MacBook Pro (late 2011) turning itself off and then rebooting with this screen (or similar) Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:37 AM PDT |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:39 PM PDT Hey guys! In March I switched my dear old Macbook Air out for a brand new Macbook Pro 2,2 GHz i7 with 32Gb of RAM. Since I work in the music industry I needed a powerful workhorse that would be able to handle most of my Music Production tasks. I had been working on my Macbook Air since 2014 and I was always pretty happy with the outcome, didn't get hot at all, fans almost never went on and I was still doing pretty heavy work in Logic Pro. I definetly didn't think that the fan and the heat would be an issue with my new Macbook Pro since I spent almost 3000$ and even bumped up to 32Gb so it would handle the workload. Normally I just sit with the computer on my lap and only doing light tasks like surfing the web, doing some light editing work or watching a movie and my new Macbook Pro gets really hot and really loud even when doing VERY light tasks almost every time I have to move it to a table to cool it down. This is really annoying since my 1000$ Macbook Air from 2014 is handling the same workload MUCH better when looking at the heat and fans. Don't even get me started on when I open Logic Pro X, it instantly get so loud and hot that it's not even normal compaired to my old Macbook Air. I've already had around 10 visits and countless phone calls to the Apple Store because two of my previous 2018 Macbook pro's were broken when I bought them. First time the battery drained super fast and 2nd time some fan problem. What do you think guys? Do you think Macbook Pro 2019 would be any better regarding the heat and fan issues? Will Apple do anything in this regard, or not? I can't return it because obviously the 14 days return policy is over. Thanks! [link] [comments] |

Would Apple accept iPhone X with cracks on the back glass panel for trade-in? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 07:20 PM PDT Otherwise, the iPhone is in good condition and 100% functional. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:32 PM PDT My iphone charges super slow like 6 percent an hour and it doesn't show that its charging. Ive checked if it was dust and its not and i dont think water went in the charge port. And also if I go 5 feet away from the router my WiFi goes to one bar. [link] [comments] |
How can I prevent the safari hold menu from showing image previews or url previews? (IPADOS) Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:01 PM PDT I'm getting pretty annoyed by that feature. It causes the hold down menu to move out from under my finger to another location. [link] [comments] |
Hide hidden iOS photos from the Image Capture app Posted: 03 Oct 2019 09:44 PM PDT iOS always you to hide photos. But they show up in the Image Capture app on Mac OS. Is there any way to prevent that from happening? [link] [comments] |
Question regarding fast charging iPhone 11 Posted: 03 Oct 2019 09:34 PM PDT I'm upgrading to an iPhone 11 and I've not used a "fast charger" before. Is there any reason to go higher than 18W, or is that the highest that the phone supports? Also I've heard some conflicting info about the cables needed. Can I use USB-A to Lightning or does it need to be USB-C to Lightning? [link] [comments] |
Locked iPhone 5, need to access data. Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:49 PM PDT Iphone is running ios 7, is there any possible way I can get the data from the phone? Specifically the photos. [link] [comments] |

Music won’t change through steering wheel controls since IOS 13 Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:20 PM PDT I figured the new update after 13 would fix the issue but has not. Hitting next song on my steering wheel makes the song pause and show the next song for a moment before kicking back to the previous where it left off. Pretty annoying as you now have to manually change the song from the phone which is VERY dangerous while driving. I've heard a few friends having the same issues. [link] [comments] |
Better ePub organizer for iOS than the standard Books app? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:06 PM PDT I only have about 300 books at the moment, but I've already got 25 different Collections going and I am really hurting for subfolders (e.g. top folder Children's Books, subfolders Laura Ingalls Wilder, Roald Dahl, Beverly Cleary, etc.). Is anyone else doing this better on iOS? [link] [comments] |
Accidentally cleared my disk on Mac, can’t get anything back? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:46 PM PDT Hi all. So yesterday in an attempt to just wipe my computer of a bunch of junk I didn't need anymore, I stupidly decided to erase the Macintosh HD disk. Now when I start up my computer I go into options as it won't start up normally and have tried everything from looking in restore from time machine, reinstalling a new copy of Mac OS (but I don't have a flash drive anyway) to finding any possible disc on the Mac that still works, but nothing. I really don't have time to take it into a repair store because I need it for school work and I've very computer illiterate so I really have no clue where to start. Is there anyway possible I can get my disk back or somehow get a new one without a flash drive or help from anywhere else? I've looked up about every YouTube tutorial there is Thanks in advance [link] [comments] |
iPhone 11 Screen Scratches Issues Posted: 03 Oct 2019 04:37 PM PDT So, I've just got my iPhone 11 base model on release day. I was very excited to get one, due to its long lasting battery and dropped price in comparison to the iPhone XR. I previously had an iPhone 6S and never had any sort of scratches on the screen (except when I dropped it on a flight stairs and of course the screen was cracked and got it fixed). However, with the iPhone 11, numerous scratches have popped up out of nowhere in a mere two weeks. The phone has never been dropped, I've been super careful with it, and should be in top condition. I've never used a screen protector with the iPhone 6S and felt like it was the right move since, like I said previously, no scratches ever occurred and felt like the iPhone 11 would be an even a better experience since it's supposed to be a "tougher glass". Quite the contrary. I'm very disappointed by this and I've checked online that many people suffer from the exact same thing. I really hope Apple addresses this issue, because it seems to be increasingly growing with each iPhone 11 user. So, I was wondering if more people were suffering from this issue too? Also, if you haven't got an iPhone 11 but are thinking of getting one, I highly suggest getting a screen protector, at least until Apple addresses this issue (hopefully). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 08:09 PM PDT I know I am kinda stupid for doing this, but I was trying to figure something else out. It was an apple website but I realized later that it wasn't verified as secure or whatever, and I'm worried it was a fake apple website. I'm also a bit paranoid in general. [link] [comments] |
What’s all of the other storage on my phone? iPhone X 13.1.2 Posted: 03 Oct 2019 07:46 PM PDT |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 03:54 PM PDT Hey guys! First time posting on here. I have a Macbook Pro Early 2015 model, and my friend told me in March that Apple are repairing the issue on the screens of 'delamination', where the anti-glare coating comes off on the screen. I have taken a picture of mine here. As you can hopefully see, the issue is pretty bad. I took mine in for repair in June, but they said that it will take a while to repair and I needed to back up my stuff, but because of my university commitments I couldn't afford to be without a machine for a prolonged period. I then went on holiday, where my laptop unfortunately was drenched in water due to the roof leaking in our rented apartment. My Macbook worked, but only with the AC charger attached. As soon as I came back to the UK, I went to Apple and got a quote for the repair. They quoted me £860 to repair everything inside the Macbook, and said that I couldn't get my screen replaced for free until I had everything repaired. I took it to an independent Apple repair store (unofficial) who managed to replace the battery and fix the charging circuit for just £180. Now my laptop is working perfectly. I decided to speak to someone on live chat about it, and see whether I can still get the screen fixed. They said that if the laptop is in working condition, and no physical damage, they should be able to repair it. I have booked an appointment for this Sunday, but before I go I would like to know where I stand: can they refuse the repair if I have had my Macbook repaired from somewhere else? I have had a few thoughts about it, and my warranty expired a while ago, as I bought it 3.5 years back, so I couldn't have voided the warranty by doing so, and surely they can't expect me to have all repairs done from just Apple? Any thoughts appreciated! [link] [comments] |

Posted: 03 Oct 2019 06:43 PM PDT So I have an issue where there are images i deleted in a conversation but when i checked the "i", the images still show up. I've tried holding on each image till it gives me the option to delete and it doesn't do anything when i click it. Any help would be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
Should I buy Apple Airpods right now? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 12:26 PM PDT I ask this because next year when the new iphone is gonna come out (iphone 12, or whatever the name is), I will be buying it (I currently own a s10e). I mostly have apple devices. I also ask this because I was wondering if there is going to be any new airpods coming out (like airpods 3). If no, then should I buy Apple Airpods 2 or 1? And if yes, when will it release? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Oct 2019 10:40 AM PDT I've used Android phones most of my life and am heavily considering switching to apple in a few months. I have one or two apps I've purchased through the Play Store. They didn't cost much, $2-3 all in all, so if I have to repurchase them it isn't a big issue, but it'd be nice if I didn't have to. Would these apps be able to be transferred to the new phone? Currently I'm using the LG V30+ and will likely get the 7 or 8. I don't really know much about phones/technology and am still figuring out Reddit, so my apologies if this is a stupid question or the wrong sub to ask this in. [link] [comments] |
Kernel Panic Errors Over the Past Several Weeks (Mainly Slack) Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:54 PM PDT This is on a 2015 MacBook pro running the latest OS: Every now and then my computer will start to encounter some weird display errors (not sure what to call it - windows get all screwed up, portions of the screen are black/white, etc.) and then the computer will crash. It seems to usually be related to Slack (although it has happened with other software) and it only tends to happen when I have a lot of programs running at once. I'll have Slack open on a second desktop and when I go to switch over to it I'll get those display errors and then it crashes. A black screen comes up saying "Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wait a few seconds to continue starting up" (It also has this in like 6 different languages, with a gray "on" button design behind it.) Anyway, this is the error I got from the last time it happened, which was related to Slack. Any help would be much appreciated! Don't have a clue what I'm doing with this stuff. [link] [comments] |
Migrating Time Machine from Mac Pro to iMac possible? Posted: 03 Oct 2019 05:46 PM PDT I have a Mac Pro 2010 with Mojave. In the past I have rebuilt my machine, and simply inherited the Time Machine backup like so: sudo tmutil inheritbackup /Volumes/Time\ Machine\ Backups/Backups.backupdb/tesla sudo tmutil associatedisk -a /Volumes/Macintosh\ HD /Volumes/Time\ Machine\ Backups/Backups.backupdb/tesla/2019-05-31-164931/Macintosh\ HD/ Can I simply do the same with a different hardware platform (Same OS version)? What if the computer names are different, can I just rename the old Time Machine directory to the new computer name and then just do the above commands? [link] [comments] |
