Switching from android to iphone and anxious about it. Posted: 20 Nov 2019 09:16 PM PST I'm thinking of switching to apple. Not really sure which phone to get. I'm in between the iphone xr, 11, or 11pro. My one big issue is the colors for the phones I love the xr colors. The other issue is all the talk about 2020s devices, the prices as well make it harder to decide. Is it worth it to drop the money on the 11 or 11 pro or would it be better to get the XR and wait for 2020. I only really use the phone for a few mobile games and tv mainly listen to music. I pretty much understand the upgrades between them but is the 11 or 11 pro(mainly thinking the 11pro if I get newest) worth it compared to the xr were I can get 128gb for 50$ less then just 64gb on the 11pro. Im coming from the galaxy s8. I kinda just want to get the newest and fastest but the xr sounds almost as good as 11 pro. Please any and all advice is appreciated. Also opinions on first time apple buyer I bought the 6 or 6s and gave it to the gf and i found a great deal on the s8 so I keep the s8 being an android fan for so long. [link] [comments]
My experience with Apple's iPhone repair service. Posted: 20 Nov 2019 08:13 PM PST I own an iPhone 8 Plus which I bought in 2017. Last week, my phone suddenly stopped working. It won't charge or turn on. I took my phone to Apple's official service provider to get it fixed. They told me that there is a problem with the motherboard of my phone and a repair is not possible. The only solution is to replace the entire phone which would cost almost as much as buying a new iPhone 8 Plus. I asked them if they had opened my phone to inspect. They simply replied that they have a machine that tells them what's wrong with the phone and opening it up wouldn't be necessary. After googling a bit about it, I learned that it can be easily fixed. I took my phone to a 3rd party service provider. And they said it can be fixed for $60 but the Touch ID would not work after fixing the motherboard. I was fine with it as it's still better than replacing the whole phone. Now if I want to fix the Touch ID on my phone, I need to replace the entire screen which would cost me nearly $200, even though there's nothing wrong with the screen. Apple doesn't offer partial repairs for iPhones. A simple replacement for the home button would be fair for the customers. [link] [comments]
Lifeproof Next or Tech21 Evo Check case Posted: 20 Nov 2019 04:22 PM PST I'm considering the either Lifeproof Next case or Tech21 Evo Check case for my new iPhone XR...has anyone used them long term and been happy with the drop protection? I've used Otterbox Symmetry cases for several generations of phones and was disappointed to find the XR case feels much more cheaply made...the back arrived with the faintest scuffs(while a four year old Symmetry case that is still in use looks brand new) and the second layer of rubber has been removed from all but the lip/bumper area. So, I need to find a new case, and I would like to make sure the new case(Lifeproof, Tech21 or other) is up to the job. [link] [comments]
How is the idle/standby drain while on 4G/LTE (not Wi-Fi) for the iPhone 11 Pro (non-max) Posted: 20 Nov 2019 09:23 PM PST For the non-max iPhone 11 Pro, how fast does the phone's battery drain when it is doing nothing while on 4G/LTE? Maybe with a bluetooth device connected (or not). Does it drain really badly or does it retain battery well during this? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 20 Nov 2019 11:24 PM PST List of things Apple have done recently that I think are fantastic:
List of changes they still NEED to make before I can actually jump ship:
And that's it. Not even a long list. There are still some things I don't like about the platform, but I'm willing to compromise on them for the sake of the raw performance and battery life. [link] [comments] |
