Why doesn't Chrome pinch zoom on sites like flickr and instagram? Posted: 09 Jan 2019 03:57 AM PST Running iOS 12.1.2, Chrome 71.0.3578.89, but this hasn't changed since I've had the phone (8 plus) I find tons of sites that won't let me pinch zoom in Chrome. Two quick examples are flickr and instagram. In instagram i can't press-hold the image to open in new tab, single/double/triple clicking on the image does nothing, and I can't pinch zoom the site. However, if I open desktop mode it works as expected. Same for flickr. What's up? [link] [comments]

Budgeting app primarily for Projected Balance Posted: 09 Jan 2019 12:14 AM PST Right now I use Money Pro, but it's very limited when it comes to how I want to use it. What I want to do is put in all of my expenses in a database, set all the pull dates as close to reality as possible (monthly, quarterly, etc), and manually add every other transaction all throughout the month. I'd have bills split up into two categories: Fixed Costs that are the same every month; like a mortgage Variable A placeholder with an averaged sum - updated as soon as the bill is visible; like an electrical bill I'd input the exact sum of all sources of income as soon as that information is available, then I'd like to be able to drag a slider or input a specific date and have the output show me the exact sum remaining as of that date. A huge plus would be to have that slider / custom date functionality be available on the Apple Watch along with all the transactions, both past and projected. As well as new entries, of course. Is this too difficult to pull off in this way? If I can't get this kind of functionality in a budgeting app, I have no reason to have a budgeting app. Recommendations? Thanks. [link] [comments]
Would updating my iPhone 5s from 10.3.2 to iOS 12.1.2 be worth it? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 08:00 PM PST Hello there, I hope today's been kind to you! I was just wondering if I should update my iPhone 5s to 12.1.2 or stay on 10.3.2? I have read several articles, different posts across websites and opinions about updating to IOS 12 and mostly heard positives for performance though not so much for battery; although, I haven't found another post about a user who was on 10.3.2 asking to update to 12.1.2. (If there is, please let me know and I'll take this down!) I am not very concerned about updating for the specs and I'm content with staying on IOS 10 and with my iPhone 5s until I am unable to, I mainly want to update to save my iMessages with my best friend as he is no longer living and I do not know of any other way to save our messages since there are far too many for me to realistically screenshot and understandably, it's very painful for me to do so. Likewise, I only really want to update to protect our iMessages and to save our messages in iCloud, though, I'm afraid of updating and realizing that I would be better off not updating, that I would lose my messages somehow or it wouldn't be worth it. Please let me know if there's any reliable software that saves iMessages if you are aware of as I'm unsure if backups save iMessages in the same format, I would really appreciate it! I hope the rest of your day will treat you well, and thank you very much and kindly for your time and reading this! [link] [comments]
Homekit not in sync on my new iPad Posted: 08 Jan 2019 10:21 PM PST I tried to remove a dimmer switch in homekit, but I removed my whole Hue Bridge. I added it again but now certain things on my (new) iPad are not in sync. 1. Added the bridge with my iPhone. 2. Because of the bigger screen, I edited my setup on my iPad: rename, put Hue devices back into scenes and automation. 3. I found out that on my Mac or iPhone the edited stuff wasn't there. 4. I edited it all in my iPhone. Which pushed it to my Mac. But now my iPad isn't in sync, but is able to turn on lights. I found an old post with a "I don't know what I did"-solution. I tried to hard reset the iPad. Turned off Homekit in iCloud settings, reboot. I don't want to erase my Homekit setup (I have a lot of devices!), if I am unsure if this helps. Anybody knows what the trick is here? [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Jan 2019 08:46 PM PST My battery has been acting very strange. It is draining 20-30% every night(~7 hrs). I tried putting it on airplane mode and with all apps closed. Even still the battery still goes down by atleast 20. All background app activity is off as well . My battery health is still 100%(new phone). I had an SE previously and transferred the settings over. It worked very well. Would take only 1-2% overnight. Any ideas? [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jan 2019 06:46 PM PST Hoping this is the appropriate thread. I have a mid 2012 mbp with a 500gb SSD boot and 1tb HDD backup in the optical bay. I'm a college student pursuing business and found out I need windows for all 3 of my classes this semester, lol. I was wondering if I could purchase and download windows 10 and designate my backup drive for windows 10, and keep my main boot SSD specifically for IOS. Is this possible? Or am I stuck using boot camp to split my main drive? Thank you! [link] [comments]

Posted: 08 Jan 2019 02:45 PM PST I don't know if this is the right place to post this but I'm at a loss. My fiancé and I have have our findmyiphone apps set up to be able to see each other's location because we have two kids and worry about each other a lot. So the issue is that he can see mine all the time as long as I have WiFi or service but I can never see his! This is what I see on my app and what he sees when we check if he's sharing his location with me. I'm green and he's blue. locationissue We both have family sharing and iCloud set up and we have added each other. We both have all location services on. I'm really at a loss. We have gone over and over all settings and looked everywhere online for an answer and can't figure it out. If this isn't the right place I'm really sorry. If you know where I should post this please tell me and I'll go there. This is seriously one of those things that is bothering us to the point that we NEED to figure out how to fix it lol. Got a new phone, how long does it take for my pictures to completely load up? Posted: 08 Jan 2019 02:25 PM PST I didn't have many, maybe around 1400 pictures on my phone. Backed it up yesterday. The 300 most recent pics loaded up pretty quickly but it's been about an hour and nothing further has uploaded. Everything else, apps, messages, downloaded podcast episodes, are always up and available. edit: thanks all, appreciate the feedback. edit: took three hours but all my pics are available. Thanks again everyone. [link] [comments]
