If any of you are like me and have home buttons that smudge easily and making Touch ID unusable after a few presses, I highly recommend getting one of these stickers. They work with the newer home buttons on the 7/8, are Touch ID compatible, and best of all, it doesn't smudge. They're 70¢ a pop.

iPhone 8 VS xiomi note 7 pro which one will be faster?

I'm planning to buy a new phone. Would xiomi note 7 pro 6 GB will be faster than iPhone 8? If we compare about the whole speed and also the browser speed, which one would be faster between these two phone?

I have a Galaxy S8 and am able to upgrade as of last month. For the first time ever, I'm considering the switch (mostly for the convenience of iMessage). What should I know before I take the leap?

iPhone XS Max review by long-time Android user. In short, I was wrong and that makes me happy.

    Posted: 30 May 2019 09:10 PM PDT

The only Apple products I've ever owned before a month ago were several iPod Classic devices and a 2008 era MacBook. I've largely ignored Apple as a company because I've found better value elsewhere, or rather perceived value as I viewed it. iPhones, from the outside looking in, always looked to me like basic devices for the masses, whereas flagship Android handsets were for people that wanted to stay on the cutting edge of mobile. More ram, higher resolution screens, customization, etc. If you wanted the best experience you bought an Android. If you wanted a phone that just did what it was supposed to for most people, you bought an iPhone.

    I was wrong.

From the moment I held the iPhone XS Max, I couldn't help but feel like I was holding a premium device. The size, build materials, fit and finish, and that heft. Even the way the haptic feedback lets you know you have a text or that you pressed a key, feels premium. If you're going to spend this kind of money on a phone, it damn well better look and feel the part of a flagship device and yeah, this phone does that. I can safely say that I've personally never held any other handset that feels quite as pleasing in hand as the iPhone XS Max.

Obviously there is more to it than just the feel, and truthfully, it relievers in almost any every other aspect that matters to me. The phone is fast and I haven't experienced a single moment of lag. Granted, I'm not a power user, but launching apps doesn't delay, switching between open apps is quick. It does what I ask it and does it right away. For me, that's a big deal. I want my phone to do what it's told and I don't want to wait around any longer than I have to. The biggest surprise to me coming in is the battery life. I charge my phone every two days and by the time it's ready to charge, in probably could get another 12 to 24 hours if I was careful. It's nice to have a device finally that I can use often and not have to worry about charging it. I could use the hell out of it and I'd still get no less than a full day. That's peace of mind if nothing else.

One of the shocking parts so far has been the gesture based navigation. It was overwhelming st first given 9 years of Android use, but now that I've figured out all the quirks, I don't ever want to go back to any other style of navigating. It's intuitive and I like it.

The only annoyances I have so far is that Siri feels like she's two generations behind Google Assistant, both in features and speed to text recognition. The other gripe is the text prediction. It's bad. Real bad.

I want to end this on a good note so here is a quick overview of what I really like about this phone that I haven't already talked about:

    • Bluetooth range and penetration is tip top.
    • Speakers are loud
    • Keyboard has the perfect key spacing and key hit detection
    • Updates. Love the long term updates both in lifecycle duration and quickness of release. Definitely a major win over non Pixel Androids, regardless of manufacturer.

Anyway, I'm enjoying the phone. I'm happy with my decision.

    Apple Trade-In Towards Refurbished Phones?

    Posted: 31 May 2019 10:23 AM PDT

Hey Reddit! I'm in the process of finding a new iPhone for my brother (deciding b/w 7 and 7 Plus). Our family has several older iPhones to trade in towards this new phone, which we planned to do through Apple. I noticed however that Apple will give you less credit when trading in towards a gift card vs a new iPhone on the spot. Anywho, we were looking through Apple's refurbished store and found a great deal on a 7 Plus, which brings me to my question: will Apple give you the full trade-in value towards one of their refurbished phones, or do you have to buy a brand new phone for that promotion?

Reset my IPHONE, moved my music again, but now the music won’t play those songs.

An error pops up saying " This content is not available in your country ". I tried changing regions but didn't work.

Edit- i have an iPhone 7 running iOS 12.3.1. I used a PC and ITunes to move the music. The music isn't ITunes bought, but they worked fine before the reset.

When editing a video in the Photos app, sometimes I’ll be given an option to edit that file itself but always be given the option to save the edit as a new clip. What causes the option list to sometimes let me edit a video without making a new video file?

No trade in option when buying refurbished from Apple?

Looking at an 8+ on Apple's website. When at check out there's no option to trade in a device. Is it not allowed?
