    Mother with dementia keeps resetting Apple ID password

    Our mother has dementia and lives in assisted living. She spends hours happily playing games on her iPad every day. Lately she has been trying to download new games, and is resetting her Apple ID password. She then forgets she has done this, and no one knows the new password.

    Do you know of any way to stop her from doing this? Are there parental controls we can set up?

    We cannot ask her to DO anything. She will not remember, even if she wants to and knows it is in her best interest.

    Facetime and imessage on mac with no iPhone ?

    I have an android I have a macbook air I have friends with iPhones I have apple ID How does one attempt to use imessage or facetime with said macbook using said apple ID? I am very confused because each time I attempt to log in it says that it had a problem activating. Someone help please. (P.S when making apple ID I gave phone number and I dont know if that affects anything)

    Deleted photos on oned iphone, it got deleted on the other one? How can get them back.

    Permanently deleted some old photos on my old iphone 6s and it got deleted on my iphone 8.

    I dont know why would apple add something like this?

    I reseted from an icloud backup, it didnt help. photos are still deleted.

    Giving my phone away, didnt want my old photos on it.

    ANY IDEAS ARE MUCH APPRECIATED. I have some old family photos would love to recover

    iphone 7 smart charging case not working

    i bought an iphone 7 and smart charging case from a friend in jan 2018. in may 2018, the case stopped working. the case charges OK, the phone charges OK, but the case won't charge the phone. the phone recognizes the case and the charging symbol comes up, but my battery still depletes. what can i do to fix it?

    What the heck is wrong with my iPad mini? Ghosting/streaks. Sometimes putting it to sleep or resetting fixes temporarily.

    Can calibrating a battery cause any loss of data?

    I have a MacBook Air with a battery that's been acting up for a while. I was thinking of trying to calibrate the battery and was just concerned if the process of completely draining the battery would cause any data loss or corruption. Do I have to back stuff up or am I good to proceed with this process regardless?

    Removing battery from MacBook Pro to be server.

    Hello all,

    So I have a 2012 MacBook Pro that I no longer use and I plan on using it as a server for file sharing, caching, etc. Would it be a good idea to remove the battery? Since the computer will always be connected to power I thought it might be a good idea to prevent the battery from potentially swelling and destroying the computer.

    Then again, keeping the battery in would be like it's own uninterruptible power supply in the event the power goes out. That would at least prevent data from being corrupted.

    So this just started to happen, the second I connect my iphone 7 to a charger, it shuts down and then gets stuck in a loop between the apple logo and a black screen, it does charge though, and when i disconnect it I can turn it on again just fine, but I cant use it at all while it is charging

    limitations on Apple Card

    I got mine on about the 20th after having applied a week earlier.

    I talked with CS and it was someone from Apple not Goldman. I said — is the Wallet app the only way you can make payments on the card? Can you take the card # and make online bill pay payments?

    I was told NO - Wallet app only.

    I said what if the card holder traded their iPhone for the hot new Android phone. Then what? Are they not going to be able to pay their bill? They can still use the physical card but is their account going to go into collections? It seems like there would have to be some other way to pay the bill. The rep tried saying this is a security issue.

    And you can close your account at any time. I only had one beer tonight and I don't think I was drunk when I had this conversation but I said well what if I close the card and then got an android phone, how would I pay the bill? And so I just stopped at that point 🙂

    One question i didnt ask is — there is a place in the wallet app to remove the card from the wallet. Then what would you do?

    (I was not trying to be difficult here. I see a great temptation to overspend with this card. I may just want to pay off the little bit that I used and close it.)

    Hi fellow mac users. I am trying to find a good work email client to handle multiple accounts and to be able to send rich text emails to my customers. I used Spark so far but it doesnt provide me with the customization I need either inserting shapes, changing email margin, ect like outlook does. Is there a better email app out there? Money is no object btw so throw it at me.

    iPhone XS reboot loop after dropping in water

    My dad dropped his iPhone XS in the hot tub for a split second and immediately pulled it out. It worked perfectly fine for about 30 minutes but then it randomly went into a reboot loop. I've tried the volume up, volume down, hold the lock button technique but it didn't work. Does anyone know anything else I could do?

    Does the "no sim card error" continue between iphones?

    Hi, my iphone 6s has recently been saying "no sim card" i noticed this was just after i dropped it earlier today but i guess that doesn't matter since i'm upgrading to an XR. Basically, would this error transfer to my new uphone, or no? Please help!

    Edit: just updated the iOS, seems like it's okay again and it says "Verizon" again. Will post again if this happens again lol

    What should i do with a semi-working iPhone I found in the river?

    I found an iPhone in the river, looks like an iPhone XR, it was covered in mud. I plugged it in and it turned on (no password) so I tried to send a text/email to the owner but it died within like 30 seconds. Now I'm stuck with an iPhone that isn't working anymore and I'm wondering what to do. I wanted to take it into the Apple store to see what they think but my parents think I should throw it away as I might get in trouble for possessing a stolen phone.

    Advice?

    Sync from 2009 (white) MacBook to new MacBook Pro

    Hello guys..so there seems to be confusion at the Apple store and hoping someone here can answer me this. I recently got the new MacBook Pro and I tried doing time machine on my antique white MacBook running snow leopard but is not allowing it for some weird reason. Went to the Apple store and I got two different answers.

    1) Transfer files on to an external hard drive and transfer it in to the new MacBook Pro because the system is too old for migration assistant.

    Or

    2) Buy Thunderbolt 2 to Thunderbolt 3 adopter and link it that way with migration assistant.

    How to remove eSIM permanently?

    A while back I used an eSIM for a 30-day T-Mobile plan. I am trying to get rid of it permanently. I have used the above method to get it to get off of my cellular settings, but every time my phone gets shut off or restart, it comes back. I have tried "reset network settings", but to no avail. Any idea on how to get rid of this permanently?

    2013 MacBook Pro Locks Me From Everything

    I got this 2013 MacBook Pro (Model: A1502 EMC: 2835) from my cousin. Unfortunately, she forgot her password and when I try to go to recovery mode or terminal. I am greeted with a padlock and I need to enter a password as well. Any suggestions on what I should do?

    MacOS Continuity & ICloud Safari Tabs Will Not See My XS

    I cannot sort out why MacOS Continuity and Safari iCloud tabs on my MBP (or my 5S) will not recognize my iPhone XS. My MBP recognizes my 5S's tabs.

    It has worked sporadically in the past but hasn't worked in over 3 weeks. Oddly, my XS recognizes both my MBP's and 5S's tabs, so the issue is clearly on the MBP side.

    Thus far, I have:

    - Shut off and restarted all devices too many times to count

    - Followed all set-up directions and settings according to Apple's website

    - Logged out of iCloud on all devices and logged back in

    - Ensured all devices are on the same Wifi network

    - Ensured Bluetooth is "On" on all devices

    - Paired my XS > MBP over Bluetooth

    - Directly USB connected my XS > MBP
