I paired to my AppleTV for late night listening and then disconnected them. But now whenever I open the Airpod case, they auto-pair to the ATV instead of default pairing to my iPhone? | Apple TV light is responding to remote but not showing on TV Posted: 05 Jan 2020 01:39 AM PST I've had my Apple TV for a couple months now, usually when I use it I press the menu or TV button and it outputs to my TV, however the last week I have had to unplug it and plug it back in for it to work. The only setting I see on the AppleTV is "audio format", either setting to auto or Dolby digital 5.1, and on or off for atmos when available. Toggling Auto or DD5.1 still results in Stereo. Posted: 04 Jan 2020 08:05 PM PST This appears to be happening to all HDR content in the Apple TV app on the Fire Stick 4k. I tried going back and forth between Apple TV and Movies Anywhere on the same stick comparing some movies I own and HDR is properly engaging on my TV with both but there is a noticeable and significant loss of detail in dark parts of scenes in the Apple TV app. For example, in Shazam at about 8:30 when the main character is standing in front of the pawn shop with the door open in the Apple TV app you can't make out any detail inside the store, in Movies Anywhere however you can plainly see into the store. | Hiding Music/Movies/TV Shows apps on Apple TV 2nd Generation Posted: 04 Jan 2020 04:32 PM PST I recently got an old Apple TV (2nd Generation), and I'd like to limit the apps on the home screen to only the ones I'm actually going to use. For most of the apps, hiding them through the Settings > Main Menu page was no problem; however, I can't seem to hide the Music, Movies, and TV Shows apps. Selecting those options opens a small sub-menu with a grayed-out hide option, as well as an option to "See how your data is managed." The Podcasts app has a similar sub-menu, but it allowed me to hide its app. Is it possible to hide these apps? [link] [comments]  | ||

| Bought a new apple tv, but it was already installed and set up...?! Posted: 04 Jan 2020 01:02 PM PST I connected my apple tv for the first time today. It was already set up and I never got the classic welcome screen and set up process that's normal with apple products. There were no icloud logged in (or so I think?) and there were no apps installed. BUT when I went to the app store to download a Streaming app, one e-mail adress showed up and another account named "home06". I have never seen that email before and I have not owned a apple tv on this newly moved in house, it can't be from the previous owners since I changed internet provider and got a new ip adress/modem etc. Is there any way to see if I in fact recieved a refurbished apple tv of some sort? | iOS device screen’s mirroring to AppleTV 4k Posted: 04 Jan 2020 11:41 AM PST iOS device user gets AppleTV 4k presented on ScreenMirroring screen only if AirPlay on receiver device set to "Everyone" or "Also allow nearby to Airplay". Receiver is not presented on Screen Mirroring screen if its AirPlay is configured to "Anyone on same network". It was checked for transceiver and receiver to be in same WiFi network. When i stream a movie through my Macbook Pro the sound in worse and distorted. This happens only when i stream via VLC media player. If i stream a youtube video, the sound is good. I tried changing apple tv audio settings to stereo format and 16 bit mode (i saw somewhere on the internet that this could be a solution), but it didn't work, maybe it worked just a little bit, but still not as good as it should be. Does anyone know a solution to this or maybe if it's VLCs fault, another media player? [link] [comments]  | ||
