Help me decipher Duet Display pricing. What can I actually expect to pay? Research included Posted: 21 Feb 2019 08:55 AM PST Hi to an amazing community! You guys have really inspired my workflow for the last 18 months, so shout out to you guys. I think I've figured out the pricing, but I'm not 100% sure. See the bottom of this post for my "Conclusion" and please correct me if I'm wrong. That said, here's my research and what I've found:
Text: Duet is one of the most powerful productivity tools in the App Store and has the potential to help you create far more efficiently. Duet's regular price is a one time cost of $19.99, this lets you download the app to all of your iOS devices synced to the same Apple ID. You are free to install Duet on as many Macs and PCs as you like. This purchase allows you to turn your iPad into a second screen with touch screen capabilities and includes the best customer service to help you get started (as you can see with our reviews). For users looking to turn their iPad Pro into a drawing tablet using the Apple Pencil there is an additional in-app purchase called Duet Pro. This subscription is $19.99 per year to unlock a whole suite of features including: tailored algorithms for faster drawing response, pressure & tilt control, multi touch gestures zoom & pan, hover, line smoothing, color calibration and Pixel Perfect image refresh. We are constantly developing the app, so Pro users will get new features regularly and will receive priority support to ensure they are able to rely on the product in their daily workflow. CONCLUSION: Duet Display costs a one time $9.99 and will function solely as a second display. Duet Pro and Air are subscription only options. Am I getting that right? I'm excited to try the software, but a simple table that provides transparency into the pricing would be a HUGE help. Please correct me if I'm wrong in the comments [link] [comments]

Posted: 21 Feb 2019 05:16 AM PST Hello everyone! I've been using an iPad pro 12.9 to draw for almost two years. I always use Procreate and Medibang, and from time to time I use Clip Studio too. The thing is that I'd like to try some new things like animation, but I don't know of any app available for iPad pro. Is there any program to animate? Can you recommend me one? Thank you! iPad 2018: back cover and smart cover Posted: 21 Feb 2019 02:01 PM PST So we have two iPad mini 4 which have the official silicon back cover and smart cover. I can't find that combination on the apple site for the iPad 2018. I do like to have the screen protected but i don't want it to be hanging off the top when using the iPad. Does someone knows an alternative? Or is there a official back cover for the iPad 2018? [link] [comments]
Anyone had problems with the Apple Pencil dying while on the charger? Posted: 20 Feb 2019 11:45 PM PST I went to use my iPad 3rd generation 12.9 and I noticed that the Apple Pencil was at 0% while on the charger. I hadn't used it at all. I've also noticed more battery drainage than my old iPad Air after the first couple of days of use. Like it'll drain 8% overnight. Not crazy but my old iPad Air used to stay at 100% until I used it and wouldn't drain on just standby for like 3 days [link] [comments]
What kind/brands of USB chargers can I use on my iPad Pro (2018)? Posted: 21 Feb 2019 02:58 PM PST I have a couple laptop USB C plugs and was wondering how to tell if it's safe to use? Edit: Pretty much anything I guess? [link] [comments]

USB C to USB 3 adapter with USB 3 card reader? Posted: 21 Feb 2019 07:51 AM PST Hello folks! So, can anyone who has already tested this tell me if you can use an USB C to USB 3 adapter to connect an older card reader (USB 3, obiously) with the current iPad Pro 2018? Can't seem to find an answer to this anywhere unfortunately. I'd prefer to use my good old card reader instead of buying a new USB-C one, since I'll need an USB-C to USB-3 Adapter anyway and my other devices are still USB 3 anyway :) [link] [comments]
To those who have the new Pro's and take college notes Posted: 20 Feb 2019 09:15 PM PST So I had the first gen 12.9 that I got as a graduation gift from my parents. I just upgraded to the 11" Pro because Costco was having a sale. I was skeptical about getting the smaller size but it was an entire $300 cheaper but now I am thinking maybe I want to return it and get the bigger one but figured I would ask for some opinions. Pretty much all I use my ipad for is note taking, I have a desktop at home and a macbook for when I need it that way. I love the 11" ipad for everything so far that isn't note taking. It's nicer to hold than the huge 12.9, its nice to carry, nicer to consume media on. But when it comes to note taking it just doesn't feel big enough for an entire page. Anyone else have a similar experience? Preferably someone who has used both. I have 90 days to return the ipad and 45 to return the folio case I bought so I don't have to decide immediately. The TV app is terrible for watching videos loaded onto the iPad. Are there any alternatives? Posted: 21 Feb 2019 01:03 AM PST I loaded some videos onto my iPad (I know. Who does this in 2019, right?). I didn't realize how bad the video app has gotten. All the videos are lumped into "Home Videos" with no option to make playlists. The videos are showing they are in playlists in iTunes but there is no playlist functionality in the app. I know for music there are some good 3rd party apps for local content. Are there any good apps for organizing local videos? [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Feb 2019 11:11 PM PST Hi, guys, I am looking for a cross platform scanning app, because recently I got an iPad, and trying to digitalize all my previous paper notes. I want to access my notes from the same app on both devices (iPad and Windows laptop) and be able to make folders inside of the app. Is there any app like this? Thank you in advance. Posted: 20 Feb 2019 02:58 PM PST Hi! I've got a iPadPro 12.9 inch (2018) which I use equally for drawing/notetaking and watching movies. However, I'm stuck on whether I should get the Elecom or Moshi AG. I can't get Supershieldz or pretty much all the other popular alternatives because I live in Australia and it'd cost a fortune. I was thinking of getting the Moshi due to the fact you can reapply it constantly which would be great for watching videos but I'm not sure it its worth it if I'm mainly using the screen protector itself for drawing. Thanks! also sorry for the thousandth screen protector post lol [link] [comments]
Any chance Apple will bring ultrasonic fingerprint sensors to future iPads? Posted: 20 Feb 2019 02:18 PM PST I recently switched from my iPhone 5s (been using it for 4 years) to an iPhone X, and the face detection unlocking mechanism is driving me crazy. If the phone is at an angle, such as when it is laying on a desk, it does not unlock. I use an iPad 10.5 256gb very heavily and am not planning to upgrade to the new iPad specifically for this reason -- even though I would really like to use the newer pencil for easy undo options. Is there any chance Apple will introduce in-screen fingerprint sensors (like the ultrasonic ones Samsung uses)? Lifting the iPad up while taking notes during meetings to unlock it seems absurd. And I don't want to enter my passcode in front of people sitting next to me. [link] [comments]
Posted: 20 Feb 2019 12:33 PM PST I'm planning to buy the 9.7 inch iPad for college (I already have MacBook Air). I don't know whether to get 32GB or 128GB. This will be strictly a school use only device, but I will need to download notes on it and other school apps. With my student discount I can get the 32GB for 309$ and 128GB for 409$. Also I'm considering buying a refurbished Apple Pencil for $85, though I believe student discount applies for the pencil and I can get a brand new one for 90$. Correct me if I'm wrong on that. Any opinions on which I should get, they vary so much in storage. I pay extra monthly (like a dollar or something) for iCloud storage, which houses all my photos and videos I've taken.
