iPad Pro has become truly amazing. I made this in 2.5 hours using Procreate and LumaFusion. It's not even close to a replacement for my Mac, but color me surprised.

Because I am a European citizen living in the UK, I got this email yesterday from the UK government. They have rolled out an "EU settlement scheme" and part of the application process is using an Android app that reads your passport's chip. The email said that by the end of the year, this will be possible in Apple devices too. I thought it was interesting.

How Apple’s iPhone development cycle works

Why is discussions.apple.com the shittiest go-to for help/issues and why does it never contain a straight forward answer?

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 08:15 AM PDT

I can't be the only one noticing the lameness in this support forum each time I google for an issue. None of my Mac issues ever got fixed there. They're essentially always asking you to perform standard routine tasks (reboot, shutdown etc), and if that doesn't fix it, then it "shouldn't be like that".

This is coming from "apple-gurus" with over 11k posts.

I've always gotten more help from macrumors and the other Mac forums. So, what brings low quality answers to the official support forum?

TIL You can revert a document back to a previous save

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 08:31 AM PDT

I knew you could do it using Time Machine, but I was exporting a Pages document to a PDF when I saw the Revert To option above the Export option. I went in there and all the previously saved versions of the document were there in a similar view to what Time Machine shows you. Is this just Time Machine embedded into Pages or a feature of iWork etc. separate to Pages?

I wonder why it took me almost 5 years to find this.

iWork's usefulness just went up a little more

    Apple News Plus refresh frequency

    Posted: 01 Apr 2019 09:02 AM PDT

Are articles published piecemeal throughout the day on publishers' websites (LA Times or WSJ for example) available to Apple News Plus customers immediately, or are they only added to Apple's service if/after they appear in the physical paper editions of these publications? In other words, if the Wall Street Journal breaks a story in an article that goes live on WSJ.com at 2PM Monday, do Apple News Plus customers have to wait until publishing time Tuesday to read it?
