    Catalina Custom Dynamic Wallpapers

    Hey guys,

    Trying to install custom Dynamic Wallpapers but I keep running into a problem.

    The files appear under 'Dynamic' however when I click on them, the Dynamic/Light (Still)/Dark (Still) overlaps with the Size Options: Fill Screen/Centre etc.

    I've tried messing with the date/time settings to no avail.

    Any ideas/fixes?

    Where are automatically started apps defined in MacOS?

    Hi,

    in Settings / Users & Groups / Startup Objects ("Anmeldeobjekte in German; hope the translation to English is correct) you can define which applications are automatically started. I, however, have some automatically started apps that I do not find in said menu. Does anyone know alternative locations where to look?

    Safari - disable Javascript on only one website?

    Sidecar disables dGPU - why?

    I noticed yesterday that Photoshop felt really sluggish on my 2018 15 inch base MacBook Pro while using sidecar to work on my studies. So I took a quick investigation and saw that the AMD Radeon Pro 555x wasn't even shown in the about section. A quick Google search brought up that 3rd party apps such as DuetDisplay deactivate the dGPU.

    So I am assuming that Sidecar has the same behaviour. Why is that? Or am I encountering a bug here? Have you experienced the same?

    Photoshop (or any other heavy app for that matter) without the power of the AMD graphics is no fun at all.

    I have a lot of problems starting Steam on Mojave 10.4.6 and my friend was unable to run it on Catalina public beta. Is there a solution or will Steam not work on Catalina?

    Has anybody noticed that after updating to Catalina Force Touch trackpad is not working like it use to in Safari or is it only my case?
    I've already tried it in other apps and it's working perfectly, the thing isn't working only in Safari...

    Anyone know of a way to skip forward in Catalina's Podcasts app by seconds and not episodes?

    I want to be able to use my keyboard to skip forward/backward by the set amount of seconds but it only seems to work on a per-episode basis. Is there something I'm missing or a workaround for this anyone's found? Thank you.

    Hi everyone, I am confused. I just installed Mojave 10.14. I have like 42k photos, it says uploading 42000. I am confused though, they are already on the cloud? They are on my phone as well. Have they been remove from the cloud and are reuploading or are they uploading another copy?

    GoodNotes 5 with SideCar and tips

    Hello friends,

    I just upgraded to the new Catalina update and wondered how I could use my MacBook in conjunction with my iPad. I thought about using GoodNotes 5 on my MacBook to make my notes and learning sheets better. Do I have to buy GoodNotes 5 on my Mac too or is there a way to restore my purchase form the iPad?

    Do you have some tips or creative ways how you use or want to use SideCar with your mobile device (iPad etc)?

    I am looking to upgrade the network card in my MBP and have heard that the network card from the mid 2012 model will work with the 2011 model? If anyone has tried this, it'd be nice to know how the upgrade went, and if all features worked properly.

    Catalina + late 2013 MacBook Pro = unusable with 8GB of RAM

    Hi all,

    I only noticed one post like this in r/MacOSBeta, but I wanted to share my feelings about Catalina. My MB Pro only has 8GB of RAM (soldered to the motherboard, so I can't upgrade it), and after the upgrade of Catalina the memory immediately fills up!

    With just MS Word, BBEdit, Dropbox, Chrome (or Firefox), and iTunes... the Mac takes 2-3 seconds to responds, and Activity Monitor shows all the memory used. With Mojave I was able to run also 2 VMs with Fusion with no errors, now I barely run one closing the browser. Closing iTunes solves some lags, but I still have 5GB of memory full of system processes.

    Am I the only one very disappointed by this upgrade? I hope that the next updates will solve something.

    Mac OS Catalina (final) prompting for upgrade to Public Beta 1

    I have upgraded to final release of Catalina on my 2016 MBP from previous betas builds.

    On startup, Software Update notifies me that the Catalina Public Beta 1 is available for me to install.

    Any ideas on why this is and how to resolve short of rebuilding the system from ground up?

    Catalina and iPhone not showing up in Finder

    Hi,

    I am connecting my iPhone XS running iOS 13.1.2 to my 2017 MBP running Catalina and it shows in the Finder until I click on it. Then it simply says the iPhones name and storage space then ejects.

    Works with my iPad running iOS 13 however

    Ive tried:

    * Using a different cable

    * deleting com.apple.finder.plist by going to ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist and Restarting Mac

    * Relaunching Finder

    * Hard restart of iPhone and restart of MBP

    * Resetting the Privacy settings in General > Reset > Reset Location and Privacy

    ​

    Any other ideas?

    macOS Catalina restarts

    Hi, firstly, apologies if this is not the correct thread for this question.

    Ove rthe last two days my iMac has started to act weird. When I try to shut down it takes up to two minutes and then just automatically restarts. I noticed that if I unplug the hard drive I use for my automatic backups the issue appears to be resolved. Is there a fix for this issue?

    That horrible, huge, ugly bar that appears across the bottom of the screen. You would think it would be something they could have fixed by now - having finally fixed the ugly-ass intrusive volume graphic in iOS, but no.
