace my phone a lot and If my phone is on silent I'm basically forced to log into iCloud to find it. I need an app that has a feature similar to one on the Wheres My Droid app. Basically, if my phone is lost, I want to be able to yell at my room mate to text my phone a keyword the keyword will be recognized and whether it's on silent or not, my ringtone or some other alert will play until deactivated [link] [comments] |
Can apps snap pictures of me without my knowledge? Posted: 28 Apr 2020 02:30 PM PDT If ive given an app permission to use my camera, can they take pictures without my permission? For example, instagram has camera permission because i need it when i take pictures on it, but can it take pictures when i'm not aware/not on the camera screen on the app. I've seen lots of articles about this 3 years ago, don't know if they're lying or outdated. Full storage even though I just deleted 6gb’s of photos and videos Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:13 AM PDT I moved the folders with the pictures to my pc then deleted them thru file explorer. I checked the recently deleted folder, did the date&time reset trick and I still can't figure this out. I hope someone here can help me out thanks [link] [comments] |
Switching SIM cards with 2 iPhones? Posted: 28 Apr 2020 10:09 AM PDT Hi, I have two iPhones, both on Verizon but two different phone numbers. One was previously a company phone, but upon leaving I was allowed to keep the phone. My intent is to transfer my current personal number onto the former company phone. The work phone still has service on it, even after over a month. Is it possible to simply swap the SIM cards between phones and use the former company phone as my personal? Or does the service need to be fully disconnected before doing so? Any help is much appreciated! I've been itching to get off my old iPhone 6 as it's barely hanging on. Thank you in advance :) [link] [comments] |
Messages taking up too much data in iCloud, but not on local storage Posted: 28 Apr 2020 09:43 AM PDT iCloud is telling me that messages are taking up 4.6gb of data, but my local storage shows only 771mb of data is being used on the device itself. What is causing this excess storage on iCloud and how can I remove it while keeping all my local messages on my device, and then re-sync to the iCloud? [link] [comments] |
WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS issue on iPhone SE 2016 Posted: 28 Apr 2020 08:12 AM PDT Bought an iPhone SE (2016) on iOS 11 secondhand. Turns out it had an issue with wifi and bluetooth. I updated to iOS 13.4.1 thinking it would fix it, but still a problem. WiFi is greyed out, can't toggle the button and bluetooth keeps spinning so it actually doesn't work. Also just found out yesterday there's an issue with my GPS being inaccurate and doesn't move with me. Tried network reset, factory reset, and even moved the logic board and screen etc onto another housing that included the small parts. Is this a logic board issue? Cellular data works fine, using it on Xfinity mobile. Does anyone have any suggestions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 07:04 AM PDT So I can't find out what my phone number is for some reason I went into settings down to the phone option and changed the number which didn't actually change my phone number and i can't find the number anywhere else. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:47 AM PDT Ok, so My phone was disabled, and i cant remember the exact code. I`ve tried resetting it and trying to get into the "connect to iTunes" mode, but the problem is that my phone used to say "Unlock iPhone to use accessories" so it wont charge. What do I do now? How can I download mp3 files to my phone(IPhone 7)? Posted: 28 Apr 2020 06:19 AM PDT I make music videos and use music for almost everything, so I find mildly stressful that I can't just transfer the music from my old android to this one. I've tried websites and apps, but the only solution I keep finding is to jailbreak my phone, which I don't want to do [link] [comments] |
iPhone 7 Plus seems to keep restarting? (not even sure what to call it) Posted: 28 Apr 2020 03:23 AM PDT My phone keeps turning on (white screen w black apple logo) then goes dark then goes back to the white screen. Even when trying to restart it does the same thing. It currently is just stuck on the white turning on screen. Any suggestions/anything I can do to fix this? I am about to go to bed so will just leave it for the night. Thanks! Edit: I do have low storage and was trying to clear it up when this all started. Can't even access my phone anymore to clear it though. Don't think having low storage helped with updating.. may be worse [link] [comments] |
