Apple TV Channels HBO access via VPN or DNS?

    Posted: 13 May 2019 02:28 AM PDT

Has anyone had luck getting around the geo block on Apple TV channels?

I've tried using unlocator but it doesn't work. I've changed the DNS codes on the Apple TV directly and the router but neither works.

Differences between Apple TV 2/4 Generations

    Posted: 13 May 2019 04:03 AM PDT

    Hey Reddit,

I am considering purchasing an Apple TV and I need suggestions/opinions regarding the different generations.

My main purpose for buying one is to Airplay my shows from my iPad Pro 10.5 to my TV. I have an 8 year old TV, so I wouldn't need the 4K version.

I don't subscribe to any online streaming services or cable nor do I plan to. The only streaming I might do is sporting events from links on Reddit.

I'm pretty tech proficient, so I would be able to figure out how to jailbreak the ones that are jailbreakable if it makes it significantly better. Online research tells me the 2nd & 4th is easily jailbroken.

I see the 2nd gen on eBay for about $40 and the 4th for around $80+. I'm leaning towards the 2nd gen, is there any reason for me to get the 4th gen over the 2nd based on my usage? And I don't need 1080p since my TV doesn't support it.

    Any suggestions/advice is much appreciated.

65” LGC8 using 4K ATV. HBO Go. Game of thrones only appearing in full screen... is this in widescreen with letterbox??

    Posted: 12 May 2019 02:42 PM PDT

    Subject says it all.

I see people talking about a light double tap, but that does nothing. All my settings appear to be fine, but every episode is full screen. I'm a touch too close for this zoomed in feel and I can't seem to change it.

How can I find out how good the HD quality of content is on services? (AppleTV via iTunes, Amazon Video, Rakuten etc)

    Posted: 12 May 2019 12:53 PM PDT

I got myself a an LG C8 and watching content that pushes it to it's limit is just incredible, such as Netflix's 4K Dolby Vision TV shows. I want to start buying high quality TV shows and movies from services like Amazon Video, iTunes etc, but I'm struggling to pick which to commit to.

Example TV show: KillJoys Season 4.

I'm from the UK so the only decent way to watch this show is buy it from a streaming service. Now where should I buy it?

Amazon Video sells it in HD for £14.49. iTunes in HD is £16.99.

What is HD? is it 720p or 1080p? 4K? What about HDR or Dolby Vision? iTunes or Amazon doesn't actually tell me. So how could I find out which offers the best image quality?

Then I read stuff like this: https://forums.theregister.co.uk/forum/all/2018/09/12/apple_film_rights/

Is amazon the better option in this situation? does iTunes stand up to amazon in others that makes it worth it?

Hi! I'm using infuse pro 5.9.6 (2484) and some of my movie an tv show files' posters are not being display correctly. Any fix? I can edit metadata and choose the correct movie / tv show, but it won't update the movie poster.

[Discussion] VPN apps for tvOS 4K. Why aren’t they in the App Store?

    Posted: 12 May 2019 09:34 AM PDT

How can I get a VPN on my tvOS 4K? It's Jailbroken, and I have PIA (Private Internet Access). Is there away to either install the IPA, or Deb file, or change the DNS address to hid my IP address?

    Any help would be appreciated
