    WARNING! Regarding Sony Cameras and the iPad Pro

    I use a Sony A7iii for all my image and video capturing and I've tried so many variations for using this camera for editing on the iPad. I've come across a few issues which I should let you know about.

    Either the file structure that Sony writes too, or the Sony SD XC ii cards Sony use are not compatible with iPad's out the gate. I have tried various USB-C / USB SD card readers, most recently today my Hyper USB-C hub arrived and it does not load any import options (but does recognize the plugging in of the SD card)

    There is a solution however, by using a USB-C cable and transferring direct from camera ousing the MTP method and charging via usb turned off. This only works with small video files and photos, anything over 4.6gb will fail, also transfer speeds are incredibly slow.

    This seems to be an issue only with Sony cameras as my drone transfers quickly and works first time everytime.

    ​

    The only solution i've found is to use a third party computer/laptop and transfer the files over wifi

    How many of you enjoy typing on the Smart Keyboard / Smart Keyboard Folio more than the newer MacBook Keyboards?

    I have used both and I find the feel of the iPad Pro Smart Keyboard Folio a little weird at first but after typing on it for a few months I can say that I am starting to enjoy this more than the newer (2016 and later) MacBook Pro keyboards. It also has the added benefit of not failing from dust getting trapped underneath the keys. Does anyone else share this sentiment?

    Apple really ruined the laptop lineup IMO and after owning both a nTB rMBP and a 2018 iPad Pro, I can say as a portable alongside my desktop Mac, I enjoy the iPad Pro much more.

    iPad Pro and MIDI/USB?

    I have an iPad Pro 12.9 second generation and I recently acquired an Alesis Recital 88 key digital piano to learn how to play on. It has a USB/MIDI interface on it. My question is can I use a lightning to USB adapter to connect them, and if I can is there iOS software that can support it like GarageBand or other third party software? Or do I need additional equipment?

    I currently have a Galaxy S7 Edge and had thought about switching to an iPhone as my next phone since I'm really glued to my iPad and very much prefer the MacOS. I thought the convenience and being in one ecosystem would really keep my workflow and files so much more in line and readily available.

    But then Samsung S10+ got announced and it looks like a dream phone and I'm now more set on getting it instead. So I wanna know how you keep your Android and iPad/Mac experience less fragmented? Do you just rely on Google's productivity programs? What about photos? How do you keep the transition from using your phone to your tablet more seamless?

    High school teachers with iPads, do you also use or carry a laptop?

    I'm curious as to what your routines are; what do you use the iPad for versus a laptop?

    I'm a junior in college going into student teaching next year in a high school English classroom, and I use my iPad for note taking, reading, and all my work except for some papers when I need a lot of sources open. However, I also have a 2016 MacBook Pro and feel that having both are over kill. The MacBook is used maybe once every few weeks. I'm trying to get an idea for what might work best for me, what I will and won't need, and if it's even worth having both. Thanks for your insight!

    I would like to use my iPad to host a Newly Wed Game style event at my house - Any ideas on how to do this?

    I'm looking for advice on this. I'm hosting a Newly Wed Game type of event at my house for my friends. I have an audience soundboard for applause "aaww"ing when people get questions wrong, etc. I'm dressing like an obnoxious gameshow host. I want to up the ante by using my iPad or iPhone to display the questions and keep score on my TV. I already know how to cast to the TV, but do you have any ideas on what kind of apps I would need to use to present/display questions or keep a running scoreboard? Any tips, help, or ideas would be appreciated thanks.

    iPad Collage Apps with Zoom option

    I'm trying to put together some collages where some pictures are too zoomed in to fit everything in the frame. I've tried a few different free apps and none of them allow you to zoom out on your images. All I can adjust is the position to choose what gets cropped out.

    Isn’t apple care + a rip off? You have to get it within 60 days and it’s 2yrs but you already have 1yr warranty so you’re using both warranties at the same time

    Hi, I'm a high school student who's main device is an iPad 9.7, which I have the Logitech keyboard, and Apple Pencil. Are there any tips you guys have? I work out of the GSuite, and really enjoy it, as I like to work on a Windows PC usually when I'm at home (my school doesn't let me have access to Windows laptops due to my knowledge of how to hack into basic things) so I need to be constantly cloud connected.
