Posted: 22 Nov 2019 06:48 PM PST The TV app has a Sports tab that shows live and upcoming sports action. This is great, but why limit this functionality to sports? Why not rename "Sports" to "Live" and display all of the live and upcoming content that I subscribe to, including sports? For example, I subscribe to CBS All Access, HBO and NBA League Pass. CBS has a live local feed, HBO has live East/West channels and the NBA broadcasts multiple games each night. I'd love to see a "Live" layout that aggregates all of the live content so that I don't have to scroll and click around to see what's on. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

I have a samsung 4k smart TV, is apple TV still worth it? Posted: 23 Nov 2019 12:40 AM PST right off the bat, if the plex app is faster or streams better on the apple TV 4k than on my samsung 4k smart TV (2018), it would probably be worth it for me. But aside from that, are there really any major benefits or differences that anyone has noticed with using the apple TV vs your smart TV apps? Is having the apple arcade on the TV worth it? Trying to decide if getting a black Friday deal is worth it or not. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Nov 2019 06:58 PM PST Why is apple TV+ lumped into the TV app. Its shown with episodes of shows I need to buy or other apps that I do not subscribe too. Not only is it cumbersome and annoying, it really hides that the content is avaiable for free. Is there any way to see everything offer on one screen? Do they plan on making this in the future or a stand alone App? [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Nov 2019 06:27 PM PST Hey guys. Has anyone else noticed weird audio spikes lately on ATV4? It seems to mostly occur when the YouTube app is open. It first affects YouTube itself then other apps. The audio will get really quiet then a few minutes or so later the audio spikes and returns to normal levels. Any ideas? [link] [comments]
ATV 4K: Weird Piexlation Problem Posted: 22 Nov 2019 08:22 PM PST Hey All, Got a ATV-4K for my family a brand-new and have plugged it into a 1080p Panasonic TV. It instantly started making these weird pixelated tiles on the screen that won't go away (image below). I've tried different HDMI cables, different HDMI ports and a software update. The resolution and refresh rate are definitely matching the TVs capabilities... Any ideas what is causing this? Perhaps it's just broken? [link] [comments]
AppleTV box AND HomeKit/AirPlay2/appleTV app on Samsung tv Posted: 22 Nov 2019 02:20 PM PST I have an Apple TV 4 on an older tv and pretty much use the atv for everything. Now I'm planning to get a Samsung TV which will have HomeKit/airplay, the Apple TV app, etc. will this essentially make the atv box redundant? It is my HomeKit hub so of course I'd still use it for that, but otherwise for viewing will the Samsung do everything (and in 4K which my atv box is not) the atv box does or are there still features only the box can do? Or is the interface and speed/reliability of the Samsung TV smart setup worse enough to the ATV experience that I'll want to stick with the box? EDIT: apparently I was mistaken about HomeKit on the Samsung's. But I think the rest still applies [link] [comments]
Do i need to worry about my TV's internal processor specs? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 04:03 PM PST I'm looking at getting an OLED tv the differences accross LG's OLED lineup largely have to do with better processing and therefore better noise reduction, HDR processing etc. my question is, how much does this matter if I'm using an apple tv? usually when you talk about smart tv cpu specs it relates only to the smart tv features however this image processing stuff seems more low level. any insight would be greatly appreciated [link] [comments]
Apple TV 4k flashing white randomly, kind of strobing Posted: 22 Nov 2019 05:27 PM PST It just started happening, not sure if it's a coincidence with a recent TV update. [link] [comments]
Posted: 22 Nov 2019 03:11 PM PST I just bought Once Upon A Time in Hollywood with my Apple ID on my Apple TV today. I wanted to be able to watch it with family when I head over for the holidays next week. My dad has an Apple TV at home obviously with a different Apple ID. We are connected on the same family plan for iCloud and Apple Music though. What's the easiest way for me to watch it on his TV? Do I literally have to log out of his ID and log into mine? Or is it just easier to bring my Apple TV over for the holidays? Can't I also share my movies with him since we're on the same family plan? Any help would be great. Thanks. [link] [comments]

How do you select in-video links on youtube? Posted: 22 Nov 2019 07:22 AM PST At the end of youtube videos it shows a couple other videos and has an image for a directional pad to select in-video links but i can't ever seem to figure out how to select one of those videos. Posted: 22 Nov 2019 07:12 AM PST I've noticed with the TNT app, NFL network, ESPN, they always make me re-sign in every week. Why is that? It's so annoying. I want to watch a basketball game and tnt always makes me re-sign in on a weekly basis. I hate logging in from my iPhone and typing in the password to my satellite connection. Any fixes or ideas!? Apple Music only from the center speaker. All other speakers make no sound. Posted: 22 Nov 2019 05:27 AM PST Hey there! Let me explain the setup to you and see if you guys have an idea as to what might be going wrong. Apple TV 4K, via HDMI to a Sony 4K TV 2015 model (KDX49, 8000 series). Then the Sony TV sends audio via HDMI-ARC to a Sony 5.1 AV/Bluray system. Menus play audio as 2.0. Trailers (via the app Trailers by Apple) only output via the center speaker. No stereo, no surround. Just the center speaker. Infuse app thankfully plays through all the speakers for movies and series that I have on my NAS. And now, Apple Music. Now, I know Apple Music is stereo only, but it just plays through the center speaker only. No right, no left, no sub. Just the center speaker. Isn't this strange and inconsistent? [link] [comments] |
