    Just bought brand new 13" Macbook Pro 2018. Upon the initial startup this logo appeared once for 3 seconds. Cannot reproduce again. What is it?

    Yeah it turns on from a shutdown but after the loading meter reaches about 80% it shuts down and presents a black screen. I don't know what is the issue. I haven't used it in a month and it's a family computer.

    Does anyone here know what's wrong?

    How many different iPhones can I back up in iCloud? Also Whatsapp.

    I currently have an iPone 6s and I'm planning on buying an iPhone 8. I will be using both phones at once - one will have my US SIM and the other my European SIM.

    1. Will I be able to manage both iPhones in iTunes? Meaning, will I be able to backup them up as two different iPhones?

    2. What about iCloud, namely Whatsapp? Will I be able to backup my Whatsapp messages from both iPhones separately? Or do I need two iCloud accounts?

    A problem with my AirPods case

    so a couple of days ago I bought some 2nd gen airpods with the regular charging case and today I annoyingly dropped the case with the airpods in it, the airpods are fine but the light on the case randomly went amber/red only when the airpods were in the case. Yet when I take both airpods out the case it turned to green. and now all of sudden it has turned back to green. Should I be worried or concerned.

    Is it possible to use my 30w charger to charge my kindle?

    Hello,

    I am planning a trip next month and since we'll be walking a lot, I am trying to optimize what I bring.

    I planned on bringing only my 30w charger and a few cables for my electronics and the only non usb c / lightning device I have is my 7th gen paperwhite kindle (micro USB, 5V 500mA).

    If I buy a cable like the one below, can I use this charger to charge it safely?

    Sorry if it sounds like an obvious question, but I haven't done yet much mix and match between USB C and the older standards.

    iMac wakes up randomly and displays inverted colours

    I notice that my late-2015 27" iMac "wakes up" randomly and displays inverted colours on the screen. It seems like it is in sleep mode when it "wakes up" because the screen turns black and back on, normal colours starts displaying again when I move my mouse. I'm not able to figure out why it "wakes up" and why the colours are inverted. Has this ever happened to any of you?

    Classroom for MacOS (and monitoring MacOS)?

    So I teach at a school where students have Macbooks or iPads, depending on their year level. Teachers have both Macbooks and iPads.

    I have previously used Classroom with student iPads and am aware that it can now be used with student Macbooks, in theory.

    However, my students' Macbooks can't join my Classroom. Apple's help page (https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/classroom/class-set-up-for-teacher-created-classes-cla540cff601/2.0/mac/10.14) says that students should see a Classroom option in System Preferences when there's a nearby Classroom they can join. This doesn't appear on student Macbooks.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

    Purchased a brand new iPhone 6 S recently & the rear camera has suddenly stopped working — displays only a black screen now.

    Late last year (December) my dads Samsung S 3 he's had for years finally started to take a dump on him. I bought him a new iPhone 6s from Walmart and gave it to him. He's been using it for just over 3 months now and today he showed me that his camera has stopped working. The phone is in pristine condition as it has never been dropped and had an otter box defender case protecting it from day one. It's safe to say that the camera wasn't broken. Any suggestions or similar experiences encountered by anyone else here?

    Question about upgrading RAM

    I have a mid-2012 MacBook Pro that I bought new with 4GB of RAM. About a year after I bought it, I purchased 16GB of RAM and replaced the 4GB. Earlier this year (after about 5 years of using the new RAM with no issues), I began having some weird and pervasive pixelation. After trying a bunch of other stuff with no success, I put the original RAM back in and voila, no more weird pixelation. But now my computer runs incredibly slow. Opening a browser takes a bit of time, netflix buffers and even just opening About My Mac takes a good 15 seconds. This is with only about 1 or 2 apps running. I'm considering purchasing a new set of RAM with more memory, but I wanted to get an opinion on a few things before I do. 1) Is it likely that the reason my computer is running this slowly is because of the amount of RAM? Or should 4GB of RAM be enough for this type of limited use? And 2) Is the pixelation problem likely to reoccur with new RAM, or is it likely that the 16GB of RAM I used for the past 5 years just somehow became damaged or something, and it was that fact—and not that I wasn't using the original 4 GB RAM—that caused the pixelation?

    I was on the iTunes client on my PC and tried to delete 3 albums. Don't know what happened but I guess I accidentally deleted everything in my library.

    My iTunes client is blank, my phone is blank.

    Any way I can get my library back?

    2012 Macbook Pro display won’t work

    Hoping someone might have some insight into what has happened to my laptop:

    Yesterday I was watching a basketball stream, when my 2012 Macbook Pro (Retina 15") froze. This happens every few months, and usually a force restart works without issue. This time, when I went to boot it back up, the startup chime happened but then the screen remained black. I have tried resetting the SMC, the PRAM, and I have tried booting into safe mode, none of which worked. When I attempt to attach an external display, there is a no signal message (tried multiple displays and cords). I am still able to log in to the computer since the keyboard and volume buttons work, and can still play Spotify using my phone as the controller.

    Last night I decided to play Spotify all night on it in an attempt to drain the battery, and this morning when I tried to boot it back up, the dead battery icon displayed on the screen. This tells me that the screen must still be functional, but I am completely lost as to why it won't display anything and that the external monitor won't work.

    I have no idea what is possibly going wrong with it, but it does have a very high cycle count battery (1300+) that only works for a short amount of time when not connected to MagSafe.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Planning to Upgrade My Dad's Phone (Details Inside)

    My dad has an iPhone 4s and I think it's time for him to get a new phone so I'm planning to get him an iPhone 8 for his birthday in July.

    My dad can't stand change, so I want to make sure that the new phone has the same setup as the old one, so what's the optimal way to transfer data from the old phone to the new one given the fact that his phone never been connected to iTunes. I'm an Android user myself, so I'm not really familiar with Apple's system and whatnot.

    Like I know that messages are encrypted end to end, and that apple is a privacy-minded company but that being said... let's say I'm sitting at a coffee shop typing up some company info into Pages on my phone. Can someone on the coffee shop network bust in and read it? or what about the coffee shop itself as I transmit it to icloud?

    I can find info on icloud in general but nothing that states anything about Pages in iCloud specifically.

    My MacBook just made a shutter/camera sound on it's own

    I'm on my macbook in bed, and I shifted a bit to my side, and it made the camera/screenshot sound. But no screenshot was made.

    I definitely didn't hit the three buttons necessary for a screenshot as I was moving my computer.

    I'm kinda paranoid now. Can I figure out what caused this?

    edit: should mention I had airpods in that I removed, put in the case and set aside before I moved my computer. I had taken a screenshot earlier, but like 10 minutes before this occurred. And I heard the shutter sound through my laptop.

    Best way to format my iMac before selling it to ensure no data recovery.

    I found a website that shows how to format my mac but I read somewhere that there is a way to 'zero-fill' the hard drive such that no one can data recover anything.

    I also heard that this can be done natively on the iMac by changing the file system or something on the Disk Utility application.

    So, is there a way to do this natively? Is there a way to do this at all? Is a normal format good enough?

    I'm running MacOS High Sierra version 10.13.6

    Missing calls because no notification on iPhone X?

    I think there might be a setting that is wrong but by goodness I can't find it.

    Whenever someone calls me (FaceTime, WhatsApp, cellular) the screen lights up for a second and I see the green calling icon in the left corner of the nodge. Or the screen is dark.

    When opening my phone afterwards, I do see missed calls.

    Does anyone know which setting is wrong right now?

    Extracting Photos with Broken Screen?

    Hello everyone, unfortunately, my screen on my iPhone broke the other day. I took it into the Apple store because I really want to get all of my photos off of it, but they said that there was no hope. It is an iPhone SE, I have never backed it up, and I have never plugged it into a computer. It still works, like it vibrates when I pug it in and Find My iPhone still works, but the screen is broken. The Apple Store said that if they replace the screen, they have to put it through a calibrator, and because I have an old phone, there is a good chance it would need to do a factory reset.

    Is there any way I could get my photos off of the phone?

    Edit: I do have iCloud, but the storage filled up a year and a half ago. I have deleted a lot of stuff, but photos from my iPhone are not automatically uploading and I don't know how to make them.

    USB Keyboard suddenly stopped working, using the USB extension fixes it... why?

    My Apple USB keyboard was working fine yesterday, but this morning it was "dead". After a bit of Googling, I found this thread which suggested to use the USB extension cable. I thought, "that's ridiculous, why would using the extension cable fix it?" but I had nothing to lose so gave it a shot. Low and behold it works... why though??

    Cannot send messages to iPhone and iPad on another country and when that happens facetime person is in red.

    I have this annoying problem. I send messages to an iPhone and iPad that are on another country. Most of the time, messages won't arrive. I receive no error. Messages simply do not arrive. They stay on my message window and I receive no receipt of delivery. It is like their devices there are clogged.

    Suddenly, it unclogs and the messages arrive or not. Sometimes this unclog things does not happen and messages still not arrive.

    I have tried everything. I have asked the other persons to do factory reset of their devices and followed every procedure on Apple support page. Nothing.

    Any ideas?

    Any recommendations for a USB-C hub with giga-ether? MBP 15" 2018

    So far I've gone through 3 of these, but I can't seem to find one that won't drop my 2 plugged in USBC drives.

    1. Plug into usbc port
    2. pop in giga-ether
    3. plug in 2 drives
    4. drives start failing mount or stop reading

    Do they need power via the usb charge port too? Ugh this switch from 2015 mbp is frustrating...

    I can successfully make a webloc via dragging and dropping on desktop from safari for that link.

    I can successfully make a webloc via dragging and dropping on desktop from FireFox and Chrome for 99% of OTHER links.

    Can I make a webloc via other methods aside from dragging and dropping?

    Any ideas for fixes?
