Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:12 PM PST I have a late 2015 iMac 27", and Mojave 10.14. Bought some Bluedio UFO 2 headphones which are Bluetooth 5.0, they work great with my Apple TV and iPhone, and mostly very well with the iMac IF I just leave what I'm playing open and don't do anything else that has any sound, or say, even sound effects, like emptying the trash. Because if I do, the original app (say iTunes) that was playing sound, stops audio (device still connected). I couldn't find a rhyme or reason but it seems to be an issue with the way Bluetooth 5.0 and iMac/Mojave work together, an energy saving feature (no issues with my old Bluetooth 4.0 headphones). If I open a Youtube video in a window, and have it play (I like to stream some music channels), then open another window and play something in Youtube, and pause it, ALL audio stops (ie, the other window with the music stream, or iTunes). I have to hit play again on the current window,or the last, or iTunes, or make ANY audio happen and the audio goes again. Hit pause on anything, ALL audio stops streaming to the headphones again. Wif disconnect while locking screen in Mac Air (Mojave Version 10.14.1 (18B75) Posted: 03 Dec 2018 11:31 PM PST Hi, Since I updated to Mojave the wifi gets disconnected and auto connects when I unlock the screen. It was not the same in the previous version. Please let me know how to keep Wifi connected on the lock screen. Thanks. [link] [comments]
Easy way to browse through holiday photos and cull the ones I don't need? Posted: 03 Dec 2018 09:56 PM PST I'm sorry if this has been posted before, I couldn't find anything similar to what I'm looking for. Pretty much, my SO and I went to Europe and have A LOT of lovely photos and we're wanting to sort through them and do something nice. So far, I've found using Finder and Preview very tedious, particularly because I want to delete many photos and filter the nice ones. I imagine many photography gurus out there have sorted this out already on their Macs so would love any program recommendations or tips that allow me to "favourite" and delete photos efficiently. I have a mid-2014 Macbook Pro. Thanks! [link] [comments]

kernel_task high cpu usage on macOS Mojave Posted: 03 Dec 2018 05:02 AM PST Hello everybody. I have a MacBook Air (MacBookAir6,2) running macOS Mojave (latest updates, latest everything). The issue is that the Mac is extremely laggy. When I checked Activity Monitor I saw kernel_task at 300% cpu. I assume kernel_task is throttling my CPU because its CPU usage is constant and way above what it should be. I have googled everywhere and tried websites http://www.rdoxenham.com/?p=259 and https://blog.viktorpetersson.com/2016/10/01/how-to-fix-kerneltask-cpu-usage-on-macos-sierra.html with no success. My Mac's fans are running cool at 48 degrees celsius and has no thermal issues (I used Mac fans control). Oh and my Mac also has no battery (I am running the MacBook as a Mac mini). Please do not ask me to buy a new battery, customs in my country block me from buying any from outside. Even if there is a solution involving a new battery, I am looking for a software based fix first. Also please do not tell me I should go to an apple store. Thank you for your time! Help! Steam not opening on Mac OS Posted: 03 Dec 2018 08:54 AM PST A few weeks ago I updated my macbook OS to Mojave. Ever since, my Steam application refuses to open. When I attempt to run steam, the application icon will bounce for a few minutes until I have to force quit. No windows open, no error messages. Has anyone else had this problem? Please help!
