Apple TV 4K and Overall TV Question Posted: 06 Dec 2019 08:09 PM PST So I've always been on top of tech, or so I thought, and in 2017 when I moved to a new apartment, I got the top of the line LG 4K TV with HRD to use in my living room. And I have no complaints using my ATV 4K and have been absolutely please with the picture and sound quality with my sound bar. Now, I recently just upgraded my TV in the bedroom to a TV with Dolby Vision HDR. Now this is where I get confused. How is Dolby Vision HDR different from HDR, 4K, or HDR 10? Can someone be so kind to give me the differences broken down? I don't know what the difference is. All I know is that the picture quality in the living room and bedroom are very similar and happy with both, but what are some things I can look out for that are differences. Any difference in LG OLED built in apps and Apple TV 4K Quality? Posted: 06 Dec 2019 11:59 PM PST Hey guys, I currently have an LG OLED C8 T.V. and watch all my 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos films through the built in VUDU app. I'm debating getting the Apple TV 4K because I hear iTunes has the best streaming bitrate, which means the best picture and audio quality. Does anybody know if there is any noticeable difference between the built in WebOs apps and the Apple TV? Thanks in advance! [link] [comments]
Disable content I don't own in AppleTV app. Posted: 06 Dec 2019 04:46 AM PST New Apple TV app is very confusing. It shows a lot of content. But when I start clicking it most content requires purchase. Is there any way to filter it out? I have Netflix, PrimeVideo, Hulu and now AppleTV+. I hope that's enough content to watch. But new Apple TV app is doesn't allow me to browse just what I have already. Is there any way to his content I don't own? [link] [comments]

AirPods not showing up in side menu Posted: 06 Dec 2019 05:10 PM PST My AirPods and AirPod pros stopped showing up in the shortcut in the side menu. I have to manually connect them through settings every time. Any suggestions on how to get them to show up? [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Dec 2019 04:07 PM PST I have subscriptions to 11 streaming apps (yeah, I may have a problem). Only the TV+ sub and four others show up in the TV App. Is that a hard limit? (Recently I added Disney+ and PBS went away) The four that get their own line are Disney+, HBO, SHO and STARZ. Four others, CBS, PBS, Hulu and Prime Video don't appear, even though 'Up Next' seems to recognize them. The last two, which may never appear, are Netflix and YouTube TV. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Dec 2019 01:44 PM PST I recently bought my first AppleTV, and I'm looking for some tips or hidden features that everyone might not know about. Is jail breaking this thing worth it, or should I keep it as is? [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Dec 2019 09:29 PM PST Is there a place to discuss the series See? The last episode was really shocking and I need to know what other people think. If anyone here watches it, I would really appreciate your opinion. [link] [comments]

Replace SteamLink with Apple TV Posted: 06 Dec 2019 07:48 AM PST Okay, so now that Steam app is on Apple TV, I've been contemplating getting some bluetooth xbox controllers to ditch my steamlink. The main game I use it for is Rocketleague and often do 4 player split screen. This works fine on my Steam link with usb controllers, with that said when I use my Apple TV for Zwift (a bike training app) it has a limit of 2 bluetooth devices. Is that a app limitation or the Apple TV? Is that going to prevent my from hooking up more then two xbox controllers to my apple tv via wireless? If so that's a stupid limitation and a deal breaker for me. I'd really like to simplify, but want to confirm. [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4th gen issues with 5.1 sound Posted: 06 Dec 2019 10:10 AM PST I have an Apple TV 4th gen and been having issues with my 5.1 sound. Lots of crackles and distortion, sometimes often and other times rarely. Everything is connected appropriately which leads me to another avenue to explore - storage space. I noticed I only have 4GB of storage left on my Apple TV, could this cause an issue with streaming and sound quality? I pose this question because I've noticed issues with streaming quality as well. My WiFi is a mesh network with a great download speed of 300mbs to 400mbs at any given time. Has anyone else noticed when the storage is almost full they have similar performance issues? AppleTV 4K audio out and HomePod Posted: 06 Dec 2019 08:46 AM PST I've been experiencing this issue where the audio out of the Apple TVs is set to HomePod and we can view content just fine. But when we use Apple arcade or navigate through menus with sounds on for clicks we get nothing. Anyone else's experience this? Feature and not a bug? [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4K vs Roku... with a twist! Posted: 06 Dec 2019 12:28 PM PST so I have read through many ATV 4K vs Roku discussions and none have answered my question. I just set up my VIZIO M Series TV and I always had it in mind to get an ATV 4K since all reviews on the TV complained about Vizio's Smartcast. But, after using my TV now for a couple of days... I don't know if the ATV 4K would be worth the extra $120 over the Roku Streaming Stick. In fact, I don't know if I need any streamer as the Smartcast seems fine to me, and the TV has built in Cast and Airplay 2. No doubt, I would prefer the apple experience. But, given that I already have Airplay, is the ATV 4K worth the extra cash?so I have read through many ATV 4K vs Roku discussions and none have answered my question. Connecting Apple TV 4k to old receiver Posted: 06 Dec 2019 06:42 AM PST I'm currently using an old (10 year old or so) Onkyo connected to my X950g via optical digital cable. I'm thinking on getting an Apple TV 4k and I plan to connect it directly to the TV and continue to use the old Onkyo until I get a new receiver. But I read that if I do this (AppleTV > TV > SPDIF > Receiver) I might only be getting stereo instead of Dolby 5.1. Is this accurate? If so, what would be the best solution until I can purchase a new receiver? Right now I'm using an Apple TV fourth gen connected to the receiver. Everything works fine, but I am not getting 4k...and Android TV is okay, but just so meh. [link] [comments] |
