Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:22 PM PDT I was in the market for a new mini to replace my gen 4, and when I went on the AT&T website, the shipping dates for the mini and Air models were pushed back to a July delivery date, while the iPad Pro models could ship almost instantly. The mini/Air hasn't been refreshed in a year and with the exception of the hiatus between the mini 4/5 & Air 2/3, they have released yearly with 350-400 days in between refreshes, placing us in the ideal timeframe for one. AT&T may have done this to prepare for orders of a new generation and start to phase out the sales of these iPad models -- this is what they and other retailers have done before the launch of products. Sources: AT&T mini, AT&T Air, AT&T pro (for shipping comparison), Refresh timeframes TL:DR: iPad mini/Air refresh cycle reached, AT&T seemingly for orders of a new generation and phasing out the sales of these iPad models -- this is what they and other retailers have done before launch. Thoughts? I'm probably crazy. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 11:31 AM PDT We have a project and I don't like turning the webcam on. We're all using headsets with microphones so discussion is fine. But I'd like us to be sharing written ideas as well. [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 03:03 PM PDT So, I just got my 12.9 inch iPad Pro in the mail today, it's the first one I've ever had. I've never really done much drawing before, but I've always wanted to try and get into it. I've got an Apple Pencil 2, and I figure that there's probably some sort of accessible software for someone like me who wants to try out drawing/learn how to draw digital art. Do you all have any recommendations? [link] [comments]

Waht do you use for news consumption on your iPad (and iPhone) Posted: 16 Apr 2020 03:05 PM PDT What do you guys use for your news consumption? I used to exclusively use flipboard and loved it, but when the ads became more extreme and the layout changed I started looking for alternatives Im a bit torn between an aggregator that chooses the best sources automatically vs me having to know the best sources to be checking I have; Feedly - Can be a bit overwhelming and one where I have to rely on myself having the best sources selected Apple news - Similar to feedly but with a good overall news section but poor layout IMO Google News - Not a massive fan of it, but the front page news stories were always good when i used to have android too [link] [comments]

MIDI Drum control and monitoring Posted: 16 Apr 2020 09:22 AM PDT Hi! I have a 2019 ipad pro 11, and I'm wanting to use it to connect via midi to my electronic drum kit and also monitor the output. I've seen posts saying I'll need some form of camera connection/convertor but for older lightning connection ipads - is the same true for usb c connections? What kit are you using for midi - usb c? Cheers! [link] [comments]
Bought myself an iPad mini! Any recommendations to make the best out of it? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 08:00 PM PDT I bought myself an iPad mini and it is my very first iPad as well! Initially bought this to use it to watch shows and movies on a not too small yet not too big of a device since I love to watch shows while waking around the house or even brushing my teeth and also to FaceTime others during this time and pretty much from now on. Wondering if there's any app or game recommendations I can get on this to really make the best out of my experience? Anything helps! I'm loving this device btw and the battery life is amazing, I have to say. [link] [comments]

Posted: 15 Apr 2020 05:15 PM PDT I was wondering which is better to use on my ipad pro for university. I have read different posts but couldn't find which is best for me in my case. My needs are as follows: 1- University needs, mostly technical writings (equations, diagrams, mind maps, code) with occasional language based notes. 2- Best esthetics? Has the most amount of diversity in pens and colors and tools, and a variety of useful functions that you would find in normal paper note taking. 3- Adding extra notes on powerpoint slides (pdfs etc.), usually two slides on one page. Which is best for writing on external documents? 4- Taking lecture notes from scratch. Which is best when im looking to take neat notes, can they convert to text? The easier app to use when taking notes while listening to a lecture (easy erasing, highlighting, easy switching pen styles etc.) 5- Organization of notes. Can notes be stored (as a drive?) on either app? etc. 6- Studying. Which app is easier to multitask with. For example searching google and readings while writing notes and screenshoting/copying things from an app to the notes etc. 7- First timer with digital note-taking, which is most similar to paper note taking, which is easier to update to? Main problem is I would like to get one app, but my needs seem to be divided into both of the apps, neither have everything i need. Which one is better? Thank you in advance! [link] [comments]

Super scratched paperlike 1 after 2 weeks Posted: 16 Apr 2020 07:52 AM PDT So i bought the paperlike about 2 weeks ago and already have tonnes of scratches all over it. The scratches are deep enough to create a slight rainbow effect. I just wanna know if this is normal or am I just being too aggressive with it. I've had the iPad for over a year now and had just a generic matte screen protector over it before which was fine but it was *very* pixelated. Pictures of the scratches and an artwork I did to give some context to how much work I did on it (if that helps). The only drawing i did with it Is the paperlike 2 better for this problem? because i do like it its just too expensive to be behaving like this. Has anyone tried the silicon tips with a glass screen ? or recommend any other screen protesters? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:19 AM PDT Now that there is added mouse support in ipadOS 13.4, Logitech should add its flow capabilities to iPad, this means I won't have to keep switching pairing presets on my Mx Master 2s every time I want to switch between my iPad and MacBook. It would be a great feature! [link] [comments]
Sharing screen / presentations in Microsoft teams Posted: 16 Apr 2020 01:32 AM PDT Hi, I was wondering using MS teams on a ipad, can I easily share my screen during a video chat, and for example show a powerpoint presentation on office365? I did some research on it and it seems you can do it, but I would appreciate to hear some real life experience of how it's working for people. [link] [comments]
Are there any apps that take advantage of the new LiDAR Scanner? Posted: 15 Apr 2020 02:23 PM PDT I know the stock Measure app and some ARKit-based apps use the sensor to enhance the experience but I was wondering if there are any 3rd party apps available that can do stuff like 3D scanning, etc. Thanks! Posted: 15 Apr 2020 09:40 PM PDT Started tweaking the settings on my new iPad Pro 11" (2018) and came to a crossroads: What's the consensus on Siri Search & Suggestions settings? Better to disable, tweak or let 'em ride? Feel free to sound off with advice. Thanks. [link] [comments] |
