PSA: Apple makes it really easy to own several Watches and switch between them

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 08:55 PM PST

When I upgraded to an S4, I put my S2 in the original box and put it up for sale, but didn't get any reasonable offers. So I decided to take it out and try the latest OS on it, etc. Maybe I'm out of the loop, but I found Apple makes it easy to switch between Watches. Your activity data and notifications sync nicely between them. And you can keep one of the charger, and wear the other one, then switch when the battery runs down. No more battery anxiety.

And if you want one that's a little more fancy, and one more for sports/activity, or as a sleep tracker, you can do that too. I know some might think it's wasteful to have two (or more) Watches, but if people are only offering you ~100 bucks for your old Watch, I'd rather keep it. Anybody else agree?

    Overnight battery drain?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2019 07:48 AM PST

My S3 has been draining about 10-15% overnight when I'm wearing it with AutoSleep and Theatre mode turned on. I saw similar results before AutoSleep even if I wasn't wearing it.

Is this normal? I've rebooted the Watch and my phone, turned off Background Refresh, etc.

    Running WatchOS 5.1.2.

Lympo App - Rewards for Walking

    Posted: 07 Jan 2019 07:28 AM PST

Has anyone else tried Lympo ?

I saw an article announcing a partnership with Mark Cuban and the Dallas Mavericks and checked it out.

It allows you to get paid in their digital currency for your exercise and then buy stuff with it. It looks like it could take a while to get anything, but with my AppleWatch, it's a no brainer.

I've only been on it for a few days but happy to help answer any questions. I have a couple dollars worth already and only allow it to access my location when I know I'll be on wifi. Otherwise I just use my Apple Watch steps.

Otherwise you can check it out in the App Store

Series 4 safe for gun range use?

    Posted: 07 Jan 2019 06:56 AM PST

Does anyone wear their watch on the range?

I usually take mine off and put it in my pocket/keep it in my car, but I wish I didn't have to, just wasn't sure if it's safe.

I have a nice case on it so I'm not worried about the screen/sides getting scratched or anything, and I have a Milanese Loop so I'm not worried about the band breaking, but would the shock/force from shooting damage the watch in any way?

I feel that this is probably a dumb question, but with the cost of these watches...it's a question I'm going to ask anyway lol.

Unlock Mac with Apple Watch no longer working

    Posted: 07 Jan 2019 02:29 AM PST

One of my favourite small features of my Apple Watch S3 was to auto unlock my Mac. Recently, I think since I upgraded my iPhone to an X from a 6s, it hasn't been working. It's enabled in settings, I've rebooted the watch, phone and Mac many times, unchecked and rechecked the option in system preferences, and cannot get it to work.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? Thanks!

How to get more use out of my Apple Watch?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 02:10 PM PST

I have an apple watch series 2 and I do genuinely enjoy it, it looks nice on my wrist and it's useful for directions from maps when I bike but other than that I normally use it as a glorified mickey mouse watch... how can I get more use out of it productivity wise? Even better if I can avoid using my phone because of it.

    Raise to talk bug?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 02:09 PM PST

    Hi,

Just received my Apple Watch S4 as a gift today and I noticed that "Raise To Talk" doesn't work very well. I mean, Siri launches, recognizes my words (they are shown on the screen) and then it crashes back to the watchface. Normally it doesn't work, but sometimes it does (about 1 out of 15).

Do you guys have this problem? I've found some threads about it since October and I don't think Apple hasn't noticed about it...

Difference between the iPhone Health count of "Walking and Running Distance" and the same measured by my APPLEWATCH 4.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 05:56 PM PST

Usually my Applewatch records a distance of about 3-5% more than the iPhone XR. At the Apple Store it was explained to me that the watch is more accurate because it doesn't rely solely on GPS as the iPhone does. However today, the watch was about half the total of the iPhone-- 1.5 miles vs 3 miles for the watch. Any thoughts on why such a disparity?

2 Part Question About my Apple Watch Series 2: Flashlight Issue and Resale value.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 06:27 PM PST

I have an Apple Watch Series 2 that I got when it came out, it is the 42 mm Stainless Steel Space Black. Q1: When I go to the control center on my Apple Watch, and I tap on the flashlight, the default is the red one. Is there any way that I can change it back to the white flashlight? This issue started when I upgraded from my iPhone 6s to my iPhone XR. Is it supposed to happen since I have the Product (RED) iPhone XR? Q2: Not because of the issue with the flashlight, but because new models are now available, I've been thinking about upgrading my Apple Watch. I've had my Series 2 since 2015 and was thinking about upgrading to the Series 4 or waiting for the Series 5. I don't want to just abandon the watch, I want someone else to give it some use, and I would rather it be reused that for it to be recycled. My question is, how much could I sell it for? I've used it since I got it, but I've taken care of it. Everything works the same as out of the box. It is the Series 2 Stainless Steel Space Black in 42 mm. Thank you so much for reading and I am looking forward to responses to my questions.

Are the Apple brand bands worth the price?

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 10:11 PM PST

Debating getting one of the sport loop bands, and I was wondering if the quality/comfort is worth the 50 bucks?

I notice that there are so many other brands with similar looks that are cheaper on Amazon, but they make me think they will break or something. Thoughts?

Siri Capabilties and their differences between generations.

    Posted: 06 Jan 2019 02:26 PM PST

I recently upgraded to a Series 4 from a series 1 and I've noticed some differences in how Siri responds. Two of the major ones I always used were:

Apple Music Radio in my car. Previously "Hey Siri play Alternative Radio" would begin playing music from my phone over the car speakers. Now, it does nothing.

Find my Friends "Hey Siri, where's [wife's name]?" would pull up the find my friends Apple Watch app and show me her location. Now I'm prompted to continue on iPhone instead. Any insight as to why or any ways to fix it?
