    Why Apple Coverage said my Apple Watch serial number is not Valid when I did not activate the watch? (New in box)

    So i bought 2 Apple Watch Series 4 from somekind of ebay, it is sealed and i confirmed it is new and everything original. I am familiar with apple products. But there is something new, usually when i bought apple products and I check the serial number on Apple Coverage, it always show something like eligible to Service Repair but not activated. But for these Apple Watches, it shows invalid serial number. Even the serial number is match to the body. But I tried to activate one, and connect to my iphone, and the apple watch shows up in Apple Support application and also now the serial number shows result in Apple Coverage.

    Does Apple Watch require the product to be activated first for activate the validity of the serial number or what?

    I'm not sure if anyone remembers THIS thread, but I thought I would follow up and state that this comment resolved my issue completely.

    I had that problem too. I fixed it by going into settings on my phone and then messages. In there I added my Apple ID email address in the "send and receive" part, along with my number. Works fine now.

    I can confirm if you are intermittently sending text and the only way to fix it is to reset iMessage this may resolve your concern. I originally didn't want anyone to message me @ my AppleID so I removed it way back when and set it to only allow to be contacted through my mobile number. I assume the watch uses your Apple ID to share data between your phone including settings.

    As a reminder to anyone who has done the same, make sure you set your default "start conversations with" your mobile number or you may receive the "Who is this?" question as it will show up as your Apple ID otherwise.

    Because I find it hard to believe that anyone at the company would think that 3+ hours to sync 100 songs to the Apple Watch over Bluetooth is acceptable when the watch has WiFi, LTE and 16gb of storage.

    Am I missing some button somewhere that allows for fast sync over WiFi? I'd rather not have to wait a day every time I find a new playlist I want on my watch.

    I wear my watch to work, where I wash my hands A LOT. I have issues with water getting trapped under the band and I have to regularly take it off to dry my skin out. Anyone find a good band to wear that doesn't trap water?

    Swimming with an Apple Watch S3 in salty water?!

    I'm curious to know if it's ok to swim with the watch in the sea, the Mediterranean or the Red Sea to be exact, both are very salty. Will this work out or shouldn't I wear it over there?
