    Hey r/iOS!

    As you all know, Apple is going to be releasing their new streaming service Apple TV+ this fall. With this new service, comes a lot of new and original content made by Apple. With Apple TV+ being available on iOS, it would only make sense that everything Apple TV+ related should be allowed to be posted here. However, after talking it out with the rest of the mod team, we decided that it would start to get a bit spammy as the service gains more content over time. So to combat this issue, we are excited to introduce to you, r/tvPlus!

    r/tvPlus will be your one-stop-shop for everything Apple TV+. We plan on having discussion threads for each episode there so you won't have to worry about spoilers either! We took some inspiration from /r/blackmirror and /r/shield regarding their episode discussion threads.

    I’m baffled of how bad the Apple Maps satellite algorithms are... this is a VERY touristic city in Latin America (VALPARAISO) and the satellite view is all covered by clouds. SMH

    So I currently use 1password on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. My wife uses it on her iPhone and PC. We purchased 1password before the subscription model and are fine with version 6 - no real need for subscription or upgrades at this time.

    I'm currently having an issue with my 1password account that I'm working on fixing, but they're initial recommendation was to upgrade to the subscription plan. I'd prefer not to spend that amount of money annually for a family plan.

    In case I need to switch applications, what are good alternatives that are cheaper (doesn't have to be free), and work well on iOS, Mac and PC? I love that 1password works with touch/faceID. And managing several vaults is a breeze. I also use the secure notes options and add images to them. 1password integrates so well into all my devices that it makes having the long secure passwords easy.

    Hope that good alternatives exist. Have heard of Bitwarden, but don't know enough about it - would that meet my needs?

    The News disappeared from my Widgets

    I changed the region of my iPhone in the setting to USA so I was able to get the official News app from apple (It's not available in my country), then I accidentally deleted the app, and the news Widget (it was available before the region changing) disappeared, so I thought that resetting the correct region would fix the problem, but since then I can't get the News widget back, I also tried resetting the iPhone but nothing chanced, anyone have any ideas?

    Best 2FA for iOS? (Dropping 1Password)

    Hey guys, with the new subscription model behind 1Password's new version, I want to drop it and consolidate everything in Keychain.

    I know 1Password has a lot of other capabilities Keychain does not, but the only one I'd really miss is the built-in One-Time Password generator (which I don't even use very often).

    What is the best OTP password generator on iOS, since Keychain can't do it natively?

    Or is Apple's upcoming "Sign In with Apple" feature going to make it a moot point?

    does icloud photos suck for managing huge photo libraries? i'm talking 60000+ images.

    so i've been thinking about jumping ship to icloud photos from google photos. i don't mind the transfer process, cuz i have a solid data plan. what i'm concerned about is, if i move my 60000+ photos to icloud, will it slow down the day-to-day photos related functions of my phone? like, i've heard people complain that trying to select a photo via instagram app takes too long because their icloud photos lib is massive and it takes some 20 secs for the image list to appear.

    could anyone comment on this?

    I'm working at a project with a small group of 10 people, most of them have iOS devices but I have 2 persons I think with Android. I'm looking for an app that will permit us to put our schedule in one calendar so everybody could see, so we can plan our meetings and working sessions.

    Any free service that notifies (e-mails) you of *specific* movie price sales on iTunes?

    I bought the original 3 Jason Bourne DVDs some time ago. iTunes had a sale on #1, which I bought, since re-watching it is far easier on an iOS device. I almost never watch anything on the TV any more. I'd like to get #2 and #3 on iTunes, but I'm...thrifty...and I'm in no particular hurry. I've heard of a service that monitors multiple movie vendors, but I only want iTunes, and I'm only willing to accept minimal unsolicited info (i.e., marketing), so media from other vendors is a waste of my attention.

    I don't want to convert my DVDs. iTunes fills a welcome niche for me that I can download my purchases over Wi-Fi whenever I want, using only that iOS device.

    Siri noise after sending a message

    Hey guys.

    Was just curious if anyone else experienced a random Siri noise occurring after sending an iMessage?

    i still haven't figured out what causes it to happen, but I noticed when it does happen it's right after I send an iMessage and then try to back out by clicking the arrow in the top left. I'm guessing I miss the arrow and hit something else, but I am not able to consistently reproduce it.

    This is noise even happens when the phone is on silent mode.

    But the noise Siri makes when you go through those steps is not the same one I'm hearing.

    Downgrading to iOS 6 after battery replacement on iPhone 4s

    I recently changed the battery on my spare iPhone 4s. I wanted to update it to the latest version, after apple recently announced a patch. But due to the battery not being an original one, I kept getting error 29 while updating the phone. Now it just turn on and shows the connect to iTunes image. Wanted to know if there's anyway to bypass it and downgrade it to iOS 6 now. I just want to keep it for the sake of nostalgia and don't want to spend on an original battery. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    Infinite download of iOS photos after restore (corrupted?)

    So to reopen a neverending topic, who has (recently) had an issue with Apple Photos taking forever (days) to restore?

    I thought this was fixed in iOS 13 (or iOS 12.0-12.4), but I'm still running into the same old problem as always.

    Brand new phone, running 12.4, restored, and 5 hours into "uploading photos..." (it's gotten nowhere).

    Plugged in, on fast wifi...
