(Updated tonight, actually), the phone had been working fine until about a week ago, when Siri stopped responding. I followed a bunch of guides online, including: -Turn Siri off, restart the phone, then turn Siri back on and set it up as normal (did that) -Check Face ID and make sure allow access when locked is turned on (it is) -Ensure your device is face up (duh) -Check if Siri works with AirPods (it doesn't) -Clean microphone and speakers (done) -Reset your network settings (done) -Force Reset your device (done also) -Look at and possibly change Siri's language (gone from American English to U.K. English) -Check for any restrictions on Siri (none) -Switch on/off dictation (Yup) -and finally, reset all settings (done, set everything back up, still not working). This problem is present in using "Hey Siri", pressing the lock button to bring up the Siri interface, and even in text to speech in iMessage and the notes app. BUT, my phone DOES recognise my voice in the YouTube app, which has no problem whatsoever taking voice commands in the search bar. Since this problem I have updated iOS twice (x2) and neither has rectified the problem. Anyone else experiencing this? And if so, any hints on how to fix it? Any help, much appreciated. Posted: 14 Apr 2020 08:09 PM PDT Hi i own a iphone 7 32gb running ios 13.2.3 and am expierencing heating problems to the point where my iphone 6 was better. I've done countless research to figure if anyone else has this problem but nobody does. I have turned off every unecesarry setting i could find and keep my apps closed all the time. i turned my background app refresh off. I use my phone off and on mostly but it still is giving me heating problems say when i use instagram or use multiple apps at once. I dont remember having this problem with any other iphone i have owned. And even when i am on the phone it heats for no reason. should i update my iphone or just reset it, would that solve my problem? or is this just beyond what i can help with? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 14 Apr 2020 06:07 PM PDT I have an iPhone XR and my Face ID stopped working after updating to iOS 13.4 (lock screen unlock and App Store purchase confirmation), then I updated it to 13.4.1 and I still have the same problem. I tried resetting it and putting my face in again but it says that "Face ID is not available, please try again later." Anyone else have this problem? Posted: 14 Apr 2020 09:33 PM PDT Hello I just noticed that I have not been getting any notifications sounds on my phone even though Silent mode is off and when my watch is turned off (I only wear at work). The only way i'm getting sounds/vibrations is when I turn my Bluetooth off. I haven't played with any of my settings on my watch or phone. | Optimize 6s for video conference Posted: 14 Apr 2020 12:56 PM PDT I need some help setting up my iphone 6s for the best results for my telehealth sessions. Basically, the only computer/device I have with a camera is my 6s. I have a mini as my primary computer but no webcam. Even if I could afford one, I haven't been able to find anything reasonable and mac compatible available in online stores I trust. So far I have had two telehealth sessions and have had to end them early because about a half hour in the audio starts to lag. Ends of sentences are dropped and occasionally the video lags. I've tried moving closer to my router but its made no difference. I'm pretty positive that it is not my internet because I play online video games with my friends across the continent with no lag whatsoever, audio and video. Best I can figure is that I should adjust some settings. I shut every program down except Safari (running the telehealth platform, I do not have the option of another platform). I've tried turning off cellular but its over wifi in my apartment since I don't get service so that didn't seem to make a difference. Any advice you knowledgeable folks would be great. | Posted: 14 Apr 2020 01:41 PM PDT So I was looking at my call log recently and I noticed that all calls made to, from, and missed only to one specific phone number disappeared off my phone and only for one number. The most recent call being made 1 hour ago. I'm home alone so nobody could have touched my phone. Also the calls are almost exclusively FaceTime audio calls with a couple video calls sprinkled in. | Posted: 14 Apr 2020 01:27 PM PDT I've had my iPhone 7 32gb for about a year now. Battery capacity is at 90%, normal peak performance. I've never been close to run out of storage space but lately apps started randomly closing down, not madly, just 2-3 times a day, and today apps started reloading even after a minute of not using them, that has never happened before. I've cleaned up some older apps and did a soft reset, it seems to be a little better now but I'm still testing it. Any recommendations? [link] [comments]  |

I upgraded to an 11 and gave the 7 to my husband and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't charge. I kept my cute pink chord for the car. Come to find out-it will only charge with that chord-no other. | No Text Box in iPhone Group Chat Posted: 14 Apr 2020 08:13 AM PDT Hello everyone, I'm having an issue with a group chat on my iPhone. The bar where you type your messages is missing. I can see new messages coming in but I cannot reply from my phone. However I can reply in the same thread using the Messages app on my MacBook. The other members of the group chat are all using iPhones and it seems to be only me having this issue, and only with this specific group chat. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? My phone and computer are both up to date on software. I have tried turning iMessage on and off on the iPhone but that has not solved the issue. I've tried restarting the phone, quitting the app on my phone, checking the send + receive settings, but nothing has worked so far. Any help would be much appreciated. [link] [comments]  |

I'm on a 6S running 13.2.2 and nothing else gives me issues. All apps run just fine and the phone overall works like it always has. | iPhone XR screen burning lines into screen and resets back to normal when I lock screen Posted: 14 Apr 2020 06:25 AM PDT Hi, so I have and XR that's about a year old now and this morning I was scrolling through Twitter and all of a sudden there were pale vertical bars forming on the screen. I panic and locked the screen and then unlocked it and it was perfectly fine again. Except moment later the bars started to creep in again. If they're there for too long they turn green. But then I lock the phone again and they reset. I've very confused. It didn't get dropped or anything, I use a real apple charger and it was plugged in at the time. Ive turned it off and back on and the bars still come back. here's a video of the bars resetting I apologize for the formatting I'm on mobile. | Posted: 14 Apr 2020 03:59 AM PDT Title says it all. New iPhone X I got is not handling an old 5S backup copy from iOS 11 and is basically bricking the phone. I downloaded the "latest update" from Apple via iTunes and did an update attempt and it's not working. Any idea how to safely get an iOS 11 backup on an iPhone X running iOS 13? I've tried a lot at this point. I'm considering updating the old phone with the backup material to a later iOS if possible (64GB 5S). Also considering upgrading iCloud storage to put backup in the cloud and get it on the new 256GB iPhone X. Any other ideas without having to manually extract data??? Grrr. this is SO aggravating!!! | Battery Warning without Battery Replacement Posted: 14 Apr 2020 01:17 AM PDT Hello Everyone, My boyfriend's iPhone recently shut off while he was on the discord app on his iPhone XS running the most recent version of IOS. When it turned back on he was given a warning saying "unable to verify this iPhone has a genuine Apple battery". This confused us because he's never gotten a new battery in his phone since the phone is fairly new (he's only had it for about a year). We tried restarting the phone a few times hoping it would do something but unfortunately, nothing changed. I tried hard restarting the phone but it also didn't change anything. The phone won't stay on for long even after being charged now, we don't really know what to do since Apple has closed all their stores indefinitely.
