Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:43 AM PST After saving for the past four months, today I go to pick up my very first iPad Pro. Biggest purchase I've ever saved for and made myself. Feeling like I want to scream screams of joy. What a beautiful day. Hope you can feel my joy, too. [link] [comments]
Does someone know any good ergonomic stands for the ipad? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 03:01 AM PST So I use my iPad for taking notes from my textbooks but I find myself hunching over it when I am sitting at my desk and after some hours of sitting like it gets quite uncomfortable. What I am looking for is a stand to raise the iPad (portrait mode) so I can sit more ergonomically (example position). The ideal stand would be adjustable and stable with protection so no damage occurs on the iPad. Also I have seen some that clamps down on the sides on the iPad and I don't like that so none of them. To summarize, I am looking for an adjustable drawing/writing stand/table (sort of like those that architects use, but that I can place on my desk). Sorry for formatting and grammar/spelling mistakes. I am not an native speaker of english. [link] [comments]

Posted: 06 Feb 2019 05:24 AM PST I just returned to the iPad world after ditching my Gen1 years ago. I'm glad I came back! I love this thing. It's become a little bit of an obsession in fact. I work as a police officer and want to use this device at work as it is portable, lightweight, and has a camera. Anyone know of any useful apps? My current set up: For typical office work (memos, proposals, etc) - iWork suite - MS Office - Google Docs, Sheets, etc For supervision from patrol perspective - Magicplan (great for mapping crime scenes) - Notes (got rid of my paper notebook) - Camera app - PowerDMS (great app-has our policies, investigative guides, etc on it) For meetings - One Note - Evernote For storage - One Drive - Dropbox - Google drive [link] [comments]

Mobile Safari sucks on 11-inch iPad Pro Posted: 06 Feb 2019 07:24 AM PST Has anyone else had problems with Mobile Safari? I was just at the Brydge site and tried to submit a web form, and nothing happened. Asking for the desktop version of the site did nothing. This is not the first time I've had problems with web forms in Mobile Safari. I've had to go back to my iMac multiple times because sites just didn't work right. It's all very frustrating as this is supposed to be a "pro" device but it ships with a messed up browser that is not as reliable as the desktop version. [link] [comments]
Completely Mute Sounds (iPad Pro 2018) Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:40 AM PST Hello! I'm working hard to learn iOS having been an Android/Linux/Windows users for my whole life. I'm sure that there is a setting somewhere to do what I want &I could really use some directions to try to find it. I've turned my volume all the way down but that doesn't stop the on-screen keyboard from clicking away (even with the volume muted) or the App Store giving me a confirmation "ding!" after downloading an app. There has to be a way to get iOS to be completely silent. I was using it at the doctor's office today and the sounds were definitely a problem. Any ideas? One last thing. I thought I read somewhere that one could change the settings required to "confirm" an App Store purchase etc. Is this correct or did I misunderstand what I read? Thanks so much in advance! :) [link] [comments]
Photo editing and getting a screen protector? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 01:49 PM PST There seems to be some disagreement about using a screen protector with the new iPad Pros, and it also seems like a lot of people are opting for matte protectors that alter the quality of the screen to some degree. My wife and I bought the new 12.9in mostly as an upgrade to her previous photo-editing workhorse, an 8 year old MacBook (we have a mix of regular laptops of various processing power for things the iPad is weak at). I also picked up the new Otterbox Symmetry 360 case, and I will be getting the pencil 2 in a week or so. I typically put one on my phone because it goes in my pocket--although, tbh, my iPhone X from a year ago has held up really nicely without a screen protector, a couple imperceptibly light scratches, otherwise fine. Are there screen protectors worth putting on the iPad Pro that won't muck up the pencil sensitivity and won't alter the color gamut and image clarity for photo editing? Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 06 Feb 2019 01:44 PM PST Has anyone had any issues returning/exchanging their bent models? I've had mixed luck with Verizon, but they have great cell-coverage and other providers have their own issues... so I'm kinda stuck with them. I dont think it's acceptable to pay $1500 for anything less than a perfect piece of hardware, and I dont want to have to argue with Verizon to avoid restocking fees and other such troubles. Tried posting this earlier, but I'm not sure I followed through properly. [link] [comments]
Do you still use an iPad for content consumption in 2019 Posted: 06 Feb 2019 11:28 AM PST Hello, How are you? I am wondering about this. If in 2019, with today's big screen phones, if you still find yourself using an iPad just for content consumption. I have an iPad Air 2 and an iPhone 7. I don't do any kind of productivity or content creation on either device. They are both only for consumption and I have the same apps installed on both devices. I mainly use them for tapatalk, Reddit, web browsing with safari, emails and some youtube. The iPhone 7 is small for current standards with the 4.7 inch screen. So I tend to use the iPad at home on the couch to browse the web. Most forums I usually do on the iPhone since o find thumb typing more comfortable. So I was thinking about selling both devices and use the resulting funds to get a new big screen iPhone. I just don't know if I would end up missing the iPad terribly. I currently use it about one hour a day, but like I said, just like a bigger screen iPhone as I don't even use any tablet specific apps. What are your thoughts and experiences? Thanks for sharing. Cheers! [link] [comments]

Does the 11” wifi iPad Pro bend? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 02:21 PM PST Really wanted to buy an iPad Pro until all of this bending issues.. I don't want a device that'll bend after few days or ever, not to say come bent from the box... Is it safe for me to get the wifi model, 11" iPad Pro? Heard the bending has something to do with the cellular antennas or something [link] [comments]
Anyone else annoyed by the implementation of Face ID on the new iPad Pros? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 12:41 PM PST I love Face ID. For the most part, it works when I need it. Its implementation is great for the phone, cause one is usually holding the phone pointing it right at their face. But as someone who uses the Apple Pencil a lot, and for someone who has the iPad Pro normally lying flat on my desk, I have to use the passcode. This is even with the Attention feature off. Or, I could look like an idiot and pick my head up directly over the flat iPad. Does anyone else have this issue? [link] [comments]
How easy is it to replace your MacBook with an iPad Pro? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 11:08 PM PST Edit: How have you adapted your workflows to suit iPad Pro from MacBook/Mac? Was it an easy transition? Do you use them differently? [link] [comments]
Looking for an efficient way to read-annotate-sync PDFs (I've a very specific workflow). Posted: 05 Feb 2019 05:36 PM PST Hi people. I'm a PhD student. I like to make my life and daily tasks as productive and waste-less as possible. One of my regular tasks is to read PDFs (class notes/research papers). I keep all these (and more) files organized in Google Drive in different folders. To be able to read on the go, I recently bought an iPad. I haven't been able to find any app/mechanism till now that would allow me to do the following:
I have tried Foxit mobile reader, Xodo, Apple Notes and OneNote. Nothing works the way I want it to work. Looking for suggestions to help me achieve this. Thanks. [link] [comments]
How to Transfer photos from Camera (SD or microSD Card) to iPad? Posted: 06 Feb 2019 10:05 AM PST How can I transfer photos from sd or micro sd card to ipad? Not only to view, but to import to the ipad. thanks! [link] [comments]
New IPad 6th gen 128gb owner with some questions.. Posted: 05 Feb 2019 06:58 PM PST first of all, after my initial shock of lack of customization but amazing optimization from a lifetime android user, I am very happy with my purchase! few questions I couldn't find an exact answer to though. I am almost completely new to ios (1st gen ipod touch owner here), so be warned. 1)if I buy the 1st gen apple pencil, does this ipad do the whole turn your writing into editable text for word documents? 2) is there a "back" button or gesture when you're in an app? I feel dumb as hell but I'm having quite the time trying to get back to the last page of an app without constantly searching for an arrow somewhere in the app itself. 3) is there an esiaer way to sort my apps than just holding and dragging around? are the apps only on the main screen. no app drawer? it's not a big deal just wondering. 4)is the best way to get files from my laptop to the iPad to use butt storage like Dropbox and onedrive, etc? 5) Should I be weary of buying a used 1st gen Apple Pencil? Any reason not to? Thank you! [link] [comments]
Posted: 05 Feb 2019 03:52 PM PST Wondering if anyone has any app recommendations for playing videos not purchased through Apple? I usually download my lectures onto my laptop and iPad to take notes (instead of watching over wifi) but don't like having to use Photos on my iPad because I can't get picture in picture mode, making it difficult to take notes on GoodNotes 5. For reference I am in Australia, and would prefer not having to pay for an app (love that student budget!) If I'm missing something and can have PiP mode when in Photos, my ears are wide open! Afterthought; am I able to transfer downloaded videos into iTunes and use the Apple TV app to use PiP? [link] [comments]
iPad Pro 2018 - What are the drawing limitations? When does it lag? Posted: 05 Feb 2019 03:48 PM PST I travel a lot for work and have recently started taking up drawing. It can be a hassle to lug around my sketchbooks, laptop, drawing tablet, etc. I know an iPad won't make me a better artist, but I believe it will get me drawing more often because it is more convenient. I'm wondering what the painting limitations are for the iPad Pro. In particular with programs like Procreate. At what point of detail and layers does it really start to bog down? Edit: Is the bending "issue" just exaggeration? [link] [comments] |
