    Muffled sound on videos taken with the camera app but not on Snapchat

    I've noticed that when I take a video through my camera app, the sound is very muffled and low. But when I record on Snapchat, it sounds perfect. What is the problem and how can i fix it?

    Edit: also just realized it's only when recording with front camera

    Can I “bless” a partition?

    I have a 2017 MacBook Air that I run Bootcamp on. Yesterday, I ran a windows update that did several reboots.

    Post update and I only see the Mac partition. I can log into that just fine. I can go to Startup Disks and see "BOOTCAMP" but if I select it and click restart I can an error that says, "bless tool was unable to set the current boot disk".

    I can navigate to the Bootcamp folder and get to all the data there, but cannot boot into windows anymore. Even holding down the option key at boot only shows the Mac partition. Anyway to "bless" a partition?

    Logitech Brio webcam not working on Mac OS Catalina, 16" MacBook Pro

    My friend just bought the new 16" MacBook Pro with Mac OS Catalina on it.

    He was coming from a 2011 MacBook Pro which ran an older OS.

    He says Catalina isn't recognizing the camera at all.

    Is there something we can do? Should he be looking in Finder? He says there's nothing there.

    I assume this is a driver issue, but I would've thought a webcam would work...or that Logitech would have updated the drivers already.

    iPod touch 4g

    I found my old iPod touch 4g in a drawer today, it's from when I was 11 or 12. I have no clue what the passcode is, is there any way I can get into the device without resetting it and losing the data? I'd love to see my old pictures and what not. Thanks in advance!

    Question about Voice Memos on Catalina

    I have about 10 old voice memos saved on my desktop from past years, and I would like to import them into the new Mac Voice Memos app so they sync through the Cloud. Where are voice memos stored locally on my computer so I can drag and drop? It won't let me drag these files directly into the Voice Memos app list.

    Image Quality iPhone11

    Whenever I take a picture, it usually looks a lot better in the viewfinder but when I take the picture and then look at it it looks a lot more... blurry? It's like the quality drops or something. It looks better whenever I zoom into the picture though. Is that normal? Is there any way I can get that to not happen?

    My experience on Optimised Battery Charging feature

    Im using iphone XR on ios 13.2.3, charged using Thunder Plus Wireless charging pad (with output of 7.5W)

    I enabled Optimised battery for one week straight and since, never able to get it fully 100% charged. Anyone can advise me, or i just should turn it off?

    AirDrop on iPhone 11 Pro

    My brother and I both have iPhone 11 pros. We tried the new U1 chip airdrop. It picks up the other phone but when we click send it doesn't send. Air drop is on. When we click the old fashioned air drop it works.... why?

    MBPro 2018: Touchpad getting "stuck".

    So this already happened twice this month. Basically, the touchpad gets literally stuck (as in doesn't "produce" clicks. The whole system freezes for like 5 seconds, then the fans rev up for another second or so it shuts off. Kind of scary. What am I looking at?

    Sometimes my iPhone's notification sound stutters

    It plays the end of the notification sound repeatedly like it's gotten several of the same notification. Other than today, it's been several versions of iOS 13/weeks since I last had this happen. It's on iOS 13.2.3. Why does this happen? Is it a software bug?

    nvme m2 external storage for video editing - r/w speed question

    Late 2017 imac 27" 5K running Mojave 10.14.6. Have been using an external esata Raid 1 mirrored spinning disk 2tb array, simply because its what I had - and it worked. I've outgrown it and its clearly becoming a bottleneck in my video editing workflow. Majority of my footage is 1080p30. Have been working in Premiere Pro CC. esata drive is connected through an Aikitio TB3 dock. Blackmagic Disk Speed Test results gave me an average of 153MB/s read & 145MB/s write. Drives are formatted APFS (not encrypted).

    Researched and thought I'd found a good balance of investment/performance for an upgrade. Just received my package this afternoon - a Sabrent Rocket (SB-ROCKET-2TB) NVME m2, encased in a StarTech M.2 NVMe USB 3.1/USB-C/TB3 Compatible Enclosure (M2E1BMU31C). The drive is then plugged directly into one of the available TB3 ports on the rear of the iMac.

    Installed the drive in the enclosure and connected to my imac, initialized, formatted to APFS. Ran BMD Disk Speed Test, results: 948MB/s read & 954MB/s write. Amazing improvement for sure, and certainly more than covers anything I'm likely to run into resolution/framerate wise. I've played with different formatting (HFS Journaled, ExFat). FWIW, speed tests are consistent when comparing against my 2018 13" MBP w/TB, also on 10.14.6.

    So all that to get to the heart of my question. The advertised speed for this drive is 3,450MB/s read & 3,000MB/s write. I understand these are maximum theoretical speeds. I thought I'd chosen an enclosure/controller that would support the speed of the drive. Should I expect to see faster speeds than what I'm seeing? Is the enclosure/controller the bottleneck, or is the imac limited in the number of PCIe lanes offered to the TB3 interface? Or some other matter entirely? Is there a better tool I should be testing with? Any tips or help are greatly appreciated!

    New Macbook pro 16” crashing and freezing

    I just got this thing not even a week ago. Had no problems until yesterday. using Google chrome will sometimes shut the computer off, or freeze the whole screen. Same with logic. I make music so this is a huge concern for me. I have a genius appointment tomorrow but was wondering if there's any advice. i've got plenty of hard drive space left and have tried restarting and powering on and off a bunch. i was able to get chrome to work again for an hour today. I'm not running anything too crazy on it either. Any ideas? thanks!
