Weekly /r/iOSGaming Discussion - What have you been playing lately and what do you recommend? - February 25, 2019

    Posted: 24 Feb 2019 08:08 PM PST

Please use this thread to discuss whatever iOS games you've been playing lately. They don't have to be new games, they can be old games and they do not have to be iOS original titles!

As long as it's an iOS game it belongs in here. Make sure to put the name(s) of the game(s) in bold to make it easier for people skimming the thread to see what you're talking about, and if you'd like to make it really convenient turn the game name into a hyperlink that sends people directly to the App Store!

To keep track of the thread, the comments are sorted by "new" by default.

    Find previous weekly threads here.

    Are there any F2P RPG's that aren't hero-collecting gachas?

    Posted: 24 Feb 2019 06:53 PM PST

It seems every single RPG that comes out nowadays is a hero-collecting gacha-thon, and no matter how good the gameplay/story is, the fact that they're gacha makes them all trash. I know most good RPG's are premium, like Bastion, Transistor, or console ports like FF series (not the gacha shit released recently) or tWEwY, but are there any F2P ones as well or am I just limited to replaying these old games if I don't want to go near gacha crap? I don't mind if there's some gacha system for actual gear, but won't go near one where the characters themselves are from gacha only. I've already got screwed HARD by RNG from 2 of these gacha games, not gonna try a 3rd time.

I like platformers and mindless runners to occupy me at work, and colorful puzzlers like cut the rope and such.

Are there any other masterpieces out there I’m missing out on like Night of the Full Moon?

Deck building games is a plus but games of the same caliber that everyone should play. I never believed in iOS gaming but NotFM converted me.

    Posted: 25 Feb 2019 05:52 AM PST

Are there other titles that run along the 100+games included with like small endless games in them akin to white tiles 4 and such? I'm looking for one that's preferable free and regularly updated.

    Posted: 24 Feb 2019 10:52 PM PST

I'm looking for a casual style game where you collect something: pets, items, etc. I game kind of like Nemo Atsume. Just something relaxing with some kind of little goal.

    I need a 3d platformer like mario

    Posted: 24 Feb 2019 01:25 PM PST

I have found many threads on this sub just like this one and none of them really came to a conclusion.

So I grew up with the mario franchise(I.e. super mario 64, super mario galaxy, etc.). And I know that there are quite a few good 3d platformer games on any other console and on pc too. But there arent any on mobile that are actually good 3d platformer games.(I.e. helix jump is not what im talking about). So im just asking if anyone knows of a (preferably free) good 3d platformer ios game. Thx
