| Posted: 30 Oct 2019 08:52 PM PDT Okay so I have been taking a lot of pictures, portrait mostly and for some reasons, whenever I look at YouTube for how people take pictures of themselves, of people, of the landscape. They always look so high quality like it actually comes from DSLR camera but it's from iPhone 11/Pro. What I saw that I don't know if I put the setting wrong or something but when I took pictures, I zoomed in, it came out looking like smearing and blurry. Like paint-like smearing. What did I do wrong with the camera setting? Was wondering if I could hear some tips from actually professional photographers who can help give some tips. | Macbook crash and wont accept password anymore Posted: 30 Oct 2019 05:03 PM PDT Hello everyone, the macbook pro (2017) of my girlfriend crashed today. After she tried to restart it it wouldn´t accept her password anymore. We tried now a lot of things. We tried to log in with apple id which brought up the message "Reset Password Failed The supplied iCloud account was unable to unlock this volume." a bit later we got the message "An error occurred in mounting your volume. Restart your computer to try again." We also went to the Disk Utility to unlock the harddrive but here it also wont accept the password. We also went to the Terminal and typed "resetpassword" with no resault. Friday is holiday here so we cant give the macbook away before Monday. Does maybe anyone else have an idea of how to save it? Or how to maybe at least safe the data on it? Thank you very much in advance for any help. [link] [comments]  |

| Time Machine stall - how long is too long? Posted: 30 Oct 2019 03:13 PM PDT I am having issues with time machine. I am trying to do the first back up to a 4TB harddrive and it is going really slow. I started the back up about 18 hours ago and when it initiated it was moving along slowly but steadily. However, now it has slowed down considerably. 12 hours ago it was at 20.39GB (out of 1TB) and currently it is at 20.47GB. So its doing something, just very slowly. I read into forums and know it can take some time for the first back up to complete. But how long is too long? Also, I am doing a back on a laptop that I use for work. Fortunately, most of the time I work from home but I may have to stop the process when I head into the office at the end of the week. If I stop the process will it restart at the same place, or will it start from the beginning? [link] [comments]  |

| MacBook Pro keeps freezing and not allowing me to force quit anything Posted: 30 Oct 2019 08:42 PM PDT Google chrome keeps freezing and then whatever i click on next also freezes and by the time i get to the force quit menu everything freezes. I tried waiting it out but after 1.5 hours nothing changed so i shut it down with the power button. After that everything seems perfectly fine. But after about an hour it does it again. Im on the 3rd time and dont feel like this is a good solution at all obviously haha. I have only chrome and itunes open so idk whats going on. [link] [comments]  |

| Screensaver stops turning on once in a while Posted: 30 Oct 2019 07:52 PM PDT Every once in a while my screensaver on Mojave will stop automatically turning on. If I restart, it'll work fine again. Using a hot corner will turn it on, so it seems there's no issue with the actual screensaver, it's just that it doesn't turn on by itself anymore. | Siri suddenly doesn't know who I am Posted: 30 Oct 2019 06:52 PM PDT My contact card is set correctly, as I set it years ago, but when I ask Siri on iPhone what's my name it says: 'I don't know your name, but if you update your information in contacts, then I'll know' It sometimes brings up the correct contact card when it does this, other times it's just the voice response. Siri on iPad knows who I am just fine though. I even set my contact card again in Siri and Search and rebooted the phone, but it didn't work. Posted: 30 Oct 2019 06:29 PM PDT I have an SD card adapter but when I insert an SD card and put it into my iPhone X (iOS 12), it will pull up my photos app but then I will see nothing. There is no imports tab or anything it just pulls up my Photos app. I tried 2 different adaptors which did the same thing. I tested the SD Card on my Macbook and it worked perfectly. | Posted: 30 Oct 2019 05:15 PM PDT I just bought an iPhone 11 on Sunday night. I have owned this phone for about 2.5 days. I traded in my Pixel 3 XL because I thought I would give Apple a shot since google would only offer me $260 for a trade-in for the new Pixel 4 whereas Apple gave me $300. This morning while in class I noticed a small white smudge on my rear camera lens (bottom camera lens). I have had a MaxBoost mWallet Case on my iPhone since the day of purchase. The white smudge on the bottom rear camera lens ended up being a small fracture. There is no other damage to the phone. Not even around the rim of the camera lens. I contacted Apple Support and they said it cracked due to the magnet/metal plate in the phone case. I have been repairing iPhones for 3+ years and have never heard of magnets shattering glass. I also have never dropped this phone and when placed in my pockets it remains separate from anything else in my pockets such as keys or my wallet. Here are the screenshots of my conversation with the Apple Technician. I have been researching this as best as I could and couldn't find anything related but I came across this https://9to5mac.com/2019/09/23/iphone-11-drop-tests/ Even an 11-foot drop test the only thing that was damaged was the Rear Camera itself - no glass damage. I took it to the Apple Store near me and they agreed they were not sure how it cracked but they said the only option was to pay $399. $399 for the REAR CAMERA GLASS?! They then said I could purchase AppleCare+ for $149 + $99 for a new device because they do not repair the Rear Camera Glass. Yet, if you have a broken display & AppleCare+ a replacement is $29 plus tax. So a $0.10 cent piece of glass is more expensive than an iPhone 11 display? I can't even purchase the iPhone 11 Rear Camera Glass Replacement to repair it myself as it has not hit the market yet. What a fucking joke. [link] [comments]  |
