- Just found out my teacher had all his lectures recorded back in 2013. Split screen with YouTube lecture + Notability, it’s like I’m actually there in class. Plus recording with notability still works with video audio playing through the iPad.

- Is there something you can spray on the outer case of the iPad keyboard cases to make them less prone to looking nasty after 0.0032 seconds? Kind of how you spray suede shoes, but for the keyboard case?
- I just found this old $20 BT keyboard(maybe I got this in 2012) while cleaning my room, and it surprised me to see how seamlessly it works with iPadOS 13.4 particularly the cursor, this just killed my desire to get a MacBook, at least for the time being

Why does the Smart Keyboard act so erratically? Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:24 AM PDT This isn't a tech support question, but just wondering if you Smart Keyboard owners notice so much inconsistent behavior? This morning, the shortcut to lock the screen (command, ctrl, q) was not working, so I did it manually. 20 min later, it was just randomly working again. Sometimes Command H to go home just doesn't work. Sometimes the keyboard is just not recognized at all, and I have to physically reconnect to get it to wake up. I freakin' love this keyboard otherwise, but man, imagine if your Mac just didn't recognize the keyboard sometimes or shortcuts just disappeared randomly (butterfly keyboard jokes aside). To me, these are bugs are impossible to flag to Apple. Am I the only one experiencing this? [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 12.9 Camera - Do people really use it? Posted: 24 Apr 2020 02:34 PM PDT I have a late 2018 iPad Pro 12.9", and I really don't think I've used the rear camera once. It surprises me to see Apple is investing so much into the rear camera for this form factor. The main selling point of the 2020 model seems to be the rear camera set-up, but personally, I see almost no use in this. I'm sure there are some out there with use cases for the rear camera, but for the general consumer of an iPad Pro 12.9", this seems like it's not really a selling point. Do others agree? What makes you use a huge iPad as your camera opposed to your iPhone? [link] [comments]
University Student iPad Pro 12.9-inch 2020 + magic keyboard setup Posted: 24 Apr 2020 12:13 PM PDT I just got my first iPad setup complete with the magic keyboard and Apple Pencil 2nd generation. So I made a YouTube video about it. You can ask me any questions relating to this if you want! 😊😊 I hope you enjoy but please note that I'm very new to this. [link] [comments]
Shout out to the iPad for keeping me sane during quarantine Posted: 24 Apr 2020 09:23 AM PDT I know this might seem kind of silly but I'm so grateful for the iPad Pro, and for how powerful of a machine it is. I'm only working 10 hours a week for the time being, which has freed up a ton of my time. I knew from the beginning of quarantine that I wanted to hone my art and guitar skills, and I also figured my iPad could easily be the hub of it all. And I was right! To maintain sanity, I go to bed around 10 and wake up at 6:30-7am. Right when I wake up, I make coffee and begin my learning. I've been spending enormous amounts of time on Procreate, and after months of my art being stagnant I'm finally starting to see improvement! My friend and I have been following Bob Ross videos via FaceTime (he also has an iPad/pencil) and it's been a blast. I'm also able to go out in the woods with my iPad and do outdoor painting. As for guitar, I only use the Ultimate Guitar app and Spotify for referencing songs. I'm also able to plug my USB mic into my iPad through a USB hub and record videos of my playing. Afterwards, it's super easy to separate the audio from the video for EQ/effects. This makes for videos with really nice audio quality. GarageBand makes it a breeze to quickly record guitar ideas too, before they slip away. All in all, my brain is overdosing on creativity these days and I LOVE it!! This thing is such an amazing tool and I truly believe the future of computing lies somewhere in this form factor. Apple is very close to nailing it. [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Apr 2020 07:55 AM PDT Title. Did a quick search in the sub before posting, didn't find anything relevant. I think this is a great function. Just wish we could assign a different app, since I use Good Notes. [link] [comments]
Trackpad alternatives for iPadOS Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:28 AM PDT Does anyone know of any alternatives to Apple's Magic Trackpad / Trackpad 2 that will support all iPadOS 13.4 gestures? I don't want to spend the money for a Magic Trackpad and don't want to use a mouse, but would like all gestures including support for Slide Over, flicking apps away on the multitasking screen, etc. Thanks. iPad Pro 11 vs 12.9 - different brightness and color tone Posted: 24 Apr 2020 10:55 AM PDT I bought the 11 and 12.9 inch iPad and it seems like the 11 inch has a "better" screen. I gets brighter and the white looks more like actual white compared to the 12.9. I have tried this with "true tone", "dark mode" and "night shift" on and off. Also compared them with 100% battery and the 11 inch always had the better and brighter screen. I made a short video to show what im talking about: https://youtu.be/SSCiCgs36HU What do you think about that? I don't think that's the way it should be, right? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Apr 2020 05:50 AM PDT Just got my 2020 iPad Pro 11 256GB WIFI and thing that has impressed me the most is the controller support the ability to play console quality games. Now "console quality" does very in quality from something like Max Payne at like PS2 quality to something like Fortnite which is more like XBOX One quality with the added benefit of 120 FPS support. I know Apple really wants to push Apple Arcade since it will start a continuous revenue of subscriptions but quite honestly with the power the A12 processor lineup in a lot of iPads across the board now the ability to play PC/Console ports like NBA 2K20, the GTA series, and others with controller support is a massive for mobile gaming. The Nintendo Switch and even Dell's Alienware UFO concept have shown there is a huge hunger to game nearly anywhere and while the Switch has been hugely successful its Nvidia Tegra X1 chip it just can't keep up with Apple's A12Z and app optimization with it's hardware since there aren't any switch games that can come close to running 120FPS on the Switch. Furthermore while the Alienware UFO is just a concept the idea of taking PC games and putting it in a bulkier Switch like package seems amazing but cooling, cost, and battery life are huge issues. In a time were publishers like EA and 2K has been criticized for constantly releasing games as mere roster updates and games riddled with micro transactions you would think more publishers who push heavily to port their games to mobile for the huge revenue bump. Call of Duty is a huge example of combing elements of their whole series into one mobile game and while the game is clearly riddled with micro transactions the game with a controller runs smooth and is very addictive. My last tablet was a iPad Air 2 and at the time the unit was very fast but mobile gaming was limited to wonky on screen controls and the ability to run console quality games still was not there. I still think iPadOS has huge potential and in terms of gaming it has a way to go but at this rate I am very bullish on the iPad as a mobile device as long as publishers can continue to add controller support to existing games and publishers continue to port over full on versions of their console/PC games to the App Store. turning bluetooth and wifi completely off in control center Posted: 24 Apr 2020 08:26 AM PDT you can just keep airplane mode ON, and then when you toggle wifi or bluetooth, they will toggle between on and off instead of "off until tomorrow" (my ipad doesn't have cellular connection so i don't know what it does with mobile data) [link] [comments]
CAPS lock on new Magic Keyboard Posted: 24 Apr 2020 11:35 AM PDT I just got the new magic keyboard 12.9 inch for the ipad pro. I am loving it. I have an issue I cant seem to figure out how to fix. When I press my caps lock button my new magic keyboard, the light does not light up, and instead the caps lock cycles through my many "language keyboards". I looked in settings and caps lock is on default to perform caps lock, yet this isnt the case. Can somebody help me get caps lock to light up and work right? [link] [comments]

I wish the volume buttons orientated to the direction the iPad is. Posted: 24 Apr 2020 08:56 AM PDT I just got my Magic Keyboard in and I'm loving it so far. I just wish that the volume buttons on the top of the IPad rotated to the correct orientation while its docked. The fact that volume up is to left and down is the the right really bothers me. How do you browse reddit on your iPad? Posted: 24 Apr 2020 06:33 AM PDT Hey there. I just got my first iPad 2 weeks ago and still haven't figured out a good way to browse reddit. I tried using Safari but it wasn't fluid enough and getting around felt unnatural. And the reddit app is not well put together for iPad in my opinion. There's just too much wasted space. All of the screen is almost empty. What do you guys prefer? Edit: After reading the comments I downloaded Apollo and... I honestly don't understand what do you guys like about it. It is almost exactly the same with the official app, especially about that wasted space issue. [link] [comments] |
