| How to delete the iOS 13.3 update that automatically downloaded to my iPad 6 (12.4) Posted: 25 Dec 2019 08:08 PM PST I got my iPad 6 on 12.4 and I don't plan on updating it for a few reasons. For some reason, upon disabling automatic downloads and update, the iPad still proceeded to download the update with no freaking way to delete it whatsoever. I don't wanna update it because I'm worried about the three touch shortcut bar which would hinder my performance in rhythm games. I know it sounds like a pretty dumb reason, but there's the fact that I sometimes need to use all 10 of my fingers for some games. Could someone confirm if it's been removed/there's a switch to disable this? Any second, is there a way to delete this update or do I finally have to succumb to updating my iPad? [link] [comments]  |

| Trouble restoring iPad that is in “Activation Lock” and do not know Apple ID password Posted: 25 Dec 2019 07:59 PM PST I found my moms iPad mini that she has and she wants to switch the iPad to her new Apple ID. In order to do that I need to sign out of the Apple ID that the iPad is currently signed in on. The problem is, we do not know the password, and the email it is associated with is no longer active because her work shut it down. I reset it and plugged it into my computer, and the problem is now that the iPad is in "Activation Lock" and we are right back on square one with not knowing the password to the Apple ID. | How to recover deleted texts? iPhone SE, iOS 13.3 Posted: 25 Dec 2019 08:33 PM PST About a month ago my phone wiped all my text messages automatically because I was running out of phone storage, but hadn't hit capacity. I have no iCloud backup. I have tried everything, contacting Apple support, trying a third party recovery app, and contacting my service provider. Fruitless. I know the texts are still somehow stored in my phone because when I go to the control center search, keywords make deleted texts show up. Is there a way to get the texts back? I'm a sentimental person. I had texts going back four years including people no longer in my life, photos, videos, good memories, etc. My memory is bad to the point that these texts were literally a record of my life which I can't remember a second of for these past few years. | iPhone Xr iOS 13.1 activation required, sim not supported need help Posted: 25 Dec 2019 09:45 PM PST Hello, I'm having trouble setting up my mom's iPhone xr Bought from a guy off Facebook market saying it was unlocked. Went through the phone everything looked fine. Christmas came and I gave it to my mom as a gift. Started setting it up and said activation required, then went through wifi setup then cellular check, phone said "sim not supported" took out the sim and continued set up successfully. Went to settings - "cellular" and the only thing in the tab says "add cellular plan" which uses Esim. My thoughts were that the guy lied and the phone was carrier locked. Looked through the phone to see any signs of a carrier but to my luck there was none, and without knowing what carrier it is then I can't hit them up asking them to unlock it. Need some help with this, I'll list things I've done. Called apple support and they said they don't have info that tells me what carrier it's on Connected to itunes,it just says "sim unsupported" Tried asking a few carriers if they had the IMEI on their list( att, TMobile) Contacted the seller( no response prob ghosting me) Erase all data and reinstalled sim ( done 3 times now) Reset network settings ( done twice) If you guys can help me out in anyway that would be awesome. | No bass and weird sound on AirPods Pro Posted: 25 Dec 2019 09:15 PM PST So I just got a pair of AirPods Pro for Christmas (which btw they were the hardest things to find 😂) and I've watched several YouTube videos about them and read several articles and they all say that the bass and overall sound is way better than the original AirPods, but as soon as I started playing music I immediately thought they sounded bad. The bass is lacking a lot and it has a weird crush effect going on. I plugged in my EarPods (which sound very similar to the og AirPods) the EarPods sounded wayyy better. There're already videos in it, and i've done it before, but now it won't let me put anything in it. The button is now a light gray color and doesn't do anything. (Here: in Safari web browser) For example, "local snapshots" or "saved application state"... Can't remember what it was called, but once there was something that took a local "photo" of the screen once in a while. If so, can you customize it so that it does not show individuals? | Cant figure out what is taking up so much space on brand new macbook air Posted: 25 Dec 2019 08:10 PM PST I got a brand new macbook air and when I tried to import my photos from my old laptop I got the message that says I dont have enough disc space. When I clicked on it, it brought to the page where I can manage my storage and when I add it up myself, I'm only taking up a little over 20 gb out an available 121gb but the bar at the top of the screen says I only have 2 gb of space available. I've never owned a macbook of any kind before so I may be just missing something super obvious but does anyone have any idea what may be going on here? Thanks in advance. [link] [comments]  |
| Can I preserve timestamps when cloning a MacBook drive? Posted: 25 Dec 2019 08:03 PM PST For Christmas I received a new SSD to put into my mid-2012 MacBook Pro. I used SuperDuper to clone my current HDD onto the new SSD using a SATA to USB cable. However, when I tested if I could boot into it, I noticed all the files in my Downloads folder were jumbled. Further investigation revealed that because my Downloads folder was sorted by "Date Added", all filed were ordered in the same sequence they were copied over, which was very different from the way I had them. Is there a way to preserve the "Date Added" timestamp when migrating/backing up so that all files are in the proper order? Thank you! [link] [comments]  |
| iPad doesn’t work after update, frozen on white screen with apple logo Posted: 25 Dec 2019 07:10 PM PST I put my iPad (mini 4) to update to the current ios a couple of days ago and when it turned it on I think I accepted that "two factor authentication", after that, it was "updating iCloud settings" for a long time, then a white screen with an Apple appeared (as if the device was turning on) but it started blinking to a full black screen from time to time, then it went to a black screen with a loading symbol for awhile then the white screen again (this repeated for a couple of times) later the lock screen popped up, I inserted my password, the next step was to put my Apple ID password, but there was no keyboard, then the touchscreen and two buttons stopped working, the white screen blinking appeared again. Later I tried connecting it to my computer and tried updating the iPad from my computer, it loaded, when the update was over again a message on the computer said to wait for the iPad to restart (it said the IPad option would appear on the side bar), it had the white screen with the Apple on it as if it was turning on but it just started blinking again, even so, I waited for more than two hours and no iPad option popped up in the computer anywhere I tried this again and on the fifth time the IPad option did appear, I clicked on it and a message saying "trust iPad" was there and it also said that in order to sincronize the devices I needed to click the confirm button in the computer and the other on on the iPad... but my iPad was just frozen on the white screen with the apple logo on it. | Ipad is on wifi, but not connected at all. Posted: 25 Dec 2019 06:20 PM PST My school ipad is connected to the same wifi as my usual one, but it won't connect. It can't airdrop, use safari, youtube, or any other things that require wifi. A while before this, it would need to be hard reset every morning before youtube would start working, and now it doesn't work even after a hard reset.
