Posted: 04 May 2019 10:01 AM PDT The App / Site are 100% free, and have zero ads. Website | App Store | Screenshots Hi r/Apple I'm just a guy who had a lot of issues trying to go out to eat with friends while staying within my macro guidelines I had set for myself. A lot of time wasted browsing through restaurant website searching for a nutritional pdf, and then trying to navigate that on my phone and find something that worked for me. When I first created this a few years back, I was mostly concerned with calories, so the initial release was just a simple web app that only showed calories. Reddit showed it a lot of love, and had a lot of requested for features which lead to me growing it from only a site that showed calories to an app that allowed for much more. For those who may not be tracking their macros down to a number, you can use some of our lifestyle options like Low Calorie to help with your Journey. We also have Keto, Vegetarian, and many more to come. Hope some of you find it useful! [link] [comments] |

I created a free app to help people who have neck pain caused by poor phone-usage posture! Posted: 04 May 2019 03:08 PM PDT Hi r/apple! I'm just a regular guy who often finds himself dealing with neck and upper back pain. It turns out, this is mostly caused by the poor posture I have while using my phone. Like most people, by default, I hold my phone around waist height and bend my neck down to look at my screen. Turns out, that does some pretty serious damage to your neck and upper back over time (yikes!). Despite being told by my chiropractor about how to correct my posture, I found it super difficult to break my bad habits. So I developed Proneckt (think "protect" + "neck" ), an app that sends you notifications when it detects that you're using your phone with poor posture! How it works: The first time you open the app, you will be prompted to do calibrate Proneckt to recognize the bad posture that you wish to correct. After you're done with the initial tutorial, all you have to do is close the app and leave it running in the background. Proneckt will then periodically check your posture (you can customize the interval) and every time you start holding your phone with "bad posture", Proneckt will send you a reminder! I hope that some of you find Proneckt to be useful! Please leave any feedback in the comments or PM me; I plan to continue updating it with better UI and new features regularly. Also, please PM me if you love the app and would like a promo code to get the premium feature for free! FAQ Q: Proneckt asks for permission to have "always" access to my location data! Why? A: First of all, to ease any fears you may have, your data is stored only locally on your phone and never leaves your phone. No one but you will ever get to see your data. Your privacy is of utmost importance to me. I'm just a guy who wants to help out others who suffer from neck pain. I don't work for a company that seeks to profit from your data (the entire app was built solely by me during my own free time a super busy student). The location data is used purely for the map data visualization feature in the app. In the app, you can tap on the map tab and view all of the locations you had bad posture throughout the day. The location might be slightly off due to the accuracy being at the lowest setting (to minimize Proneckt's battery footprint). Q: Other apps that use location services drain my battery like crazy when they run in the background! (Think any navigation app) Will Proneckt be just like those? A: Fortunately, no! Proneckt doesn't use super-precise location tracking like any navigation/GPS apps. In fact, I specifically designed the app with battery usage in mind. The required location accuracy is set to the minimum so that it uses as little battery as possible. From my personal testing on several different iPhones, it only uses an additional ~1% of my battery per hour! (YMMV depending on how old your battery is. The devices I tested all supported peak battery performance). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 May 2019 04:30 PM PDT Hey guys, I released this app last week and I wanted to post it here to get some feedback. I basically made the weather app I always wanted. Some reasons I think it is special are:
I am glad I am allowed to post this here on "Self Promo Saturday" because I'm really excited about sharing this app with the community and getting some feedback. Posted: 04 May 2019 07:30 AM PDT Hello r/Apple! š I'm an iOS developer and a gym enthusiast, and for the last year I have been working on an app to track your gym sessions. The reason I started this project is that after years of trying out different gym apps I couldn't find one that I really loved. Especially for Apple Watch, which I think is the perfect device for this, I haven't seen an app that really nails the UI for tracking sets and reps. I think Liftin' can offer something new and different here. Features
The app is also integrated with Apple Health so if you use the watch app your workouts counts towards your daily activity goals. Liftin' has a native look and feel, the design is mostly inspired by apps made by Apple. I want it to feel right at home on iOS. Business modelLiftin' is a premium app, but is free to try. All features are available in the free version so you can try it out, but the number of workouts you can track is limited to five per month. To use the full app without limitations is $4.99 for the first year, and then $14.99 per year. I know many of you are not fans of recurring costs for apps, but for the quality and longevity of the app I think this is the way to go. I plan to work on Liftin' for years to come and keep adding features and improvements, and I will always prioritize my long term users. What's newIn version 1.0.0 have added two new features that many beta testers have been asking for: If you don't want to specify the number of reps for an exercise, but instead input any number during workout, you can now do that. Just select "free reps" in the reps picker when you setup your exercise. You can also see the rep count from your previous try so you can try to beat that. What's nextI have got great feedback during the beta period, and I will implement many of your requested features. Over the next few months I will work on these new features:
If you have ideas that you would like to see in Liftin', let me know! Use the feedback button in the app, or just send a mail to feedback@liftinapp.co. You can follow Liftin' on Twitter @liftinapp and like on Facebook. You can also follow me on Twitter @_nstrm A big thanks to this sub and all the people who have been beta testing for the last few months, you have been super nice and super helpful! If you like Liftin' please rate it in the App Store and tell your friends about it, I appreciate all the help I can get to reach more lifters out there. I am looking forward your feedback! š [link] [comments] |

PSA: Have trouble updating your iPhone? Your smart battery case might be the problem. Posted: 04 May 2019 12:14 PM PDT TLDR: If you are having trouble updating your iPhone and you have a smart case attached, try taking the case off. So I tried to update my iPhone 10s Max to iOS 12.2 this morning, through iTunes on my Macbook Pro, and the update failed at the "verifying update with apple" step. I then get a window in iTunes saying that there is a problem with the iPhone that requires it to be updated or restored. I notice my phone is now permanently on with the connect to iTunes logo. At this point I try to update the phone again and it fails, showing me Error (9) in iTunes. I then tried to troubleshoot by restarting my phone, updating my laptop, and even changing to a different usb port, all ending in the same error message. Now seeing no other option but to restore the phone I try that option, but it also ends in the same error. On a hunch I think to myself what if the smart case is making some sort of interference. I take the case off and attempt the update again, which works as intended. [link] [comments] |
A social media app for investors and traders Posted: 04 May 2019 01:31 PM PDT Sign up and screenshot here: http://www.tickershare.com Hey, we noticed how people love talking about stocks and the markets in general so we decided to build a social platform where investors can share ideas on particular stocks and market. This will be a legitimate platform where investors and traders ( people like you and me) can create a audience (a following) just like instagram, youtube. The app is beautiful and simple to use. You can follow and share ideas like twitter with a character limit (which is not 100% decided yet). The app will also have features rolled out slowly such as trending market news and ideas, trending users, market sentiment etc. , this is where you guys come in and help us out, if you have any features you want to see let me know. We are currently accepting sign ups for early access and set to launch private beta this summer. As development continues we will share more screenshots and videos leading up the launch. Posted: 04 May 2019 04:48 PM PDT I remember first when apple maps was newly released a lot of people were complaining that it was glitchy and worse than the competitor, google maps. I've been using google maps since as far back as I can remember and want to know if apple maps is finally the best gps system for driving. Please share your experiences! [link] [comments] |
Posted: 04 May 2019 06:44 AM PDT Screenshots: https://imgur.com/a/FulDmDA TestFlight Beta: https://testflight.apple.com/join/VPfB0dnA Hi Everyone! I am a personal trainer trying to make fitness a little more accessible to the world so I have created my first app, Workout Bible! I have been working on it the last 2-3 months and would love some feedback. My goal with Workout Bible is to create an easy way for people to find new exercises for their workouts with video and written instruction. A lot of apps I have used in the past have very complicated UI/UX. If someone's goal is just to find new exercises quickly they can try it can be very cumbersome. I wanted to create an app that is quick & easy to navigate with no unnecessary features getting in the way. I have completed the initial MVP where all 1.0 features are complete! - Detailed written and verbal instructions - HD video demonstrations - Save your favorite exercises so you quickly access them when you get to the gym - A wide variety of workouts for all levels of experience: Beginner, Intermediate, & Advanced - Featuring all your favorite muscle groups: Abs, Back, Biceps, Chest, Glutes/Butt, Legs, Shoulders, Triceps - Featuring your favorite exercise equipment: Barbell, Cable, Dumbbell, E-Z Curl Bar, Kettlebell, Machine, Medicine Ball, Full Body, & more I currently have placeholder videos in the app so I can test functionality - my goal is to film my own instructional videos and implement them in to the app and to add more exercises to fill out the database. Any and all feedback about the design, features, anything is welcome! Thank you! - Corey from Workout Bible [link] [comments] |
Best way to order Powerbeats Pro right now? Posted: 04 May 2019 10:55 AM PDT I was a little late to the preorder party, and now every B&M store and online shop says June 20 at the earliest. I don't want to wait that long. Any advice? I am hoping to just do an early morning at my local Apple store (cleveland) but even the store says June 20. [link] [comments] |
