The dark theme of the OneNote is just awesome.

The best setup I have ever had in my small office. IPad Pro 10.5 + Magic Keyboard + mouse. When I have to add sth to website, write a note - it’s perfect. When I have to go to the workshop, I can just take Ipad with me and it’s also a perfect tool. I am using my PC just for games now :)

    iPad Games with Keyboard Support

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 03:06 PM PDT

Got a good deal on the 11" pro, had to bite the bullet! Will mostly be using it for media, browsing, schoolwork and, ofcourse, drawing. Any other starting Procreate artists here?

    iPad Keyboard Case Question

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 01:01 AM PDT

I was curious if anyone has attempted and had any luck using an iPad Air 3rd gen / iPad Pro 10.5" keyboard case with the new 7th gen 10.2" iPad? Everywhere I look the seller seems to say it won't fit, but I can't figure out if that's just a sales tactic to get you to buy a "newer model". From the dimensions I've found on the Apple website, it looks like the only difference in physical dimensions is the thickness. I would like to think the 0.05 inches wouldn't make a huge difference, but I assume it would make the iPad bulge out of the cases. I'm just impatiently waiting for a specific type of keyboard case and didn't know if I should jump the gun and order one of these to try out.

Height - 9.8 inches Width - 6.8 inches Depth - 0.24 on the 10.5" models and 0.29 inches on the 7th gen model

    iPad Pro Sleeve

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 11:13 PM PDT

I own an 11" iPad Pro with a smart folio (not keyboard). I'm worried about bending issues in my bag or someone stepping on the bag. Is there a good hard sleeve which could house my iPad with the folio. I don't wanna get rid of the folio either.

OneNote apparently does not have a way to recover recently deleted notes. Rip to my accidentally deleted page.

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 02:16 AM PDT

I opened the browser version of OneNote and also looked at OneDrive's recycle bin. Not there. I deleted a second test page. It was also gone forever. A single wrong swipe and it's gone. I hope I'm just missing something.

Ipad Pro 11" Charging cables and bricks

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 02:02 AM PDT

Hi reddit! I have made a purchase of iPad Pro 11" and thankfully it have a USB Type C! It means that all my devices uses USB C. Is it safe to use my Samsung Galaxy S10+ charger to charge my iPad or Macbook Pro? And vice versa? Can I just use ONE charger from any of them devices to charge my Phone, iPad and Macbook? It means I will have to carry only one charger with me instead of 3 and that means a lot!

I want to be safe and make my products last on me at least couple of years.

    Thanks in advance! :)

    Embarrassing iPad display fault

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 07:03 AM PDT

The screen on my iPad air 2 developed a sudden fault (the colors messed up, not even a drop or damage) But now I have a porn image permanently burnt into my display (aswell as the emoticon speech bubble from Clash Royale.. random, but there you go).

It shows through faintly on the home screen even though a solid color backdrop is set.

It even survives a power cycle, so the first thing you see when you boot the ipad is the apple logo and the porn in the background.

Any ideas on how to fix this? I guess I'm going to have to fully break the screen before taking it in for repair. The local phone repair shop is run by a Muslim guy, and I just cant face sheepishly joking about it

I've tried thumping the back of it like Ive seen some Youtube videos suggest, but no use.

Marking this as NSFW just to be safe

Never noticed how the “home” bar adapts dynamically to the colors on screen.

Disappointed in lack of Sidecar support for Air 2

    Posted: 16 Oct 2019 12:47 AM PDT

Was really looking forward to using sidecar to replace duet. I believe it worked in earlier Catalina beta but since official they made sidecar only for iPads that support Apple Pencil.

I don't get it, why would pencil support matter if it runs iPad OS smoothly.

What is wrong with my iPad charger? Is this just as simple as a broken charger? (Sorry if this is the wrong sub, you cant post vids on r/applehelp and the discussion link listed in the rules is a dead link)

What apps have you replaced with iPadOS's desktop Safari? Ex. YouTube, reddit, etc.

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 05:58 PM PDT

I remember seeing a while back in a post that someone replaced their YouTube app with the safari desktop version since you can use picture-in-picture, which is in my opinion a game changer (still keep the app for notifications, but that's it). I also saw someone mention desktop reddit, but as someone who uses the RES extension on the PC, basic reddit (I use the old version) is just a bit too barebones (and bright) to me.

These two examples alone have sparked my curiosity, so I'd like to see what apps other redditors have replaced with iPadOS's desktop Safari. Thanks in advance!

Apple pencil 2nd generation "corrects" my handwriting to straight lines, is there a way to calibrate it?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 11:48 PM PDT

I'm using my iPad Pro with an Apple pencil 2nd generation to take notes directly on the presentations, which are provided as pdfs. Currenrly, I'm using the preinstalled app Books to do so. The problem I face is, that when I write quickly I see that what I wrote is adjusted to straight lines, bumps and edges are smoothened out. I suppose this is to eradicate wobbles caused by shaking hands when painting, but since I'm writing, it would be nice to have all edges clearly visible in order to be able to read it comfortably. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

    OCR Scanned PDF

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 10:41 PM PDT

I downloaded some old books that are on public domain in PDF. These books were scanned as images, and the content is unsearchable when imported to Marginnote 3.

Currently, I have to do a text recognition on my PC using Adobe Acrobat Pro before study them on my iPad.

Is there any way I can perform this workflow all on my iPad?

Matte Screen Protector - Pencil Wear?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 10:40 PM PDT

Do all matte screen protectors generally wear down the tip of your Apple Pencil much faster? I'm wondering if there's a better alternative, but I'm skeptical.

I've had my iPad Pro + AP2 for less than a month, and I've already gone through 2 tips. :/

This is the protector I've been using: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07QCVLKG2?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_asin_image

Should I just suck it up and switch to glass? Is it hard to get used to? I'm trying to learn to draw, and I use it to take notes.

Exporting RAW photos to external SSD

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 09:56 PM PDT

Anyone have any luck with it? Doesn't seem consistent when copying files over from my iPad Pro to an external SSD. Ideally, I'd like my workflow to work like this:

    1) Take photos 2) Import SD card contents to photo library or files app 3) Upload photos to LR 4) Transfer RAW files from photo/files to external hard drive

While I have no issues with the photos apps importing from the SD card, I am having issues transferring these 50mb files between devices. Anyone have any luck? I'm using a SanDisk Extreme Porable SSD if it helps. Thanks!

What app do you use as a cross platform note taking app?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 09:23 PM PDT

I'm using Notability mostly for my note taking on the iPad, but I'm using the Mac at the same time as well. So sometimes, I'm on the Mac and I need to take down notes (i.e. paper clippings from PDFs, experimental results), I considered the Mac app of Notability but can't justify to pay extra for it when I've paid already for the iOS version.

I'm looking for a good cross platform note taking app for a student. Something I could update the note using the keyboard of the Mac and then also note down stuff on the go with the iPad and the pencil.

I've considered EverNote (seems bit pricy), or OneNote (last time I used it couple of months back it was bit heavy on the Mac, how is it now?). Suggestions?

Upgrade from 9.7 iPad pro to 11 inch Pro

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 01:50 PM PDT

I bought a 9.7 iPad pro in early 2017 for a great deal. It still runs great after over 2 years of frequent use.

Costco is having a sale on the Pro 11. I've been looking at it for awhile, but am unsure if the updated features would be worth the upgrade.

I primarily use my iPad for watching videos and playing mobile games. I would also like to use it for college notes with the Pencil 2.

Is it worth upgrading to the new one even though my old one works fine? If you've owned a 9.7 pro and a 11 inch pro, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

Has anyone really replaced their MacBook with an iPad Pro without loosing efficiency in their workflow?

    Posted: 15 Oct 2019 08:18 PM PDT

I exchanged my MacBook for an iPad Pro 10.5 and a Mac mini. I'm a wannabe writer and project manager working from home and I like to go out to work in coffee shops, so now I take the iPad, a keyboard and a mouse with me. I use Word and Excel a lot, plus a couple of other apps. Even with the new OS, I find myself struggling to keep an efficient workflow. Still feels like the iPad is made primarily for media consumption rather than productivity. Anyone else is thinking of going back to the laptop?
