How did the Battery Health increase after clean install to iOS 12.3 from 12.2? Posted: 14 May 2019 04:15 AM PDT It was at 94% on iOS 12.2 and after clean installing it to iOS 12.3 it's at 98%! I'm puzzled. Has anyone had this happen? [link] [comments]

Am I the only one who thinks searching on native apps is terrible? Posted: 14 May 2019 12:08 AM PDT I have to say, one aspect of iOS I'm really disappointed about after all these years is the search capability of native apps such as Mail and iMessage. Whilst you can search Whatsapp or GMail for an email/message from years ago within seconds and traverse through different occurrences of a search term, iMessage is honestly terrible. It may find your search term, it may not. Then when you click to go on that message, it sometimes takes you to that message, it sometimes just goes to the last message of that thread. The same applies with the Mail app. It takes forever for search results to appear. It may find your search term. It may not. Coincidentally, this is the same online with iCloud. Whereas the GMail app is instantaneous. Is there any reason for search to be so bad after so many years which I'm missing? It's been terrible since the beginning of iOS [link] [comments]

Deleting local contacts group? Posted: 14 May 2019 08:38 AM PDT I have a few clients on Exchange who have managed to create a local contacts group on their iPhone. It creates issues as the default contact folder changes and contacts end up getting created on this local account by mistake. Is there a way of deleting this group? Thanks in advance- [link] [comments]

How Do I Remove Invasive Google Apps Data Without Resetting the iPhone or iPad? Posted: 13 May 2019 06:58 PM PDT I have a couple of iOS devices. On an iPad I recently discovered that when you have any Google app installed, in this case YouTube, and you're signed in, that information is retained by both Google and iOS. The only way to get rid of it to reset (erase everything) the phone. YouTube left crumbs behind, and iOS doesn't care. I erased the app by going to settings > general > storage > YouTube > Delete App. This method promised that it would erase all app data. Upon re-installing YouTube, opening the app signed into the same account I was using earlier. This is beyond rude and creepy. Does anyone know how to properly erase the app and its data without resetting the phone? [link] [comments]

Need some guidance writing an app for my project Posted: 14 May 2019 12:32 AM PDT Hey, everyone So this semester we have to do some small projects and I chose a bluetooth speaker. Issue is, my phone is an iPhone, so I'm going to need to write a small app which can send some information to my HC-05 module. I want to create something simple, with a few buttons such as "Play", "Stop", "Next song" etc. I have never done anything like this, so where can I start? And how can I send whatever I need over bluetooth? I only have Fedora and Windows on my laptop, so I'm not sure where I'll be able to develop this either, any tips? :D Thank you! Posted: 13 May 2019 08:02 PM PDT I watch a lot of my own shows on my phone and the 12.2 TV App shows a little circle check when you watched an episode. This new update doesn't seem to do that. Am I missing something or did they just remove that altogether? [link] [comments]
Can I forward calls without having FaceTime installed? Posted: 13 May 2019 07:22 PM PDT I recently swapped my company iPhone 6S for a 7, and the new phone seems to be more tightly locked down. I used to be able to install third-party apps, for example. If the loss of the use of Shortcuts wasn't devastating enough, I have another problem. I set up call forwarding and text forwarding on my old phone, because I'm not glued to my work phone, yet it always behooved me to be alerted to a message or call from a client, often being a cancellation. Before doing this, it was much more common for me to be ready to head out the door only to see that my client had cancelled and that I would be at home for a while longer. There are other reasons why this is desirable to me, mainly because doing so would let me use an old iPhone of mine as a 'fake work phone' to still use my Shortcuts and things. However, the new work phone will not allow me to install apps at all, and FaceTime is not installed. Because of this, system preferences will not allow me to forward calls. I can still forward text messages, but it's very frustrating being able to come so close yet still not be able to reliably forward texts AND calls to my other device I want to use. So, does anybody know of a way to either enable call forwarding without FaceTime installed, OR any clever ways to relay some method of notification to a different phone without installing any third-party apps? Posted: 13 May 2019 04:55 PM PDT Is there any way to spoof location throughout the whole phone (maps, snapchat, and all applications that use location)? I can do it with Xcode and other programs on the computer but fail to find any way to do it without a computer? I am on 12.2 (so no I'm not jailbroken) [link] [comments]
Posted: 13 May 2019 03:48 PM PDT Does anybody know of a camera app that will keep the photos it takes separate from the stock photo library / camera roll? I use my phone a LOT for work and I've got a ton of photos in my photo library that are work related. I just want to have a place that they're automatically stored in without me having to manually move them to a folder or something. [link] [comments] |
