Question about sharing with a roommate Posted: 06 Jan 2020 02:54 AM PST Hey guys, Is it easy to share an AppleTv+ account with a roommate (so not a parent/child relationship or something). In summary, is it possible to only share AppleTv+ but no other data (iCloud,...). The account will be used on the same network. Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:04 PM PST I am trying to watch The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel in 4K. But when I click on the episode, it just gives me t spinning wheel and after a minute, tells me there's a problem. But when I click the regular HD, it plays. I've checked my 4K settings and every other app works fine, only happens with 4K on Prime. Anyone experience this as well? With any luck? I have asked Siri to play the specific episodes I wanted last night, and it worked a few times in 4K but hasn't been working today. Any help or info is appreciated. [link] [comments]
Apple tv vs chromecast for mirroring webpages Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:08 PM PST So i currently have a chromecast and when mirroring a web page the resolution can look a little blurry. I was wondering if the apple tv does the same thing when mirroring ? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Remote not working with YouTube Posted: 05 Jan 2020 05:03 PM PST This stated about a month ago that the touch part of my remote will not work with the YouTube app. Everything is up to date according to the settings and the only way I get the remote to start working is by restarting the Apple TV. Is there any fix? [link] [comments]
Is there a way to force YouTube to play in 60fps? Posted: 05 Jan 2020 02:11 PM PST I am watching a series of videos that when I watch on my laptop plays in 1080p60fps. However on the Youtube app via AppleTV, the video only plays in 30fps. Can't seem to find a way to adjust quality of videos. I am forced to use my ps4 instead since all of my watching happens on YouTube and the ps4 is able to play in 1080p60fps. [link] [comments]
Gray black bars on Netflix with Dolby Vision using Apple TV 4K Posted: 05 Jan 2020 07:58 AM PST Edit: it seems to be a netflix.app issue and not LG Or AppleTV issue. Setting the TV to brightness 49 down from 50 when set to Dolby Vision format improves the black bars in netflix substantially Original: Black bars on top and bottom of Apple TV Netflix watching Witcher looks charcoal grayish on 4K Dolby Vision, but when I force 4K HDR the black bars turn inky black (with occational artefact of grayish pixelation on the black bars) and flawless inky black on 4K SDR. Internal Netflix app on TV has not this problem. I've searched reddit and forums, and supposedly this is supposed to get fixed by the TV manufacturers (LG, SONY etc), but this seems to be an Apple problem. When can we expect a fix? Or have any of you found a remedy? (I have a brand new LG C9 65", latest firmware, and Apple TV has latest tvOS)/r/ [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Jan 2020 10:17 AM PST I'm trying to figure out the best setup for my AppleTV, TV and HomePod, so this question is part troubleshooting and part brainstorm. I have one of the earlier generation Element Amazon Fire TV's. So the basic mode of the TV (unless I'm overlooking something) is the Amazon Fire TV interface. I'm mostly able to override this by allowing HDMI control of the TV from the Apple TV (I have the Apple TV 4K). When I press the Apple TV home button the TV comes on. When I press the volume up/down it controls the volume of the TV. Between the Fire TV's speakers and my HomePod the two sound great together. The issue I'm running into at the moment is when I control the volume (with apple remote) it only controls the volume on the TV, not the HomePod. I have the airplay settings on the apple tv set to go out to both the TV and the HomePod however. In case there's some solution that involves the Apple TV learning my Fire TV remote, that hasn't worked. I tried the programming, but it won't detect the signal for some reason (possibly because it's not IR based for the steps it recommends). [link] [comments]
