    Can Someone Confirm the Apple TV Channels HBO Scripted TV/Movie Encoded Frame Rate?

    I'm still getting occasional frame skipping with Apple TV Channels HBO Shows on my TCL 55p605. Can someone do that special thing, where you can see the frame rate of any video being streamed and check if HBO scripted shows (e.g. Barry, Game of Thrones, etc.) are encoded at 23.976fps or 24.000fps?

    New tv app does not let me control the connected apps, says I have to manage in the tv app. Then it opens a linked failed to open. Tried 4 TVs and my iPhone.

    Apple TV Channels HBO subscription - Family Sharing

    A nice feature I found with the HBO subscription through the Channels app is that it supports family sharing! This allows each member with their own Apple ID to watch HBO content without having any of the other members who share the subscription "interrupt" or "mess up" your watch sessions. They have their own individual feed and what they watch won't impact what you watch. One of the biggest gripes my family has with regular HBO NOW/GO is if a family shares a subscription, any of the family members can watch the same show but it will pick up where the last person was watching instead of giving each person their own "profile" Apple TV Channels allows this feature but uses the family sharing aspect to make each users "profile" their individual Apple ID.

    EDIT: forgot to ask, on my wife's Apple TV app. I can't connect anything at all. Could that be because all of our shared streaming services are using my email as the user name?

    I personally really dislike it. The art is less consistent (some vertical style still squeezed into horizontal) and worse composition. I thought the artist that did the vertical looked much better overall.

    The Fifth Element really makes me sad lol. Same with 2001: A Space Odyssey. Which covers did you love and now dislike and why?

    Restricting shared folders in Infuse?

    Hey guys,

    I'm not sure if this is the right subreddit to post this on, so feel free to redirect me if you think there would be a better sub to ask.

    I'm using Infuse on my ipad and trying to get file sharing set up with my Macbook pro. I set it up fine, with the one folder I want to share in the "file sharing" setting on my macbook pro enabled. The thing is, when I go into infuse and open the shared folder, it's showing a lot of other folders available for sharing even though I just have one folder enabled for file sharing on my MBP.

    If anyone knows how to limit the sharing to just that one folder I would appreciate if you could help me out.

    How do I get the Apple TV and airplay update on Samsung tv?

    I have compatible TVs, nu6900 and nu8000. I am on the update 1251, and I am in Canada. Both TVs don't have airplay or the Apple TV app anywhere. Is there something I'm supposed to do to get the app?

    I'm in the market for a new TV, and thought I had landed on the Samsung Q90. I like the "no gap" wall mount for Samsung TVs, and the "one connect" box is awesome and will save me a lot of work.

    Then I saw that it doesn't support Dolby Vision, which nearly all of my 4K iTunes movies seem to be. Will a Dolby Vision movie play in HDR if DV isn't available? Or is it an either/or situation?

    Why can I only add certain things to up next?

    Got the update this morning and I'm really liking having all my media apps in one. I've started using up next as a watchlist (is that what it's for?) but some things you just can't add to it?

    For example I can add Tokyo Ghoul but not One Punch Man? Why is this?

    Up Next isn't recognizing purchased content as being purchased

    So, I upgraded my aTV last night.

    When I try to play back Archer Seasons 1-8, it takes me directly to the iTunes store to purchase. (EDIT: This is a "Box Aet" type of thing, not the individual seasons, and I think this might be the problem. Maybe?

    OTOH, Up Next works just fine in iTunes on my desktop machine, and via the TV app on my iPhone and iPad. It's only on the aTV that it's having a problem.

    I tried rebooting the aTV, unplugged power then plugged it back in again. I'm guessing I'll have to call Apple tonight, but I wanted to see if anyone has any suggestions to try first.

    New TV app doesn’t show if a movie or show is in 4K on iTunes if it is available to stream elsewhere. This is a major oversight.

    The only reason I'd ever rent or buy something that is already on Netflix is if it on iTunes in 4K HDR, sometimes for a bigger movie it might be worth it. However, if the movie or show is on Netflix, amazon, what have you, you only see the movie listed as HD in the app. You can rent from the app, but you can't see what quality it will be in. One of the bigger oversights so far imo.

    You can still go to the iTunes movies app, search, or use Siri to find out, but that's not the point. They changed the TV to be a storefront for iTunes movies, and sullied the "find free movies to watch on all your apps" experience, the least they can do is let us know what quality the movie is in so we can make an informed decision on where to watch it.

    If you purchase a box set, then another is released, your box set will not be remembered with TV app.

    I have game of thrones box set season 1-6. Apple TV never remembers place or episode currently watching and when you click on next episode in the TV app, it just shows options to purchase even though you own it. It's a pain in the ass and something that shouldn't be happening on a premium service/device.
