    YouTube is pathetic for removing features the iPad comes with

    I can run videos in the background with Safari, Netflix, etc. Youtube app removes this feature because it is a feature included in their paid subscription service. So, essentially, they remove a feature that makes the iPad cool because they want your money.. also, you can just go on the YouTube website and use this feature when running YT on Safari.

    What a stupid and completely useless inconvenience. Google sucks. Rant over.

    Edit: I did not mention many other annoyances with YT iPad app such as: - No keyboard functionality (Netflix lets me pause and FFWD) - No full screen/zoomed viewing to get rid of black borders like on iPhone (also offered on Netflix app) - Constantly have to change quality to 1080p. I'm always on wifi. Why the HELL!!! would I want to watch in shit quality on my beautiful iPad screen?

    Starting Chiropractic school in a few months. I bought a 2018 iPad pro 12.9 to use in conjunction with my MacBook. I was wondering if anyone knew of any productivity apps worth checking out? I use Bear on my MacBook and though I love it for taking notes I would like something that offers a bit more support for productivity.

    Question: iPad Pro 10.5: Best setup to quickly and easily switch from keyboard/laptop mode to book/note taking mode?

    I have the iPad Pro 10.5 and I use it for EVERYTHING. I'm a grad student so I use it as a laptop and I take notes. I use it at work to take notes in meetings but to also type reports and such. I also use it to read in tablet mode but have replaced my laptop with it unless I'm doing heavy data analytics.

    Do you have a recommendations on a setup for quickly and easily switching between the two setups?

    This probably sounds stupid, but I need to be able to view images at a small size than the full screen of my 12.9 iPad pro. It was a gift from a client and I've never used an iPad before, so I'm still navigating how to use it beyond basic photo editing and web browsing.

    I do some embroidery pattern design, and I need to be able to view my patterns at smaller scales for tracing them onto fabric. Is there a way I can take an image that's in photos and pinch it to the size I need? Or is there another app I could use for this purpose?

    The iPad Pro 12.9 have an 2732 by 2048 pixels display, 2k is 2560 by 1440, why is 2k not supported on the YouTube app?

    How do developers use their iPad Pro to complement their main device for working?

    I love my iPad Pro but as an iOS developer I can't write and run code on the device (aside from Playgrounds which is sorely lacking in comparison to the Mac app), how else can the iPad be used to complement the Mac for development?

    App for text to speech & annotation?

    Is there an app that will do text to speech (a robotic voice with no intonation is fine) and can handle annotation at the same time?

    I need to proofread long text documents, so any reader that requires highlighting or can't keep track of its own place in the text is out.

    Right now I accomplish it having my laptop read while marking using Notability on my iPad. Ideally I'd like an all in one solution.

    I looked at Speechify put their EULA makes it a bad fit.

    I can't be the first person with this use case. What am I missing? 😅

    From what I can tell Paperlike is just an extremely expensive regular matte screen protector

    Every YouTube video about iPad is sponsored by this very expensive screen protector - they tout it like its some next level experience.. I have a 3.99 matte screen protector from amazon, it came with 2 sheets and a kit to install, it was easy. It looks to me to be exactly the same as paperlike, except is not £30...

    Got an iPad recently and having a few issues with Safari specifically

    I got a 2018 iPad recently. There are a few issues I am having with Safari. I find a lot of sites unusable due to ads. I am not sure if there is an adblock built in, but it doesn't seem to be fit for purpose. Also, I have been trying to save images to the iPad from Safari but it doesn't give me the option. I want to save images so they show up in my Photos app. I only get the option to send them via a message or email. Does anyone know of any workarounds for this?

    PDF Expert: How do I automatically sync files to iCloud?

    So basically, I had moved some textbooks to the iCloud folder of Documents/PDF Expert, but the files on my Mac don't reflect recent annotations I have made since. How do I make it so that it automatically syncs any changes to the file?

    The app settings says to go to iOS settings > cellular to enable automatic syncing, but I can't seem to find it.

    Also, do I need the Mac app to be able to view/annotate and have those edits be transferred to my iOS devices? Or will edits made in Preview be synced over?

    Wanting to use IPad to play music

    I am posting for my uncle as he is not the most technologically proficient.

    My Uncle purchased a USB drive with something like 1500 songs on it. He wants to connect his Ipad to his Bluetooth speakers on his back patio to listen to music.

    ​

    He purchased the USB to Lightning connector device but each time he plugs in the USB to his IPAD it defaults to looking for pictures.

    ​

    Is there a way to play that music on his ipad as he is wanting? I have spent a good amount of time looking online today but I am not an Ipad owner I have an Iphone 7 but this is pretty new to me.

    So long story short i have had both in my possession recently...i love both...i can't afford to have both and need to decide if i want to pay the extra money for the pro 11 and just live with the bigger size yet more capable device...

    I struggle with this everyday LOL. I basically have to decide by tomorrow as my return date is tomorrow...

    My main struggle is i have to love it for the next 5 years and not worry about what comes out down the road until then lol.

    I have a 12.9" 3rd Gen. 256GB IPad Pro..

    I teach and part of my workflow at times is to copy and paste diagrams, questions, grids, etc. from an existing document to a new document that I am putting together.

    I typically do this in split screen - i.e. pull a diagram from a pdf of my textbook into a document I'm creating in Notability. The way in which I do it is to take a screenshot (using the keyboard shortcut, incredibly handy), crop the screen shot, and then drag it wherever I want into the app I'm creating within. Might seem cumbersome to some; however, for me it is incredibly efficient.

    What almost always seems to happen is that if I am working for some length of time on a longer document and I do this, let's say, several times, at some point during my work the screen will go black, I will get the spinning wheel right in the middle and then the iPad screen 'flashes' and I'm back at my home screen. What perplexes me is that it's not even as if the apps fully 'close' themselves because upon opening them back up, they bring me right back to where I was - same split screen apps open together to the place in the document I was actually working on, etc. Really odd.

    It seems as though I might be making out the RAM or something like that? I'm hoping someone more in the know might have a reason as to why this is happening and whether or not there's a better way for me to do things, if it's a limitation of the device or if there's a fix...?

    Background info:

    This is a completely fresh install - set up as new iPad.

    I have very little memory taken up out of the 256GB so far.

    There is next to nothing running in the background - no PIP video, music, etc.
