eGPU suggestions for 13in 2019 MacBrook Pro? Posted: 25 Sep 2019 12:40 AM PDT Bought a MacBook Pro (base model with 256gb ssd) for my student/work needs, but I wanted to dabble into gaming a bit. So far WoW at high settings runs pretty amazingly. For testing purposes I tried to run fortnite and yea..not amazing, getting around 40fps at standard settings. It's worth mentioning I have a gaming PC with an nvidia 1050ti but I'd rather sell the PC. I've got a nice desktop setup for my MacBook, and it would be nice to fully turn it into a "do it all" machine. Now of course I'm not expecting the same results for gaming as my PC, but I'm also not demanding when it comes to FPS. 60-100 MAX would be ideal. It would be nice to have the 1050ti that I already own. Would love to hear some suggestions! [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Sep 2019 05:20 PM PDT Hi! As title says.. Yeah. But besides that, I found this one: And the Q&As have conflicting reports about whether it'll work in a mid-2012 13-inch MacBook Pro or not.. Help? [link] [comments]
Is there a workaround to make the touchpad haptic feedback stronger? Posted: 24 Sep 2019 11:10 PM PDT I just switched to a 2018 MacBook Pro from a windows laptop and I'm still trying to get used to everything. I'm liking it so far, it's just the only thing that bothers me is the trackpad feels too "soft" even after setting the click to firm in preferences. I noticed that the haptic can go even stronger when you use force touch and I was wondering if there was a way to set that as the regular click strength. [link] [comments]
Posted: 25 Sep 2019 01:14 AM PDT I bought it recently. Does the space bar feel different to you? It feels very different to my other keys.. compared to my enter key - enter is more easily to press. space bar, depending which part of the bar you click its response is softer. Is it supposed to be like this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 25 Sep 2019 12:49 AM PDT Hello all, I am a new macbook user, and the only problem that I have with macbook is android file transfer. Problem is that when I try to transfer my photos from android phone (samsung s10) the program freezes and rainbow circle appears. When I select a folder with < 20 photos it is not a problem, but when I select my main folder with around 400 photos then it freezes. Is there any solution for that. My macbook is: macbook air 2019. Thank you and sorry for any grammar mistakes english is not my main language. [link] [comments]
Macbook freezes when running OS X, not in windows Posted: 25 Sep 2019 12:38 AM PDT My macbook keeps freezing. Anywhere between 2-20 minutes of use. It doesn't seem to happen if I boot the mac and leave it alone. However, if I do anything once the desktop is loaded, it seems to start "the timer" ie, boot, open/close a window then leave it alone and wait, and it'll freeze after 2-20 minutes. I've never experienced any freeze like it using Windows (bootcamp) By freezing, the OS locks up instantly and entirely, the screen stays on and doesn't distort for about 10 seconds, then sometimes reboots, sometimes black screen, very occasionally persists in its frozen "on" state but remains unresponsive until hard reboot.
I've done (at least what I'd call) extensive troubleshooting:
There's probably other things I've done I can't recall right now. I first noticed it about 3 months ago, and have just reverted to using Windows for now. 15" Retina Macbook Pro 2014. 4th Gen i7 2.5ghz, 16gb DDR3, iris pro 5200/nvidia 750m 2gb, 512gb PCIe I'd love to hear any suggestions others might have. As it runs without fault on Windows I am unconvinced of a hardware fault [link] [comments]
2013 MacBook Pro not powering on Posted: 24 Sep 2019 11:24 PM PDT I have a 2013 MacBook Pro 13.3 inch that will not time on. It was left at full battery and I went to turn it on and it did nothing. I tried resetting the SMC and it did nothing. When I put it in, the charging light goes straight to green. One thing to note is that when I press caps lock, the light comes on. Nothing else though. Any thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 24 Sep 2019 03:41 PM PDT I am an engineering student. Going to buy a macbook pro. I am conflicted between 8gb and 16gb RAM. I would need bootcamp->windows->solidworks/autocad Other than this no heavy stuff, ill only use it for coding, watching tv etc Is that 8 gb extra worth it? It wont be shipped till 8th oct [link] [comments]
Question: 2014 mid MacBook Pro 13 inch retina Posted: 24 Sep 2019 03:28 PM PDT I have had my old MacBook sitting for 1-2 years, noticed the anti glare coat came off, is apple still willing to fix this due to "staingate" or any solutions? [link] [comments]
Can’t make up my mind! 2018 MPB or 2019 price... Posted: 24 Sep 2019 07:18 PM PDT 2018 15" 512gb, 16gb, 21 cycles for $1800 Or Brand new 2019 15" 256gb, 16gb also for $1800 Is the thermal and butterfly upgrade worthy of less storage space?? [link] [comments]

What eGPU and graphics card should I buy? Posted: 24 Sep 2019 02:23 PM PDT I just bought the 13 inch MacBook Pro, 8gb and 256. I'm planning on buying an eGPU and graphics card for an external monitor, but I don't know what I should pick (new to eGPUs and Mac). I'm not really worried about the price of the graphics card and the eGPU I was looking at is the Razor Core X. The only game I really play is Sims, so the graphics card doesn't have to be that great or anything, I just don't know which one to buy that'll work with the core x and MacBook. Thanks! Posted: 24 Sep 2019 12:55 PM PDT Hi, So i have a macbook pro 15" from 2013 with a gt750m and an i7. Currenlty it is running at around 70C just browsing the internet and when i run a basic game (old school runescape which is a game from 2007 and is really low end in terms of reqs) it ramps up the fans to what i can only guess is full as it sounds like a jet engine and hits temps of high 80s and low 90s. Im not bothered with the performance of the machine as it doesnt seem to have a slow moment just that the cpu is hella toasty and the fans are loud. I have repasted the cpu using arctic mx4 and have even bought the cyronaut carbonaut as i thought it would make a difference, ive also gotten rid of all dust in the pc. What diagnostics should i do in order to find a problem, ive tried resetting the cms and the above. imgur link to show activity monitor and such. Thanks [link] [comments]

2016 Macbook Pro 15" (Touchbar) vs. 2019 Macbook Pro 13" (Touchbar) Posted: 24 Sep 2019 11:56 AM PDT What would you do? I'm trying to decide if I should sell my 2016 Macbook Pro 15" (specs below) for a 2019 Macbook Pro 13" (specs below). I've found that I'm not using my laptop as much as I thought (doing more heavy work on my deskotp) and would like the portability of a 13". That said, do you think there is a significant difference in terms of performance? I don't want to see a huge drop if I switched over. 2016 Macbook Pro 15" (full specs here)

MacBook Pro randomly crashing.. Help? (Could it be a failing hard drive?) Posted: 24 Sep 2019 01:13 AM PDT Hi there, I have a MacBook Pro I got back in 2012, and every few days, it'll randomly crash. Someone suggested to me it could be because of a failing hard drive, but I'm -so- new to this.. Is there any way I can check? Can anyone help me out with this? :( [link] [comments]
