| HELP: iPhone SE: SIM-free vs eSIM option Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:34 PM PDT Tomorrow morning I will attempt to preorder an iPhone SE. I would like to keep the same provider (Verizon) and phone number, but also plan to pay for the phone in full to avoid a 2-year contract with Verizon. In the preorder menu, Apple provides the option to select a carrier or 'Activate with any carrier later.' I plan to choose the latter option, as down the road I would like the choice to select a different carrier. This option also comes SIM-free. I've read that I can contact Verizon and they will provide me with a free SIM card. Would this be a nano or eSIM card? Also, if I select the SIM-free option can I stay with Verizon and keep the same phone number I currently have? [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:24 PM PDT I have a friend whose iphone won't turn on, so I've been tasked to fix it. I can't infer the iOS version, as the phone doesn't even show up in iTunes. I believe the phone was just working fine (there is no physical damage), and it simply shutdown. The phone is completely unresponsive, even after multiple attempts to do a hard reset. Plugging using the iPhone with my computer (yes, it works just fine with another phone) also doesn't yield any response? Help? [link] [comments]  |
| Posted: 16 Apr 2020 02:35 PM PDT I had just recently gotten an iPhone 7 and it had iOS 12.4 on it and it's very smooth and snappy currently and the battery life is actually pretty decent. I would like to update to iOS 13.4.1 though, because of dark mode, the ability to install apps of any size with data and things like garage band and a few other apps that require iOS 13. I'm afraid of updating that many versions up because it actually runs pretty well as of now. Does anyone know what issues may occur with iOS 13.4.1 on the iPhone 7? | Problem with outgoing/incoming calls Posted: 16 Apr 2020 05:39 PM PDT Both my dad and I have iPhone 8's and we seem to have the same issue. Sometimes we can't make or receive calls. For outgoing calls there's no dial tone at all - it's like it's trying to ring but it just never does and eventually the phone hangs up and returns to my contacts screen. For incoming calls we get no notification or voicemail that someone called. The only way to fix this is to restart our phones, but I don't want to have to do that every day, sometimes multiple time a day. We have T-Mobile and I can't figure out if it's a T-Mobile issue or an iPhone 8 issue. Has anyone else ever encountered this problem? [link] [comments]  |
| How do you get the screen to shut off after a period of time? Posted: 16 Apr 2020 04:59 PM PDT I'm getting burn in, so I want to have the screen shut off after a period of time. I go into setting->display and brightness->Auto-Lock and set it to 5min... it does shut the screen down, but NOT when I have something running like Chrome. I was looking for something like a screen saver, but hoping it would be built in, not as a separate app. Also, I'd like it to open/wake with a gesture/home button (whatever) without requiring the passcode each time. I just want the screen to turn off after a period of time so I don't get burn in. [link] [comments]  |

If I delete it directly or via Storage, it still appears listed at the bottom of Settings, and the grid reappears after either a normal or hard restart. In the App Store it simply says "Open", which does nothing when clicked. Signing in and out of iTunes didn't help. Any other options? | Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:39 AM PDT I forgot the passcode to get into my iphone 4 ios ver. 7.1.2. I dont have any backup of the data. So I am trying to bypass passcode lock screen from my iphone by using dr.fone. I have the full version of dr.fone and it seems to be working to bypass the passcode screen, but Im not sure if I want to because I know it will erase all data on the phone, so I was hoping I could do that and then use the "restore data" feature to restore the original data. After the latest update, 13.4.1, I noticed my emoji predictions are no longer working on my iPhone. For example, when I type in "sun" an emoji will pop up and I would select it. Now, I have to type "sun" then switch over to the emoji keyboard and select it. | Unable to mirror videos on my APPLE TV 4K from my iPHONE 7 PLUS Posted: 16 Apr 2020 02:37 PM PDT When I'm watching a tv show through a link (watch series, 123 movies) I always want to mirror the video onto my tv screen through our apply tv from my iPhone. Sometimes this works well, other times it doesn't work. I know that to mirror you start the video on your phone or iOS device and then click the tv icon on the video. I also slide up the menu and just mirror the screen. The video does play on the TV, but here's where it goes wrong: when I full screen the video, it doesn't play. The screen is just all black. On my phone it'll say "this video is playing on your TV" but there is nothing coming up on the TV. So in other words whenever I full screen the video, it doesn't work. Sometimes it does work though. But 90% I can never get it to work. Does anyone know how to fix this problem? It doesn't make sense how sometimes it works and other times it just doesn't. [link] [comments]  |

After updating to 13.4 started to notice instagram would crash when I tried to click on my profile icon and Snapchat crashes when I click on my friends list. So I factory reset the iPhone hoping to fix the problem and it worked. Only thing is now sometimes when I go to wake up my iPhone it requires me to hold down the power button for about 8 seconds before it wakes up normally. | Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:47 AM PDT My phone has been perfectly fine up until yesterday. It died, so I put it on charge. After some time I realised it didn't initially turn itself on, so I turned it on. It showed the apple logo for a few seconds, then the screen went black. Then, the logo came back for the same amount of time before disappearing again. This continued for hours. I then tried to do the DFU restoration a few times, which, when what I assume was the laptop trying to enter and fix the phone, gave me the error 4013. I've looked online, I've tried the suggestions apple gave regarding this error, all to no avail. Apple support is fucking useless, as I need another device to verify myself to do anything with my account or even contact them, which I cant do atm. Any ideas? *Whenever I try to turn the phone on now, the apple logo will pop up then it'll display the web address to support/apple/restore, which I can't do because of the verification issue* [link] [comments]  |

I have set always use "Personal" for my contact "Anze", but the SMS is still always sent from "Business". This is not an issue with Apple>Apple (there iMessage solves the issue), the issue is when I send SMS towards a friend with non-Apple phone. Since photos are disabled on this subreddit this is my case: https://ibb.co/z6hmNhW I read that deleting the message thread should help, well it does not. She is an administrator at a school that has students learning from home due to the virus. Some of these kids don't have computers, and sadly rely on their iPhones to do work. They are doing the work in the notes app. The school has a website which allows them to upload basically any kind of file for grading. She wants to know how they can upload a .txt file created in Notes to the website, just as you would upload a photo to say, Facebook. She cannot tell them to download third party apps as that goes against policy. They don't have iCloud or a computer.
