Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? - April 27, 2020

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 09:12 PM PDT

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

New to iPhone, just got the SE. Plz recommend paid games!

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 05:09 AM PDT

I like all sorts of games. I would say something that is not too expensive (less than 10) but also playable with the iPhone SE 2020 tiny screen.

My most played mobile games are probably zen/William pinball and Meteorfall. I particularly like meteorfall a lot, that sort of card roguelike and autosave everywhere makes it perfect for mobile.

I also liked Stardew valley a lot on Android but I'm not paying full price again...

    Thanks for your help!

    Help remembering old iOS games??

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 12:10 AM PDT

There was a serious of old iOS games it was a pocket monsters type concept. It was also in this specific genre of early iPod touch games where you could download 10 or 20 different versions of the app that would each give you different amounts of in-game currency to open new monsters and strengthen yours to fight others. Does anybody remember the name of these games?

League of Legends Mobile: Everything we know so far about LoL Wild Rift

Has anyone played this? Looks fun but has IAP..

Looking for a post apocalypse strategy game that i played long ago.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 03:59 AM PDT

In the game youre a president. You can make choices by swipping the card in the middle to left or right to manage 4 factor which is army, environment, health and morale iirc. If one of them gets to high or low its game over but youre stuck in a loop and keep revive and die but the timeline keeps going until you reach the ending. The game has a 2nd part where you control the acient egypt.

Ive been trying so hard to recall the name and even looked through my library but cant find it. I remember most of the story and choices and characters but just dont know the name. Thank you all for your answers and sorry for my bad writing skill.

Edit: at the start of the game you have a conversation with a white entity which is time and is responsible for your loop

    Edit2: its a f2p with IAP

Edit3: YES thank you i saw the notification that said Lapse: a forgotten future but somehow dont see the comment. Thank you very much i am very happy right now but did anything happened to it i cant find it on appstore

    Badland brawl is kinda good

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:12 AM PDT

Its a lesser known game that is set in the same universe that the game BADLAND is and you have probably heard of that one :3 but i recommend this game as Its VERY addicting and has a nice and active supporting community :) Progress is steady and not too slow nortoo fast so casual players can still get a nice experience, The game does have a Trophy road like Fortnite or clash royale does, but it is a very F2P friendly game, and more players are always welcome!

The game is like clash royale, except it is 2d and heavily physics based, there are two towers and a bridge between them you must sling out different clones (troops) to do different Things kn the field, because of its physics the game has many Combos where two clones are combined to make a destructive Combo, the goal is to get your clones into the enemy base, and destroy it, every match a special event will occur doing a strange different thing, To spice up the battle, And the team works on releasing new updates every month and new clones every two months, And even better, the game is FREE!

Did Apple remove the ability to download iOS apps/games from iTunes version 12.6.3 and below?

    Posted: 27 Apr 2020 09:26 AM PDT

Apple made it possible to download apps/games on these versions of iTunes, but now I can't seem to download any apps/games for backup purposes. Is it just me or did they remove that feature?

looking for 'classic' two player card game apps

    Posted: 26 Apr 2020 05:21 PM PDT

I'm looking for a few basic card type games I can play with my mother. We're not really looking for anything fancy...just your basic gin/gin rummy, dominoes, etc. Maybe some old board games.
So far everything I've found is just player vs computer, except for Gin Rummy Plus, which cost $$ for two specific people to play each other (moms a die hard NOPE on spending money on most games and I admit to having been spoiled by Androids Google Rewards app).
    THanks!

If anyone wants to see how Hue plays on iOS past the demo, I wrote a review and included some gameplay videos. TL;DR: It’s nearly unplayable with touchscreen controls and has no controller support.
