| Posted: 05 Nov 2019 01:20 PM PST I just want to say Apple has the best customer support. I lost my mom in June of this year and I stupidly locked her phone to where it had to be reset and such (tried to figure out her pass code). I felt like complete crap and I called apple and the process to get a deceased persons information is a whole ordeal but thankfully I met Kyle. He was great! I was able to recover my moms password today and when I get home tonight I will see if she had a backup (fingers crossed). Kyle if you read this, thank you! [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 05 Nov 2019 09:14 PM PST I used to have an iPhone 7 Plus which recently stopped working and i got an iPhone 11 yesterday. After a days usage, Im getting a level of frustration that I never experienced with any phone before: Galaxy 3, Galaxy 4, iPhone 3GS, iphone 5S, iphone 6S etc. Issues (not really proper issues - just minor inconveniences that add up to a frustrating experience)

| i have a couple bugs that i want help with Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:54 PM PST so on my iphone 7, i have this one bug where i'm not touching the screen or anything and randomly it'll just starting scrolling or pressing buttons i didn't press, and i don't know if it's the screen or what's happening because this has been happening for about a month. and the other bug is where i can click on gamepigeon or another imessage app and it has a white outline around it but it won't open. | Posted: 05 Nov 2019 08:33 PM PST Hi everyone, It first started when the phone was updating WeChat (iPhone 4S (v. 9.3.0)), but the problem was that when I tried to stop updating, the update wheel kept going from start to finish repeatedly. I decided to uninstall WeChat with the intent of reinstalling it again to get rid of the problem. Instead of displaying the GET button on the App Store, it displayed an arrow (which means that you can update the app) when the App was removed from my mom's phone. As displayed in the Imgur collage. I've contacted WeChat about this issue three hours ago and have never heard back. My suggestion was to for her to buy a new iPhone because people use the newer generation and/or newest OS version and the App Store says that it supports iPhone 5 and up. What do you guys think? Has this happened to anyone before?

| I fell for an Apple email scam Posted: 05 Nov 2019 07:55 PM PST Okay so I'm new to posting stuff on Reddit, if this isn't allowed here I'm very sorry. I can't believe how stupid I am, everything about the email screamed scam! My phone is getting old (It's a Iphone 5c) I've had it for almost 5 years. There are a lot of problems with it and texting is a big issue. My messages would get delayed, it would say sending on top of the screen where the contact name is and take forever to send. Finally today my messages stopped sending all together. I looked up a way on how to fix it and it said log into your apple account and use your apple id to sign in and send messages. So I thought I'd try that, it wouldn't let me log in. A message popped up saying "Apple ID Verification Enter the password for "Insertmyemailhere" in Settings. So I entered my password and it didn't log me in. I went on my laptop and checked my emails (I'm expecting an email from a teacher of mine) and saw an email from "Apple" The email said "For your protection, your Apple ID is automatically disabled." "You won't be able to access Apple Service, iTunes, and App Store until your Apple Account ownership verified, we're recommend to validate the ownership as soon as possible. Failure in validation of account information within 24 hour can be impacted on termination of your Apple or iCloud Account to safeguard our system." And at the bottom it had a giant grey button that says "Log into your account" Without even thinking I clicked on it hoping it'd fix my issues with logging into my apple ID account... It didn't. When I clicked on that log into your account button nothing happened, it just took me to the google homepage. It didn't ask for any passwords or credit card information or anything. I went to apples official website and managed to change my account password but I don't know if that's enough. Is my apple account screwed now? Is there a virus on my laptop? [link] [comments]  |

I've seen a lot people having issues with Catalina on this forum specifically, so I'm also wondering what should I watch out for. I can watch Apple TV + on tv.apple.com in safari, but I don't have an app. I search for "TV", "Apple TV", etc on my Mac and no app is present. The item that I wish to drag and drop simply springs back into place (back to iCloud). I want to know if there is a solution to this problem yet? From various online forums, the problem seems to have started with Catalina beta and has continued with the full release of Catalina. I'd like to fix this problem before Dropbox charges me $119 (this upcoming March) for my annual subscription. I use Dropbox because I can share entire folders (no just a single file). I hear iCloud is going to allow Folder sharing this Spring - which is a delay from this Fall. other than this, I'll be forced over to Google Drive because of the need to share Folders. (flag set in iBoot panic header)" — Catalina freezing all the time! :( Posted: 05 Nov 2019 06:06 PM PST I formatted my Mac and reinstalled macOS, the solution I was hoping to frequent freezing (after about 30 minutes of normal use). To my terrible surprise, my Mac still froze. A hard shutdown and restart and here I am. The log says this: "BAD MAGIC! (flag set in iBoot panic header), no macOS panic log available" I'm at a loss. I haven't installed any software and it froze. A quick hardware diagnostics didn't find anything wrong with my hardware. This is a new 2018 MacBook Pro. It was working great until Catalina. This is terrible. I live in Guatemala, so no Apple stores teaming with geniuses to help me here. I place myself in the helpful hands of the internet in the hopes of solving this. [link] [comments]  |

I'm having a weird issue with my Macbook which isn't particularly awful but still annoying: at some point I plugged in some headphones through the 3.5mm jack and the sound kept playing through my speakers. I had to manually adjust it to play through the headphones through my system preferences. A reboot solved it temporarily but it seems that now, any time I want to change outputs I must navigate to my sound settings to manually select the output I want, whether I am switching to headphones, onboard speakers, USB outputs, or bluetooty. Is there some setting I'm missing that can tell the OS to auto-detect / prioritize outputs? Thanks! [link] [comments]  |

| MacBook Pro (Retina, 15", Mid 2015) third-party battery issues Posted: 05 Nov 2019 05:45 PM PST I had a local repair shop put a new battery in my MBP a few weeks ago, and despite calibrating twice the times and percentages are incredibly inconsistent. The main issue I see is that, after about an hour, the battery jumps down to 7%. Alerts go off. The time remaining can be anywhere from 2:00 to 0:20, but the laptop will run about another hour in this state. Does anyone have some tips on correcting the issue without going back to the repair shop to ask for a new battery? My tech has suggested that Apple doesn't always play nice with a third-party replacement, possibly mis-reporting what's going on with the battery.
