Bypass passcode on iPad without restoring it (Siri not enabed)? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 12:04 PM PST My dad passed away and I ended up with his old iPad (from 2015 I believe). I know he has family photos on it which I'd love to access. I thought I had the passcode, but it doesn't seem to be working. I've scoured the internet for a way to bypass the passcode but it seems the only way to do it is to erase the iPad which I really don't want to do. The other option is to use Siri (which is disabled) or login to his Apple account (I don't have that info). I'm at a loss. There's gotta be a way to do this, but I can't find any information out there on the topic. Anyone have a clue? Thanks! UPDATE: I called Apple and they want me to provide a court order naming me as the rightful heir of the iPad device in order to help. That's insane. If anyone has a workaround, I'd be so grateful. Alt+delete and ⌘+delete is still not supported for hardware keyboards and it’s slowly driving me mad Posted: 04 Feb 2020 11:02 AM PST I hope I'm not the only one who uses these shortcuts all the time... Not trying to cause a brigade or something but https://feedbackassistant.apple.com is the place for Apple suggestions, and I'm pretty sure it's more likely to get fixed if they get multiple reports. Yet another post regarding iPad storages and more Posted: 04 Feb 2020 02:18 PM PST I know there are some other posts that are very similar, but I can't have some peace of mind until I ask it. Since I'm planning to buy an iPad (my first one btw), I'm seriously doubting about which storage capacity to get. I'll also have some other random questions by the end of the post. Storage:Both versions (32gb and 128gb) are currently on sale for 345€ and 421€, from 379€ and 479€ respectively, I already have an android tablet with 32gb and for my current usage, which is basically taking notes for college, storing a few pics, around 3-5gb of music, very rare gaming, Netflix/Youtube and some other random apps, is enough (I have around 9-10 free gb of storage right now). I know that 32gb will be fine for me this remaining year and a half of college, since I don't think I'll do anything else with it, but I don't know what will happen next. It's worth noting that I have both Linux and Windows computers (no Macs), so I will rely heavily on cloud (concretely OneDrive) for storing/sharing files and media between all my devices, which may help with not having my iPad bloated with files. The question is, should I aim for the 128gb version? I know it's the safest option, as iPads tend to last around 4 years, which is a lot of time. I can afford it, more or less, but since I also want to buy the Apple Pen and (probably) a keyboard, the price will ramp up to around 540€, which is...a little more than what I would like to spend. Other random questions:
I'm sorry for such a long post. I'll appreciate any input you give me. [link] [comments]

Hello all. Has there been any news or rumors about an even larger iPad? Posted: 04 Feb 2020 03:18 PM PST I absolutely loved the size of the 12.9 inch iPad Pro, but I would like to have even a little bit large! Maybe 15in flat or even 16in flat. I mostly stream video on it, but also play some games(BTD6 is outstanding on iPad Pro 12.9) and would love an even larger screen. As far as I'm concerned, there's no screen size too big up until around 18 or 19 inches, then it starts to get a little goofy. [link] [comments]
Any chance of apple making a regular iPad such as the iPad 7 but in a 12 inch size Posted: 04 Feb 2020 03:07 PM PST I don't need the power of the pro as all I do on my iPad is reddit and YouTube. I'd love to be able to get one with a larger screen. Also to add to my question, I have the iPad 6 currently the one with Apple Pencil support. I've been told it isn't worth it to upgrade to the 7. I'm so hoping the 8 has the screen size I want. Even if it was a little more expensive. I also like that it retained the headphone jack. I have AirPods but I don't prefer them, sadly. Wires are just more flexible, can use them no need to ever charge. As of now my iPad 6 is my main computer and it works very well for my needs. [link] [comments]
Seeking info on Pelican Case (or similar hard case) for 2018 12.9 iPad Pro Posted: 04 Feb 2020 02:37 PM PST What's up r/ipad, I apologize if this is a topic that's been exhaustively covered. I've been digging in this subreddit and others, including the "What Should I Buy" thread, but I've not yet got the answer I seek. Maybe there isn't one. Last July, I bought a 2018 12.9" iPad Pro and a cheap case for it, and it's worked fine. I throw it in my everyday bag in the padded pocket and I have 0 signs of bending or warping. So, life is good for everyday case/carry solutions. I also collect Pelican cases, I've got about five, and I want one for the iPad for when traveling. Something I can put in the bottom of my luggage and not worry about. Not the Pelican Voyager, not an Otterbox--not UAG. Just a (somewhat) slim, hard-sided case with foam like you'd have for a gun, camera, or laptop. HARD, not semi-rigid. Doesn't have to be Pelican brand, per se. I've checked Amazon, Pelican, B&H, a few others, even found a wooden one on Etsy. I've found threads where people talk about finding products like this for their 11" iPad Pro, or otherwise an older/different model. I'm surprised there's not more discussion on this topic or similar products. Pelican makes several laptop cases, some ranging from rather small and thin to bulky suitcase-style things with organizers and a shoulder strap. There are tablet cases that seem to be indeed designed for the older model iPads--but not mine. There are laptop cases but they seem ill-fitting and rather confusing-- similar-sounding model names with different functions, 1070CC, 1075, i1075, P1075, ad nauseam. So, I found this one: https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/laptop-case/hardback/1070cc After comparing the dimensions online and watching a couple YouTube videos, I almost bit the bullet and bought the Pelican 1070cc, and discovered a thread in this sub by a guy named discoborg. This person bought the same model and I followed up via DM, asked how it worked out. His reply: "There just was not enough material left after using the dremel tool to make the case wide enough. The sides were too thin afterwards." Not super encouraging. Even with modifying it, not a good fit. But clearly there is relevant info out there among the Reddit community. So, I'm asking you people. What are your experiences with hard shell cases for your 2018 iPad Pro 12.9? Any product suggestions? Or to avoid? Otherwise, how would you protect your iPad in checked baggage, or stored under a Greyhound, or in event of nuclear war? So, I found another thread ("Hard shell carry case for 12.9 pro") where people recommended Otterbox this and Dodo that...not the right thing. On advice from the bottom comment, the way I'm leaning now is to go up a size and get the 1085 with pluckin' foam. Maybe I can fit a couple accessories with it. https://www.pelican.com/us/en/product/cases/laptop-case/hardback/1085 Maybe the answer is to buy a few on Amazon, see what fits, send the rest back. Your top 5-10 must-have apps on your iPad Mini 5? (Other iPad users welcome ofc) Posted: 04 Feb 2020 01:46 PM PST That's the question, I'm a new user in this world and at least i find the same stuff that I love use on Android, and it is: 1. Google package : Search - Chrome - Drive - Docs - Keep 2. Reddit 3. Tapatalk 4. Netflix & YouTube 5. Spotify & Tidal & Shazam. I hope I find something interesting here to give another kind of usage to this beautiful device. [link] [comments]

Apps to broadcast iPad screen to Youtube Posted: 04 Feb 2020 09:15 AM PST Hi! I am looking for decent apps to broadcast iPad screen content to Youtube. I started playing a puzzle game on the ipad recently(Poly Bridge), For no particular reason, I want to livestream my gameplay to youtube. Please recommend apps I can use to do this. So far, I have been using Omlet Arcade but there are few issues with it.
I think(?), Youtube app has this builtin but they recently increased the limit to broadcast from mobile devices and now you need 1000 subs otherwise you can not do it and I just have 8-9 subs, something like that. So, What else can I use to do this? I already tried searching app store and google but I have not found anything decent unfortunately. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Feb 2020 02:52 PM PST I realize the "repair" will probably mean a replacement product and not an actual repair of the same device. Having said that, can I expect to walk out of the store the same day with the new/"repaired" device? [link] [comments] |
