Posted: 01 Oct 2019 10:27 PM PDT Hi all, I have macbook pro 13inch. Couple of days ago it suddenly stopped turning on and I had to give it to service center. They kept it for couple of days and yesterday they told me that it's fixed now. When I asked they told me there was no issue and they just cleaned the parts inside it. They then told me to check if it's working fine which I did. Now when today I tried to turn on my laptop it's acting same. I am not sure what is going on. Thanks. [link] [comments]

Posted: 01 Oct 2019 09:16 PM PDT Hello. My brother got my Mom a MacBook like a decade + ago. She used it for awhile, but she ended up getting dementia and basically wasn't able to use it anymore (she has an iPad now). For the past couple of years it's gone unused. Recently, I tried using it. I wanted to update a few things on it, but am unable because I don't know what her system preferences password is. My Mom never wrote it down, and there aren't any hints that come up to help figure it out. I tried emailing my brother about it, but he wasn't able to help. How can I find out what her password is, or change her password without knowing the original? [link] [comments]
Mid '13 Air vs Late '13 Pro Retina Posted: 01 Oct 2019 03:49 PM PDT Hi r/macbook, first time posting and I'll be getting a macbook for the first time ever. i'll mostly be using it for college but i'm really not sure if i should get the pro model with retina display. does the low resolution bother anyone of you? both are 13-inch, the Air has 8GB RAM + 250GB SSD, while the Pro Retina has only 4GB RAM + 120GB SSD. which one should i get? thanks! Posted: 01 Oct 2019 03:50 PM PDT My 2014 macbook air was working fine up until this week. It used to last up to 8 hours or more without having to charge but now it barely lasts two hours (at 50% charged it dies within an hour). The fans are going off loud and it gets extremely hot, which before this week it didn't do. According to about this mac the battery is healthy and I haven't reached the cycle count limit yet. There's also a lot of storage left on it and I usually don't have multiple tabs running at once [link] [comments]
bilingual keyboard skin for macbook US layout Posted: 01 Oct 2019 09:06 AM PDT hi, I have a macbook pro late 2018 with touchbar and an american layout keyboard - rectangular enter key. Does anyone know a bilingual keyboard skin to remember which keys are which on your second language, or a keyboard skin which can be customized with the letters and symbols that you want? What I need is to remember where symbols are on a Danish layout keyboard when typing on my US layout keyboard. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Buying a second hand 2015 vs. a second hand 2017 for photoshop Posted: 01 Oct 2019 08:44 AM PDT Hey folks, sure this has been asked plenty on here but I think my situation is a bit more specific. I'm a photography student so will be using photoshop, bridge and lightroom mainly (but nothing heavier). In the UK second hand 13 inch 2015 models are £450-550, compared to a 13 inch 2017/18 model which is £650-750. The USB C port thing doesn't bother me, but basically, performance wise and general build quality wise, is a newer model worth an extra 100 pounds? [link] [comments] |
