Tips for Marathon battery life Posted: 08 Feb 2020 04:58 AM PST I'm running a marathon soon and my current Apple Watch Series 5 setup is frustratingly not going to last the length of the race – currently it's down to 40% after 14 miles in practice. Ideally, I'd like to keep using:
Is there anything significant that I can turn off to help save battery that isn't listed above? [link] [comments]

Best screen protection that will not fill with water when I swim? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 07:02 AM PST It seems like most of the bumpers/guards will just fill with water when I swim. I cracked my last screen all the way through and just replaced my watch. Does anyone have any suggestions for screen protection that is compatible with swimming? I'm nervous about whether the stick on kind will reduce my screen sensitivity. I would be very grateful for suggestions and/or insights. Thank you!! [link] [comments]

Parrity Browser, and issues arising from recent iOS Updates Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:41 AM PST Eric here, creator of Parrity for WatchOS. It has just come to my attention that a recent iOS update has substantially impacted the functionality of my little web browser. These issues, each of which arose in the blind spots of my own daily usage, have been identified as follows:
TL;DR:I am now aware of some problems, and am actively (losing sleep, in fact) looking into them. Update #1: Update #2: Update #3: Update #4: Update #5 [link] [comments]
Does anyone know how the run trend is influenced by workouts? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:37 AM PST I have been doing runs in intervals of one mile/day just to calculate my own average. Now that I unlocked the trend, I figured I could run a little on heavy work/school days like yesterday. Context, I went for a 1.5 mile walk and threw in a quarter mile sprint. Since my trend is so new, I should see gains in averages like have been in the past few days. I go to look today to see if trend has moved and still at its previous average. Is it because the data point was under a mile?, but than why does it calculate the avg/mile. Any help is appreciated [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:00 AM PST Hey, I have an Apple Watch series 1.2? I remember when I bough it, the lady said it's like a newer version of the series 1 but didn't say it was series 2. It's a 38mm. It works decent, sometimes there's a delay when selecting a work out, and playing and pausing music isn't too fluid. I have some points which can get me free air pod pros or a Nike series 5 44mm for $220. With that being said I don't need either but want both. I have the normal ear pods and they're fine, but not noise canceling of course. Does it make sense to get the Apple Watch at the really good price? The air pods? Or is this just a first world problem that doesn't need any consideration? I think the "good deal" aspect is making it hard for me to see logic and understand that I don't need either of those items. What do you think? [link] [comments]

Apple watch 3rd gen lte location sending has become awful. Posted: 08 Feb 2020 04:39 AM PST When my wife runs she takes her lte watch and no iphone. I have always been able to track her on my iphone or my watch. Lately this has become very unreliable and it only seems to show location on a couple of points of her route in the village. Assuming the cellphone signal in the area is unchanged, what might be causing this? Also the Find my app would find her watch if it was away from the iphone. Now it only sees the iphone left at home. She is on latest watch os update, could that be the problem? [link] [comments]

Does AutoSleep automatically mute notifications while I am asleep? Posted: 08 Feb 2020 03:12 AM PST I use AutoSleep in conjunction with theater mode and do not disturb (I've never used AutoSleep without turning theater mode and do not disturb on). I am working a shift tonight that requires me to be reachable by phone. If I am asleep, but I leave do not disturb off, will the notifications get through or will AutoSleep mute them if it detects that I am sleeping? [link] [comments]

Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:12 PM PST Since I got my series 5 brand new I've been getting a couple of ID login requests appear on it. They're always the same two unknown Apple ID's that request a password. I'm not usually even doing anything on my watch when it happens. It consecutively requests between two and thirty times before it stops and I can use the watch/iPhone agains. Apple support have been unable to fix the issues since I raised it basically the day I started using the watch on Christmas Day. None of the suggestions of what it might be have worked out to be true from Apple Support. The case is still open I've been told but this is seriously so annoying I don't know what to do. I had a couple of gen 1 watches and this never occurred on them. Should I just request a replacement? It's gone on long enough I think. [link] [comments]
Siri face display getting corrupted / overlapping Posted: 07 Feb 2020 10:33 PM PST Since 6.1.2 (I think), my Siri watch face occasionally gets its elements all mixed up, so they're overlapping each other. Anyone else experiencing this? [link] [comments]
Only one in app purchase away from getting paid for my app! Posted: 08 Feb 2020 05:44 AM PST I posted about my Apple Watch app on here a couple days ago... The one that shows a countdown for your current and upcoming calendar events, with the option to show the countdown in the complication with an in app purchase. I already felt pretty bad about promoting myself on here, but now I'm literally only one purchase away from meeting Apple's $150USD threshold for getting paid for the first time in Australia, for an app that I've been working on and off on for over a year now. As a high school student that currently has, uhhh, about negative $18 in his bank account, finally getting paid for my work would just be awesome. So, if you at all use the calendar app to organise your events, and being able to look at your wrist and immediately see how long until, or left of your events sounds appealing to you, please consider checking out my app here. Would mean a lot. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Frustrated with setting a timer via Siri Posted: 07 Feb 2020 04:04 PM PST One of the things I try to do often is hold the crown on my apple watch and say "Set a timer for 15 minutes" At least 50% of the time the watch says back : " I can't set the timer for a specific time. Should I set an alarm instead?" Its driving me nuts! Anyone else have this problem? [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:30 PM PST Is there a way to list playlists on my watch from most recently added to least recently added? Right now, the songs I most recently added to the playlist are at the bottom and was wondering if there's a way to have those at the top instead. I tried looking at the settings both on my iPhone and Watch but couldn't find anything. [link] [comments]

I'm not getting map directions shown on my watch. How to show? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:22 PM PST When I pull up the maps app on my watch (S3 no cellular), I get two options: search, and location. When I click location, it brings up a map of my location as expected. When I click search, I can do dictation, scribble, contacts, nearby, etc. I can choose any option here and choose to walk, bus, or drive. Regardless of what I choose however, it will always activate my phone. I will never see the same map I do when I click location. In fact, I just get a black screen with a little ETA/time remaining bar on the top. I have already tried restarting my watch. Is there a way to get the map to show only on my watch AND/OR only on the phone? [link] [comments]
Jumping from a series 2, what model should I get? Posted: 07 Feb 2020 08:13 PM PST So as the title suggest I feel ready to update my Apple Watch. I currently have a series 2, 38mm, and I've really enjoyed it so far. I have seen the series 5 and it looks very cool, but I'm not convinced on the always on thing. I suppose my two concerns are: 1) is there a notable difference between a series 2 and a series 4/5 (I'm aware you can only get series 4 from 3rd parties!) 2) Di Apple launch a new watch ever year now? If so what time of year would a new watch drop? Any thoughts/help picking would be great! [link] [comments] |
