Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? - February 24, 2020

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:10 PM PST

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

FREE [NO IPAS] action rpg/dungeon crawler [a la Diablo] recommendation, Labryinth Legend.

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 04:24 AM PST

    Hello,

Some people on TA forums were recommending this, so I tried and it's actually good!
A 2D top down action dungeon crawler. It's 16 bits style, a little bit similar to Terraria, but here there's only fighting and looting. Every enemy gives you loot or coins. You can use 2 weapons at a time, from a ranging variety [sword, knife, arch. magic runes...]

There's no story [well, there's, but very, very paper thin XD], but the gameplay is satisfactory. The first stage is easy, but it increase its difficulty little by little. Also, there are many things to do in the game, from buying special attacks to modify your weapons...

It's free, with ads. The ads are videos that happen from time to time, like when leaving a dungeon. No intrusive. There is only one IAP, to remove them [around 3 dollars], but so far I didn't feel I need it.

I need help to find a game I played a long while ago. Can anybody help me?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 08:29 PM PST

Hi, guys. After hours of fruitless searching, I hope you can help me. I'm looking for a game I played many years ago. Unfortunately I can only describe it as follows: It's kind of a single player survival shooter in 2D, comic book style. You always had to shoot big waves of funny monsters. You had your little adventurer in the middle of the screen (landscape format), with your thumbs on the screen you moved in the lower left corner, on the right was the button to shoot. I played the game on my first Ipod. Sorry that the description is so weak. Thanks a lot for your efforts already.

An Old Top Down, GTA-esque game I used to play, who’s name eludes me.

    Posted: 24 Feb 2020 01:36 AM PST

Hey! I was hoping someone on here would be able to help me out with remembering the name of this one app I used to play all the time. It was a top down, free roaming game, and the one thing I remember the most about it was being able to drive to this car lot and selling the cars you stole. There were weapons and such in the game, I believe, and it was essentially an old style GTA game. Any help would be appreciated!

I asked the Trainyard dev what his plans were to support or update in the future and he gave me some exciting news! This game is too good to be lost to time!

Swipe gestures getting in the way of games

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 09:05 PM PST

Sorry if it's been asked before but I haven't found any info on it.

When I play games on iOS, especially rhythm games that require swiping, I keep accidentally changing apps. Is there any way to change or fix this on my end?

Any good aggregate sites for App Store sales?

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 04:00 PM PST

Looking for a good site to set a wish list for App Store sales, did something change? There used to be a lot, such as AppShopper, but none seem to be updating anymore. Thanks

    Games with iCloud Saves

    Posted: 23 Feb 2020 01:51 PM PST

So, one of the worst experiences with iOS gaming is when you may lose or upgrade a device and lets say you icloud backup like most people do now, but you lose your save games. Stuff like Terraria where you spend countless hours on a character/ world just gone.

There is no way to search via the app store, but I am looking for good iPad pro games with icloud support. Darkest Dungeon is a great example, Apple Arcade games seem to have it baked in. Any other solid RPG, Action or Strategy games with iCloud? Does COH have it?
