Refurbished Apple Watches through third party sellers?

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 06:38 AM PST

Long story short, I dropped my apple watch at work and the repair cost is insanely high and not really worth it since it is cheaper to just buy a brand new refurbished watch. I live in Australia and currently there isnt any refurbished watches up at the moment. My question is, can I trust sellers like Dick Smith, or should I just wait for availability, or even spend the money to repair it.

Workout without equipment app (home workout by myself)

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 05:08 AM PST

I'm looking for an app for Apple Watch which allow me to create my own workout routines and use it to track my workouts. It would be nice if it will have an image of the exercise on Watch during routine (I don't know all English names of workouts). The thing is - all the apps I tried from App Store (recommended here or just found on App Store by myself) are meant to use at the gym with gym equipment (or have very small amount of non-equipment exercises or don't support HealthKit or don't measure heart rate during workout or don't have an Apple Watch app). I prefer standalone app (have Apple Watch cellular with gps) but since I'm working out at home - the phone will be near by anyway.

I don't mind paying for the app (reasonable price or subscription). For now the apps which I'll test more are: - Streaks Workout - Lean (nice base of exercises, need some polishing, don't have image for current exercise on Watch)

I'll try 7 minutes workout from Perigee to see what kind of exercises are there with Premium version, but monthly subscription price is at that level for me that it need to be perfect on premium.

Do you have any other recommendations or experience with those app I've mentioned?

    Text message delete mirror

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 04:35 AM PST

When I delete a text from my phone, shouldn't it delete from my watch and vice-versa? I am able to handoff phone calls both ways. An Apple support rep told me to restart both devices, then to unpair and re-pair my watch to my phone. I had already tried both methods to avoid "customer support". Any help is greatly appreciated.

It’s possible to make the watch always white instead of turning black when you’re not facing it?

My Apple Watch locks itself every night

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 03:27 AM PST

I'm wearing it all night while I sleep (I use AutoSleep for sleep tracking) with Theater Mode, DND and Airplane Mode enabled. I set an alarm on it and I end up waking up to the alarm playing a sound (which isn't normal because Silent Mode is usually on) and when I check, the watch is locked.

Anyone have any ideas why this is happening? It only started around the end of last week and is still ongoing. I've tried tightening my band one step (I'm wearing the sport band).

Wrist detection is also enabled and works properly outside of this.

    Exercise ring not corresponding!

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 03:21 AM PST

I have a series 4, on watch OS 6.1.3 Since the upgrade to the 6-th OS version I have stumbled upon on a unusual behaviour. Usually the exercise ring progressed constantly with all of the movement throughout the day, either if I train or not. However on a normal resting day, without training at all, the watch barely moves the percents. I tried to recent the motion and calibration many times, but I don't think that help. When I go to the gym and train for an hour or two, the device is exceeding the exercise goal.

What could be the reason for this ?

    Did I do something wrong?

Distance tracking Series 1 vs. 2

    Posted: 03 Mar 2020 03:08 AM PST

    Hey iWatchers,

I have a question regarding the way of how the Apple Watches Series 1 and 2 measure the "walked" distance while not being connected to the iPhone.

I own the Series 1 and as it doesn't have GPS, it can only measure the distance via step count and acceleration (right?). This leads to adding distance constantly, even when I'm sitting at my desk because the watch falsely counts certain movements as steps. The Series 2 however has GPS. Therefore my question is: Does the Series 2 use the GPS to prevent counting those extra steps (at all or towards the walked distance) as it can detect you're not really moving or does the measurement function just the same way as it does with the Series 1 and the GPS doesn't have any influence on measuring the distance?

I hope I explained my question well enough and that someone knows the answer. Thank you!

Apple watch 1 in 2020, what drawbacks?

    Posted: 02 Mar 2020 10:34 PM PST

So I just recently got an iPhone, and am wondering if a 110 apple watch 1 is worth it in 2020, and what drawbacks there are?

Anybody know why my Apple Watch is doing this in the middle of the day? Haven’t changed any settings or anything and it’s been synced since the series 3 came out
