Is it just me? I have to quit apps and open them again all the time. Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:21 PM PDT Netflix, prime, plex, YouTube, whatever app tbh. If you want speed, latest content, the app must be closed via double tap+swipe up. It's quite annoying. It's only useful to "resume" an app if I'm watching something and switching between apps, but in all other cases, a proper quit/reopen is required to be able to have performance and not that rare, fresh content. Netflix is specially slow if I'm using the app without restarting it after a few days of use. [link] [comments]
Best setup for video calls through TV? Posted: 01 Apr 2020 11:25 PM PDT I've been trying to figure out the best (seamless/inexpensive/privacy-conscious) way to set up video calling through our TV. It seems like everything has major downsides:
What setup do others have that they LOVE? And how is this still so awkward in the year 2020? Edit: spelling is hard [link] [comments]
Webcam for Apple TV without mirroring iPad/Mac Book Posted: 01 Apr 2020 11:09 AM PDT Is is possible to set up a webcam to work with an apple TV without using an iPad or Mac Book as a mirror. I'm trying to set up Zoom for my kid in kindergarten on the home TV in a way that doesn't let the kid press any buttons during zoom classes. Doing that on an iPad or Mac Book has proven to be nearly impossible without creating a custom enclosure for the device of clear plastic or glass. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Apr 2020 04:06 AM PDT I've been having this issue for a while, where my Apple TV defaults to playing sound to all the Airplay 2 speakers in my house, I've restarted all the devices, checked my settings but when this started it just kind of...happened, and I'm running out of ideas. Can anyone help? [link] [comments]
Posted: 01 Apr 2020 09:24 PM PDT I have an Apple TV 4K. Plugged into Sony Z9F soundbar. Into a Roku TV. Westworld on HBO Go on the ATV is in stereo, but if I switch over to the HBO GO app on the Roku TV it's in Dolby surround. Is this a new issue or have I just not noticed it before? Posted: 01 Apr 2020 09:04 PM PDT Is anyone else getting an error when trying to open their Netflix profile? I keep seeing Error Sorry something went wrong. Please try again later. I already updated the app and restarted my AppleTV several times. I can see netflix fine on my Macbook. [edit] Uninstalling and reinstalling the app fixed it! [link] [comments]
So I watch YouTube videos, pause them, then turn off my television... Posted: 02 Apr 2020 12:29 AM PDT And when I turn the television back on, or change back to that channel, the video automatically starts playing without me un-pausing. Is this an Apple TV feature? Can I turn it off? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Apple tv 4K, need to use regular HD Posted: 01 Apr 2020 01:08 PM PDT Normally my apple tv is set to 4K resolution. I moved it to a different tv that only support HD. It wont show anything on the screen. How to i set it to HD without going back to my 4K tv? [link] [comments]
Home Videos on multiple devices - Apple TV App Posted: 01 Apr 2020 09:48 AM PDT Sorry if this has been answered before... I have some old games (mp4) from teams I follow and from when I played and coached.. I went into the Apple TV app on my laptop and imported them into the app. It auto-populated them into a new category named "Home Videos". Will these eventually show up on the TV app across all my devices or strictly my MacBook? It would be super nice to watch these on the Apple TV hooked up to our tv. Thanks in advance! AppkeTV 4k keeps adding movies from the Library to Up Next Posted: 01 Apr 2020 04:16 PM PDT Does anyone else have the issue where a bunch of random movies from your Library show up in Up Next? Any idea how to fix that with clearing them one by one? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Purchase Gift Movie through Apple TV App? Posted: 01 Apr 2020 12:10 PM PDT Is it possible to purchase a movie for a friend as a gift in the Apple TV app on Mac or iOS? Haven't found an option to do that.. [link] [comments]
Apple TV app not playing 4K on Firestick 4K? Posted: 01 Apr 2020 07:45 AM PDT I have movies I bought on iTunes/Apple TV that are in 4K. My firestick and TV are 4k and I am able to view 4K Amazon prime videos, but for some reason the Apple TV app doesn't trigger the TV to switch into 4K. Any thoughts on things that I can do? Same Monitor for Apple TV and PC Posted: 01 Apr 2020 06:28 AM PDT I am thinking of buying the 4K version of Apple TV to watch movies on my 4K monitor (Dell UP3216Q). Is it possible to connect the Apple TV to the monitor without having to unplug the monitor from my PC each time? The video card which the monitor is plugged into is GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. Also, would I have to unplug my Ethernet cable from my PC and to connect it to the Apple TV each time I would like to watch a movie on Apple TV, or can I use the WiFi from my router somehow? Sorry if the questions are stupid — I've never had an Apple TV or anything similar before. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Coubicle app - next update in the works, ideas welcome Posted: 01 Apr 2020 11:31 AM PDT Hi guys! I've currently got some free time on my hands and was thinking of tackling some things which annoy me most in Coubicle, as I still use it from time to time. For those who never used it - it's a party mixer app taking the content from Coub.com service, allows you to choose a category and provides a never ending stream of funny content. I think of it as a party background thing to leave running on TV. Most annoying thing for me was content which I wouldn't like to see while automatically going through a category, such as anime and gaming clips. Previously it wasn't possible to do using Coub APIs, but another dive these days uncovered that they added some additional tag fields, which could allow to categorize content now. I appreciate it might have annoyed only myself, so I'm trying to think of a way for that to be customizable. So current roadmap for the update is:
Is there anything else you would like to point my attention to? Would you be interested in testing that? [link] [comments]
How to transfer ripped movies to Apple TV app on Samsung smart tv Posted: 01 Apr 2020 02:53 PM PDT Hope everyone is staying safe! I have a Samsung smart tv that has the appletv app but not a physical Apple TV. Does anyone know how to transfer non apple purchased movies to my Appletv app? I got it working for my laptop but I can't see the movies I transferred on my tv. Thank so much! [link] [comments]
