    I was outside for hours in light rain and my Mac was in my backpack, after I got inside I turned it on and it worked fine, but now 24h later after charging it all day it won't do anything.

    Edit: just realized that when plugging in the charger, it stays green as if it was 100%, don't know if this helps.

    Two new MacBook Pros shutting off randomly.

    So basically to get to the point, I got a 13" MacBook Pro yesterday and it would shut off whenever it wanted to, typically around 80% and wouldn't turn on again without the power cable, happened around 4 times and I returned it today. I got it replaced and the same thing is happening. I find it really hard to believe I got unlucky twice or that this is a common issue.

    Move to Apple but prefer Google services & design?

    Long-time Android user with a OnePlus device. I love the OnePlus and the Google Eco system (gmail, calendar, contacts, widgets, keep, etc) it is excellent.

    I do have a macbook, but I dont like the Mail or Calendar apps so I always use Goog Services in browser. The new iPhone is nice, but pretty much the only reason I purchased it is because I want to use the Apple Watch for a few key reasons. The Apple Hardware is nice, but as far as services I think Google is far cleaner and just overall way better.

    When moving to iPhone, is there a way I can still use my Google services that I enjoy? For example, when I save contacts on my OnePlus, they automatically were saved to my Google Contacts, etc. I just don't want to fully delve in another eco system, trying to sync over all my contacts, calendar, etc. to Apple/iCloud.

    I enjoy how Google can be used seamlessly on the phone AND in browser on Google websites- I just think it works better. I had an iPhone SE for a short stint this year and when using Mail things didn't sync on time, etc. just wasn't as good of an experience or design. Finally didn't seem to make sense adding a middle man app (apples) of you will when I could just use Google directly.

    I also have Google setup so that if I go inactive for 9 months everything deletes etc.

    Just wanting to know if there is anyway I can sync my Google contacts without uploading all my info to Apple, etc in some way and still keep using Google services as much as possible?

    Installer Problems - Catalina

    Ive been having an issue installing any torrent software. Im wondering if anybody knows of a work around. Its odd that i havent had installer issues with any other software besides doing my fresh install with catalina besides bittorrent or utorrent.

    Help with Apple Watch 4 weird display zoom glitch

    Has anyone encountered and knows what causes this display zoom glitch? I's the Apple Watch 4 with latest WatchOS.

    It sometimes happens when picking up the watch from the charging dock and/or when simply picking up from the bedside table.

    The only way to get rid of it seems to be a forced restart of the watch.

    Code -2101F cant reinstall catalina os

    tried to recover the system after erasing all data. I closed the disk utility after easing. Then I tried to recover from internet but it always fails with code -2101F. How to fix this problem?

    Wipe MacBook on MacOS Catalina?

    I would like to wipe my computer and have a fresh OS with no personal files or apps installed. Is there a way to do a fresh restore of MacOS Catalina? Do I have to do the USB thing? All the tutorials I find are for people upgrading. I have Catalina installed and I just want to delete everything on my computer and have a fresh install I can start over with. Thank you.

    Apple Watch won’t pair to phone

    So I accidentally factory reset my Apple Watch and it refuses to pair. When I manually pair it won't display the 6 digit code, and my phone won't pair with the camera. Anything I can do?

    Mac OS Catalina update stuck on "estimating time remaining... screen" after restart

    Hi, I'm posting here because I haven't been able to find a clear answer for his. I originally started the Catalina update on my 2017 MacBook pro with touchbar 2 nights ago and when I woke up the next morning my MacBook was still stuck at the "estimated time remaining" screen after rebooting. In fact the progress bar hadn't changed either. I then shut down the MacBook, and when it was powered on, it just went back to the estimating time remaining screen and it's been this way with zero progress for the past 15 hours.

    Any fixes? I'm not sure why this is happening.

    iPhone is dead and won't charge, how to get data?

    Hi guys,

    I have an iPhone 7. So today it charged completely fine, and then tonight when the battery got pretty low I plugged it in to charge, and it wouldn't. I tried cleaning the port out but it didn't help. I then figured out that if i pull up on the charger while it's plugged in, i can get the phone to say it's charging, but it won't actually charge. So if someone knows how to fix this that would be amazing.

    Anyway, if i can't fix it, and the phone can't turn on (it'll show me the dead battery symbol and but wont actually charge when plugged in) is there any way i could get the data off of the phone? Specifically photos and videos. I don't have a backup that's too recent.

    Any input is appreciated, thanks in advance.

    Wi-fi Help for Apple Products on Hotel Wi-fi

    Hello r/applehelp!

    I need some help. I work at a hotel and our free wi-fi service isn't working for apple products. I have had 3 Ipads and at least 10 different I-phones of different models come up to me and say they can't get on the internet. My Galaxy, My co-workers Pixel, and my laptop (windows) all connect. Every other wi-fi enabled product connects, but Apple products aren't connecting. Can I get some tips?

    Pairing Watch Series 5 with a 2017 VW Passat?

    I replaced my series 0 with a series 5 with LTE. Now trying to pair it with all my vehicles.

    I was able to successfully pair my 2015 Toyota Highlander, but having issues with my 2017 VW Passat.

    Basically when I initiate the pairing sequence from the watch, both devices confirm the same pin, however the verification step fails each time. Has anyone else had success? I'd suspect any VW model released in the 4th quarter of 2016 share the same basic infotainment unit.

    Adobe products not working in OS Catalina. Stuck! Help!

    Hi guys,

    I've updated to Catalina on Mac, and now my Adobe products dont work. I cant update them because none of the installers/uninstallers work either. Is there any way to work around this? I'm stuck in limbo and have work to do.

    It would have been nice to receive a bloody warning about this from Adobe, but nothing.

    Huge amounts charged from subscriptions

    My GF has had several subscriptions to various services for several years, never checking her bank account as to why she was being charged.

    The amount is likely over 2000 dollars to apps she's used for maybe 1 week (free first-month-subscriptions) and only uninstalled, but never cancelled the subscriptions of; dating back several years. (App examples are Smule, Guess the song music games pop, Vip subscription 1 week, Sleep cycle... and the list goes on.)

    She's also a student, so it's a quite significant amount to her.

    Is there any chance of getting some or all of these apps charged back to her?

    I found an old iPod 4th generation in my house, and I've been trying to get apps on it, but the phone will only work on iOS 6, meaning if I try to download something from the App Store, I'll get either "This App Is Incompatible With This Phone", or "This application requires iOs *iOS version* or later. You must update to iOS *iOS version* in order to download and use this application". The only app I've been able to download was some crappy 2048 game. I was wondering if there was some way to get the old, but working, versions of apps like Instagram and Snapchat onto it, or if someone had the old .ipa file for those apps, for iOS 6.1.6 and below.

    the apps I've been trying to get are Instagram, Snapchat, Youtube, and/or Spotify.

    I changed the iphone battery and according to the app she was healthy (94%) which is what I found normal. I formatted the phone and had some complications but resolved. However when I went to see the health of the battery was now 31%. Nevertheless it says that it can still provide battery for maximum performance and I in normal use see no degradation (my previous battery was at 74% and sometimes at 30% turned off by itself) Is this normal (a bug) or am I scammed on the new battery?

    Finder iPhone Sync attempts to add several gigs of content I didn't ask it to? Also, how to skip backup?

    I just updated to Catalina on my 2015 12" Macbook and am trying to sync my iPhone XS Max in Finder, but despite not making any changes to what music I want synced (the only thing I've opted to allow it to sync), it attempts to add at least 5GB (likely more, it just says 5GB is how much more storage the phone needs to sync) of content. How can I figure out what it's adding?

    Also, is it possible to skip backup when syncing through Finder? I don't have anything I care about losing on my phone that isn't already backed up, and it is an unbelievably time-intensive (and storage-intensive) process to backup my 256GB phone every time I want to add a new album or something. It should be a 5 minute process, max. I don't intend to bother with iCloud storage. I know the last version of iTunes allowed you to click the "syncing" indicator next to the backup progress bar to skip the process, has that been changed?

    Series 2 watch now useless? Won’t pair. Please help.

    Bought 2 years ago and was paired to my iphone6s. Wife used it for a couple weeks. Then not used for a bit over a year. Being more active so decided to use it again. Charged it up and everything looked fine.

    Went to pair with same phone as watch app had been deleted and reinstalled. Wouldn't work. Did a factory reset of both phone and watch after trying anything else Apple support and internet could recommend. Phone has 13.1.3

    Now watch can't do anything. It boots up. Choose language, region, then it wants to be paired. Attempts to pair normally don't work. Manual attempts the phone will recognize the watch and vice versa. However watch will not give 6 digit code to complete pairing.

    Tried to pair it with other phones. Same result. Genius Bar couldn't pair it either and ha e me option of mailing it to Apple. Since warranty is only a year it would cost me $240 for them to look at it. A new series 3 is $199...

    Also no trade in value as they are saying it can't pair.

    Seems like it's something simple. Phone is in like new condition all around.

    Does anyone have any recommendations? Super hesitant to buy another Apple Watch.

    How to use "Find My" App with pc?

    I want to try out using the "Find My" app (I think formally it was "Find My iPhone") on my iPad but I do not quite understand how it works and how to use it.

    Lets say I lost my iPad somewhere. It is locked and is still connected (hopefully) and I do not know where I last left it. I go on my laptop and open "Find My /iPhone" app on the laptop. It directs me to icloud.com and I sign in. When I sign in, it requires me to click on "allow" for laptop to sign in to my account then requires me to type in a 6 digit code.

    Clicking on "allow" and typing in the 6 digit code is good for extra security but if I have to do that how can I sign in to find my 'iPad' through my laptop if I need my iPad to sign in?

    Am I perhaps using it wrong?

    iMessage on macbook seems to be disconnected from it's archive folder. How to fix?

    I'm running OSX 10.9.5 on a late 2013 macbook pro. I had a memory leak the other day, during which available space dropped to a few hundred MB, and iMessage popped up and said that due to low available memory some incoming messages might get lost. No big deal, I thought. I cleared some space on the HD and restarted.

    Ever since, when I open iMessage it looks like all the data is there, but when I click on any individual conversation all of the data in it vanishes. I can still send and receive messages from the macbook, but the history vanishes as soon as I click away from that individual conversation.

    I found the archive folder, and it appears to be intact, including archives of messages from after this happened, but for some reason it isn't being displayed in the actual application.

    Kind of at a loss on what to do, so any thoughts or advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

    iPhone acting up ever since I bought icloud storage.

    Hello everyone, i have an iPhone 7 Plus (128Gb). I've used up almost all of the storage on my phone and i do not have it backed up to my computer or through icloud. I figured i would buy icloud storage (200GB) and all of a sudden, I can't delete pictures from my phone. I'm trying to clear up memory but nothing will delete. Phone is a little slower, and now many of my pictures on my snapchat memories disappeared. Any solution to this? (Sorry i also do not know how to navigate these icloud settings so it's very frustrating trying to see what's being backed up or not)
